I smiled at this. He was actually begging instead of telling. Maybe he wasn't all that bad. I nodded, trying to be serious again, and sat down on the ground, leaning against a tree. He sat too so he wouldn't be ten feet taller than me.

"OK, well the other day, when I was..." I paused, thinking about it. "When you had Domi on the other side of the island, I was after you, broken leg and all"--I motioned to the leg that was still hurting, but basically ignored it as much as possible--"I fell, and didn't have enough strength to get up, so I sorta just stayed right there. Well, he was taking pictures with a camera, and he found me, but for some reason he didn't kill me or anything. But that wasn't when I saw him. I saw him before that, way before that, but I'm not sure where. I remember his face somehow, but..." I trailed off, looking at the ground. I wasn't sure what. I'd seen him before and that was all I knew.

After maybe thirty minutes of silence, and thinking, I stood, gasping and collapsing back to the ground, whimpering from the pain. He had done this, and I tried not to make him feel guilty, so I wiped the tears away, using the tree to stand, and I balanced on one leg, sighing as I felt my bone fall back into place.

"I should be laying back on that cot, but I'm just not in the mood to sit down, though sleep would do us all good," I said, looking at him.

"I did that..." I said, feeling miserable for her. She should hate me, but... she didn't. Why? I wouldn't ask... I walked over to her, picking her up, she looked up at me shocked.
"W-what are you doing?" She asked... I smiled.
"Helping you. If it hurts that much for you to walk, then I'll carry you." I said, walking back towards camp.
"Put me down." She asked. I stumbled a step, on purpose, and she out her hands on my shoulders. When we walked back through the trees Logan looked up.
"Hey, what are you doing?" He asked, looking ticked at me. I deserved it. I had hurt so many of them.

I sighed, seeing as he wouldn't be listening to me, as no one does unless it was about killing the beasts. I held onto his shoulder, hoping he didn't drop me, and I stared at his face. He didn't look at me, so I looked away, searching for something else. Logan looked mad at the sight, which I had no clue why. He was helping, for once. He sat me down outside instead of on the cot, where we all knew I should be.

"Thank you," I said, smiling at him, even though I didn't need his help. I had been doing fine before, and I needed the practice, considering I doubted that it would ever heal without true medical attention. He smiled back. I could tell it was awkward for him to be thanked after what he did. He sat next to me, and I continued to look at him.

"I'm not mad at you for hurting me," I said again. He sighed, looking at me.

"I know," he answered, the question bubbling up in his eyes. I didn't really feel like explaining it to him right now, but I would.

"I'm not mad because it doesn't bother me that you hurt me, I was only mad when you hurt my family. I don't give a damn about myself. It's when you messed with them that made me mad. And I'm not violent, so I only hit you when you hurt them," I explained, looking away.

I looked down at her.
"You should. Your a great person. I know I've said it already, and it really doesn't cut it. But I'm sorry." I looked away.
"Yes, you have said it already." I shrugged.
"I mean it, and you are a great person. Caring, intellegent, maybe a tad stubborn, but pretty." Did I seriously just say that? Me? Could I possibly... Nah... Could I? She looked shocked, I was shocked. I looked away again.
"I'm going to shut up now." I said, clicking my tounge. This was very awkward.

I was a tad bit shocked that he had just said that. Not by the words, but by the fact that they were coming from Kyle, the man who tried to kill me. I blushed, looking away into the green of the trees. I wondered if Domi was OK. She had to be, for my sake. For the sake of Tar. Poor Tar, he had been through so much, he didn't need this. None of us needed this.

This was how I saw it. Upon coming here, we had all hated each other--or some of us had--we had become friends, then, we had become a family, close and tight, saving each other's butts, then, as I saw now, we were falling in love. This was just stupid, I swear. I should have hated his guts, I should have wanted to kill him, I should have killed him before, but was I really a violent person? No, I could barely kill the beasts without not wanting to cause them pain. I was pathetic. I put my chin on my fist that was on my good leg. This was stupid, simply stupid.

TARRION

I held Domi close, pulling her against me as tightly as I dared and burried my face into the back of her neck. One thing I didn't understand was how she could still love me after all that. My head wasn't throbbing quite as much anymore, and now that I was thinking clearly, I was able to push out the images I had seen earlier. But seen on what?

I took a deep breath, pushing the thoughts aside. It didn't matter, none of it mattered. Okay, so it mattered a lot, but I could sort things out later. Right now all I needed was to know that she still loved me, even after what I had done to her. A strange sense of peace came over me and my eyelids drooped slightly.

I smiled to myself before drifting off to sleep.

SAMANTHA

We had finally reached my little HQ set-up and I was already yelling orders at Mark to prepare the choppers. "You have exactly five hours to get ready and go take in twelve more teens! It takes four hours to get there, so you'd better get your ass in gear!" I bellowed, glaring at him.

"Twelve? Usually you take them around thirty, fourty even!" Mark protested, crossing his arms.

I narrowed my eyes, the man really knew how to tick me off. "I am perfectly aware. Twelve of them." I shoved the piece of paper listing who they were, where they lived and what part of the island to drop them off at.

He frowned at me before turning to obey orders. Stupid man...

It was an awkward number, I did give her that, but usually there weren't any kids left by now. Why had these teens gotten farther than the others? Lasted longer? Learned to kill the beasts? I wouldn't have admitted it, but I was proud. There were tough people in this world. I laughed to myself, picking out another chip from the bag then popping it in my mouth. I was on duty watching the cameras again, and Sam was pacing behind me. Last thing we saw was Kyle helping the others. That was just great. Tar was back to normal, and Kyle wasn't going to kill him.

I wished she would let me go back out there and take a video camera to record them. We didn't have any surveillance cameras where we could see their camp. A picture only says so much, yet a video of them shows exactly how they do it. Besides, sitting here wasn't killing them faster.

It was looking back over the pictures I had taken, flipping through them quickly, that I realized the one girl looked familiar. Annie May. Then there was that girl Wren, or so they called her. Siren was her real name, and Annie was her sister. They were both familiar to me. I narrowed my eyes in confusion as I looked at the picture of the two of them together, Annie on a cot, Wren working to save her life. I give her this, Annie was a tough one.

"What are you looking at?" Sam asked, snatching the picture from me. I leaned back in the chair, putting my hands behind my head. She looked at me then the picture, then she turned it so I could see it. I would have laughed if she would have told me to bring them to her, or if she told me to kill them myself. I knew she wouldn't but I would have done it...wouldn't I?

~Annie May~

It clicked. It all fell together. Where I had seen him, why he was familiar to me. I looked up suddenly, looking over at Kyle.

"When I was a little girl, when Wren and I lived with our father, he had worked with him. That man, Damon. They had worked together, and my father had brought him home once to meat us. He was staying a while with us. I don't know why I couldn't think of that before, he was basically living with us."

"He lived with you?" She nodded her head, looking all proud that she had figured it out. "Should I be worried, for your safety and theirs?" I asked, pointing to the others, her family. They would never accept me after what I did."I mean, is he dangerous?" I wasn't going to let anything hurt them after what I did. I wasn't going to let anything hurt her. Why did I care for annie more then the others?

DOMI

Tarrion well asleep. My breathing was congested. It was so sudden, I had noticed I was getting sick... but not to this extent. Despite my hard breathing I found myself falling asleep. I relaxed against Tarrion. Man he threw off a lot of body heat. I begged I wouldn't snore, being congested and all, as I drifted off to sleep.

"I don't know, he could have changed over the years. It was a very long time ago," I answered. I could tell he didn't feel like he was a part of this family, but he was, no matter what he said. He belonged here just as much as the rest of us did, like it or not. I touched his shoulder gently, smiling when he looked up at me. My face was sincere.

"You belong here you know," I said. "You might hate yourself for what you did, but I don't." I pointed to my leg. "If you ask me, I had that coming. I killed someone, yea, I deserved it." Not saying that the woman I killed was trying to kill me, but yea. I shuddered at the memory, pain striking my side. I sighed, laying back on the ground and closing my eyes. It felt better to lay down.

I hated seeing her like this, I had never stopped to actually watch what happened to people when I hurt them. I was an ignorant retarded fool. She laid back and closed her eyes. She looked comfortable. But inside would probably be even more comfortable. I leaned over and picked her up again, pain spiked through both arms every time I did. Stupid pain was catching up to me. You can only ignore it so long. She opened her eyes, looking at me.
"What are you doing?" She asked. I stood, walking towards the tent.
"I thought you would be more comfortable inside. You look tired, you should sleep." I walked into the tent, and looked away from domi and tarr automatically. I wouldn't dare even look at them after what I did.

I didn't want to admit it, but he was nice, even after what he did. Who was I kidding, I couldn't think of him as a bad person, no matter how close to death I was because of him. I smiled as he sat me down on the cot while trying not to look at Domi and Tar, who were sleeping against each other and the side of the tent. They seemed happy, and I hoped they were. I tore my eyes from them, hoping Kyle would be OK too. I felt bad because I knew at least one of those broken ribs were from me.

I looked at my hands, where the cuts were healing from where my nails had dug into my palm. Had I really been that mad at him? Enough to hurt myself like that? I would hurt myself to save anyone though, so I couldn't say that. Even if I hated them, I'd give my life for them. The woman from the helicopter, I had to really force myself to kill her, the beasts, I had to find a technique so that I wouldn't cause them much pain when I did. I was harmless no matter what weapon was put in my hand, or even if it was my hands I was using.

I wanted to help Kyle, but at the moment, I couldn't even help myself. My eyes closed without permission, and I found I couldn't open them. I would have wished I was dead, but now, I had something I didn't want to lose. My family.

***

When I opened my eyes, the sun wasn't beaming down on my face. Actually, the moon was visible through the open tent. It was beautiful with an awkward shade of red mixed with a shining silver. The stars seemed to fade next to it. I looked around. Tar and Domi were still cuddled together by the edge of the tent, and Kyle was on my other side, sleeping. He needed it. I stood up, not feeling my bone move under the pressure. I smiled, and limped out of the tent. Most of them were either asleep, or caught up in conversation by a brilliant red orange fire. I continued on past without them even noticing.

The forest was illuminated by the brilliance of the moon, and I could see every leaf that had once been bright green was now painted silver with the color of the moon. I sat again by the place I hated. Where I had crawled out of the water from the fight with the lady in white, as Tar called her. The woman who nearly killed me aside from Kyle. I heard something move, and I didn't ignore it. At this point, I was ready to run if needed, hurting myself no doubt. I turned to see who or what was coming into the clearing by the water where I was sitting on the rocks, my feet in the water.

SAMANTHA

I had finally given up and sat down in one of the chairs, half-aware of the fact that I hated Dill Pickle chips...and was eating them. Stupid Damon, he should know better than to bring them in here. Oh well, I was stress-eating. Kyle was officially on my list, the list that all of the other incompotent fools on this freaking island were on. Of course, Damon wasn't on that list. He might be close, but he was safe enough for now.

"Mark should be arriving by now," I stated absently after glancing at the clock. "Oh, and I'm working on a new beast. Have been for a while now. They're better, harder to kill."

Damon looked back at me and arched an eyebrow. "You failed to mention this to me."

"I know." I rose from the chair and started pacing again, staring at the floor. For some odd reason, watching my feet disapear and reappear from under me was mesmorizing. I was so messed up...

TARRION

I don't know what woke me up, it must have been a dream, but I was officially awake. Awake and my head wasn't pounding, or spinning. I could actually think.

Domi was still sleeping, her breathing wheezy. I moved my hand slowly from around her waist and placed it gently on her forehead, propping myself on my other elbow. She was burning up. I bit my lip and rolled away from her, waiting to see if she'd wake up. She didn't.

I crept out of the tent, rubbing my eyes and looking up. "She's really sick. Where's that kit?" I asked, sounding rather defeated. Those asleep, of coures, ignored me, but Matt pointed to the far side of the tent and I sprinted back quickly.

RYDER

There was banging at the door... I groaned and looked up at my clock, 3:13am. What the heck? I threw my legs over the side of my bed and scrambled down the stairs, my mother following behind me. I ran to the door and threw it open, glaring at a man in white.

My mother gasped, her breathing quickening.

"You're one of the ones who took Tarrion!" she shrieked, attempting to slam the door around me. The man pulled a gun, aiming it at me. I threw my hands in the air and took a step backwards, knocking into my mother.

"Woaaah! Put the gun down man!" I hissed. "You took my brother?"

The man grinned and nodded. "I have orders to come take you, too. You have ten minutes to pack. Get to it."

I glanced back at my mother, she was on her knees sobbing. I helped her up and brought her to the girls, telling them to give her lots of hugs and kisses. Tears were coming to my eyes, but it looked like this would be unavoidable. I ran to my room, grabbed a duffel bag and started throwing things into it.

Shirts, pants, underwear, sweater, food, knives, a gun. I sighed and added a few more things to the mix before sprinting back down the stairs. I could hear everybody crying upstairs, and I was forcing myself not to do the same.

The man ushered me outside and into a helicopter. Great.

I sat down on the couch, bored, and not sure what to do. I wondered where my parents had gone for their anniversary? Probably out of town to one of the upper class restaurants. My parents were rich, need I say more? I sighed, standing. They would probably be gone all night, and they wouldn't be back until later tomorrow if I knew them. I went to the phone, dialing the familiar number to my best friend.

"Hello?" Tammy asked. I laughed, planning something.

"Hey Tams, it's Am. What do you say about a party?" I asked, smiling wryly.

"At your place? What about your parents? They'll kill you!" she said. I nodded to myself.

"They're out right now, and they wont be back till tomorrow evening. Call everyone you know and tell 'em they're invited." I would be in so much trouble for this, but I didn't care. After a quick goodbye phone kiss, I was calling more people. I smiled, sitting back down on the couch. So I had someone bringing the alcohol, someone bringing the food, and everybody bringing their enthusiasm and friends.

It wasn't long before I heard a knock, and I skipped to the front door, checking my watch. It was early for them to be here. I opened it, stunned to see a man standing there, unfamiliar to me.

"Who're yo--" He cut me off, pulling a gun out. I put my hands up, backing into the house. "What do you want from me?" I asked. He smiled wryly.

"You have ten minutes to go pack, make it quick," he spit. I turned, sprinting for the stairs. I went up to my room, grabbing my pink duffel bag out of the closet and throwing some of my favourite dresses and clothes in it. I put my little tiara in it, kissing the top of it. It was silver and had diamonds on it. Expensive. I put my bag of jewelry in there, and a gun my parents had bought for my room. I grabbed my stuffed bear, throwing the bag over my shoulder and grabbing one of my picture frames. It was a picture of my real parents holding me when I was born. I flicked the light off, skipping downstairs. He took my arm, still holding the gun to my head. He threw me in a helicopter with another guy. I pouted, pulling my legs up to my chest.

3:13 am. Still no sleep, how can people sleep when sleep makes you venerable? When your venerable ANYTHING can get you, spiders, venomous snakes, secret agents bent on controlling the earth! I gripped my handgun closer to me. I was the smart one, I wouldn't let them get me! I heard a knock at the door, and my mother called to me sleepily.
"Dan get that for me!" Poor thing, she was so weak. I wouldn't let them get her. My palms began to sweat as I neared the door. I put my hand on the nob and called to whoever was outside, or whatever was outside.
"W-who is it!?" The door opened, I thought I locked it! A guy in a white uniform was standing at the door. I aimed my gun at him with trembling hands.
"I knew you'd come for me! You'll never take me alive secret government agent!" He looked at me like I was retarded, then aimed his own gun at me.
"Look, we know how this is going to play out. We're going to stand here, aiming at each other, eventually you'll lower your gun. By that time you'll be out of time to pack. So if you want to do this the easy way, I suggest you pack. 9 minutes."
I lowered my gun and ran into my room, throwing all my weapons in my bag under my clothes. Along with some food and other essentials. Like soap. I walked back out into the main room with my bag, where the guy was still standing. He guided me out to a helicopter.
