CRIMSON

I rolled my eyes and pushed myself to my feet. "Hate you? Trust me, if you're lucky, I will start hating you," I muttered. Joy, I had sliced my hand on a shard of glass. I held my other hand to it, trying to stop the blood. "Of course I don't hate you yet though. Unfortunately for you." I changed the subject quickly to avoid questions. "Has anybody seen a black jaguar about yey high?" I motioned with my hands about how high she was.

I got a few raised eyebrows, but nothing more. "No? Oh, well that's wonderful. You guys are really helpful." I stumbled out of the cabin after Thorn. "Have you seen Stealth?"

THORN

At first i thought it was Dylan who had followed me. So i turned around, but it was crim. Thank god. I would rather the god damn killer to Dylan. He was such a dog, he followed me like one at least. "No, sorry crim. I haven't seen stealth, wish i had though." I dearly admired that jaguar. How had he managed to get it to be so loyal? "Maybe he ran off to the woods." I said motioning. Dylan came running out. I groaned, great.
"Thorn! Do you have any idea how we'll get off this island?" I sighed.
"No, Dylan. Like i just said, i have nothing."

I'm walking outside, not near Crim, Thorn, or the others. Somehow, I know it's easier to be in my own head when I'm alone. When I'm far enough into the woods, I sit on a small log.

Who would be so sick as to drug a bunch of people and send them somewhere they would almost certainly die? No one I know, that's for sure. I can count on my hands how many people I know so far and have fingers left over.

Mid thought, who came sauntering up to me but - you guessed it - Stealth, Crim's pet jaguar. "Hey there," I mutter. This animal is intimidating me less and less. Stealth lays down in the shade of a nearby tree.

Thanks for the idea RAZ!
DYLAN

I looked over at thorn, then at the others. I knew i didn't have long to live. We wouldn't get off this island alive. I knew what i wanted, i looked over at thorn. What would my friends think if i died, never having kissed a girl. Hey, how did i know that? Oh well, i didn't care. I walked over to thorn and asked her to talk to me alone for a moment. She agreed.

THORN
Dylan and i walked far enough away from the group, i turned to him.
"Hurry up, the longer we are away from the group the more likely we are to die." He smiled, putting a hand on my shoulder. I looked at him with disgust, as i leaned against a tree.
"Thorn, i know i know you from somewhere. I knew you before." I smiled a little.
"So you remember your past?" He frowned and shook his head. "Then what do you want?" he leaned towards me... what in heks name. I gasped as he pressed his lips against mine. Digging his fingers into my hair. He slowly started moving his lips, when i didn't respond he pulled away. I didn't even think. I punched him in the face.
"STUPID! How dare you kiss me!" I ran back to the others, right into crim. He was on his way to check out the screaming probably.

DYLAN
I felt my nose, it was bleeding, that girl had one hek of a punch. I face/palmed. What was i thinking!

What up with the screaming? I pull myself up from the log and run towards the sound. It could be important. Stealth follows me. Pretty soon the screaming dies out, but I head in the direction anyway. I see Crim coming from the opposite direction and looking the a tree. His mouth twitches.

"What? What's going on?" I demand. Crim points to the tree, and I run over so that I'm looking at the same side he is. Stealth trots over to his side. My hand claps over my mouth. Dylan is slumped against the tree, clutching his nose with blood streaming down his chin. "Oh my God!" I squeal.

"I think Thorn did it," Crim snickers. Of course - why am I not surprised. It's probably broken, and an instinct somehow knows what I should do.

"Don't move," I order Dylan. He nods, but I'm not convinced. "Crim, please hold Dylan down while I set his nose?" Surprisingly, he does as I ask. I press my fingers gently to his face to find where the break is. Once I do, I take his nose on either side and jerk it back to center. He cries out in pain, but I ignore it. "Keep holding him down, will you?" I tear out a strip of cloth from the bottom of my shirt and tie it around Dylan's head. I step back, admiring my handiwork. "Crim you can let go now. You're good to go Dylan! A little bloody, but there's water all around us so you can clean off. You're welcome."

I stepped beside Kade, muttering to myself.
"I should break it again." She looked up at me.
"And why is that?" she put her hands on her hips. I was getting angry again as i glared at Dylan.
"Cause he forced me to kiss him." I crossed my arms, looking down at him. Crim looked pissed.
"Why did you do that?!?" He was glaring at dylan now. Of course Dylan, being the stupid little pup he was, shrugged.
"I don't know, i couldn't help myself, dude, she's hot!" I kicked his leg and stomped off, clearly ticked.

DYLAN

My nose was killing me, i looked up as Thorn walked over. She muttered something under her breath, kade heard her.
"And why is that?" She put her hands on her hips, I looked up at Thorn, she was glaring at me. 'If looks could kill' crossed my mind.
"Cause he forced me to kiss him."Her expression become less, threatning, more upset.
"Why did you do that!?" Crim questioned. I shrugged, trying to think of what to say.
"I don't know, I couldn't help myself, dude, she's hot!" I checked her out, but she kicked my leg and stormed off. I put my head in my hands, god im an idiot!

This exchange is getting old. Balancing on my good leg, I kick Dylan then Thorn with my prosthetic. They both keel over. Metal has GOT to be more painful than skin and bone.

"Dylan," I say exasperated, "please stop acting so stupid; and Thorn, please stop overreacting. Look - a boy wanting to kiss you isn't a bad thing. The glass is half full, or...zero halves full if all the water's gone. Dylan. The girl hates you. You don't want to make a move like that until she's at least able to be near you without wanting you to spontaneously combust!"

"I never thought that!" Thorn says defensively.

"No? Well, still, things that cause him pain." Thorn doesn't answer. Points for Kade!

"Fine, i'll control myself, maybe." That earned me another hit from Thorn. "okay! Fine." I crossed my arms and looked away. Stupid hot chick.
"You'de better, or else!" Thorned threatened.
"Or else what?" I winked at her. Her face got pale.. er.
"Or else i will break your nose again.: She went to dive at me but kade stepped in front of me. Crim smiled as he watched.

CRIMSON

I shook my head and grinned. Why, I wasn't quite so sure. I was more pissed than I had been in a long time. I put a hand on Thorn's shoulder and pulled her back aways. "Kade, could you be a dear and step out of the way?" She gave me a skeptic look, but she moved. "Don't touch her again, got it? You will control yourself or I'll leave it to myself to step up." Had I just pronounced myself Thorn's bodyguard?

Dylan glared at me. "I said I would try."

"Well trying's not good enough. In my opinion you had what was coming. Leave the girl alone." I smirked. Stealth would be a nice weapon in this little game. He growled, ears back and lips curled in a snarl. Almost like he had been cued into that one. "Maybe I won't have to step up. Stealth here looks plenty eager." I crossed my arms, still smirking, half hoping Kade wouldn't kick me, too. I turned to face her, no sign of a plot against me there.

"Who died and made you her bodyguard?" Dylan hissed.

I twisted my head back to him and leaned it to the side to crack it. "Nobody. Protecting is what I do. It's instinctive." I shrugged and leaned against a tree. Yeah, Dylan officially ticked me off.

Thank you, Crim! And, of course, Stealth. "Here's what I say," I tell them. "Don't provoke each other, and two wrongs don't make a right. One more thing - self control is important. You people forget about any of that, we're more likely to fight and DIE. Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't sound too pleasant." This is starting to feel like a bad lecture.

I'm glad Crim is guarding Thorn. She probably won't like it, but Dylan will be able to reconsider his actions more easily locked in the gaze of a jaguar. "Dylan, since Crim is guarding Thorn, I'll guard you. You two obviously have some issues and I can't be sure Thorn won't want to kill you or...something." When Crim, Stealth, and Thorn walk away, I turn to Dylan and grin. "You seriously need to learn how to make a girl like you!" I laugh.

"W-what?"

"Oh, come on. You know you like Thorn, and she doesn't know she likes you yet! You need to show her she does. First off, some sort of apology. I could probably get Crim to let you close enough," I pause. "Maybe you could give her something. Not flowers. Uh...the only thing I can think of that she would like is a razor..."

"NO! I just took one of those things from her, i'm not giving her another one." She put up her hands.
"Alright, i was just joking." I sighed in relief, calming down a little, not much. It didn't help that i couldn't get anywhere near her, stupid jaguar and bloody over protective guy. "How do i get her to like me?"

THORN

I walked off with crim and stealth, when we were a safe distance i looked up at him.
"Thanks. You didn't have to stick up for me back there, but i appreciate it." His voice was emotionless.
"It was nothing." I looked down at stealth, who was walking on my other side. I stroked the top of his head lightly. The silence wasn't comfortable, at least for me, crim didn't seem to mind.
"Your right you know." I looked up at him. He looked confused.
"About what?" I looked back down.
"About our pasts, they do make us who we are, and i do wish i could remember mine. Maybe then i could remember why I'm so miserable that i enjoy doing this to myself." I turned my wrist upward, holding it out in front of me. "Must be pretty miserable if this is all that makes me happy."

"Okay! Of course, the apology," I say, "but the most important thing is to understand where she's coming from. You can't always protect her, and she probably won't ever want you to. If you just have a...civilized conversation with her instead of pissing her off in some way, she'll see you as a decent person. We clear?"

Dylan shakes his head. "I'm not going to let her hurt herself, and I can't understand why she would. All she really needs is love."

I sigh. "She doesn't want love. For now, the object of the game is to give her what she wants! She wants to be understood! Once you're there, you can share how you feel - to an extent - and she won't really hate you." This guy seriously needs to screw in his brain. To me, this is all obvious. To him...I just don't know.

I stared at Thorn's wrists, wondering what caused people to be driven so over the edge that they would hurt themselves. Well, my mission was to protect her from Dylan, not from herself. "I don't understand why you do that to yourself, but I guess I won't stop you. Just don't do it around me alright?"

She smiled. "Okay."

"Oh, and I appreciate the agreement. I would go out of my way to remember my past. That way I would know if I had siblings, parents, a girlfriend." I chuckled. "Though I don't see what girl would want a guy like me. I'm pretty messed up from what I can tell." I wasn't lieing either. Any girl who wanted to be my better half needed to meet some decent guys. I patted Stealth's head thoughtfully. Oh to rediscover my past...

Understanding... all i would have to do is understand her... that sounded frightening. Thorn didn't really have a good way of looking at things.
"How exactly do i 'understand' her?" I crossed my legs. She sat down beside me. This was so stupid, way was i taking advice from a girl? Well since they are both girls, they must have some similar thoughts.
"OK..." Kade started, i tried to pay attention.

"Though I don't see what girl would want a guy like me. I'm pretty messed up from what I can tell." I looked up at him, like he was an idiot.
"What girl wouldn't like a guy like you. Your mysterious, protective and quite charming. The real question is, how could a guy fall for a girl like me?" He chuckled.
"Dylan seemed to have an easy time with it." I crossed my arms.
"There's a difference between liking someone and falling for someone." Stealth lowly growled in what sounded like agreement.

I arched my eyebrow at Thorn. "I suppose. But why not fall for a girl like you? You're honest, feisty, independant, and as the twit would say, pretty hot to boot." I laughed and kicked at a stone. She probably wouldn't appreciate that last one, but it was true.

"Right. Since when do guys like feisty girls?"

I grinned. "Well, feisty girls just have this certain quality to them that makes guys drool. I can't say what it is. Maybe the fact that we can't have them makes us want them more." I paused and glanced behind me absently. "Oh, and I'm charming? Since when?" I wouldn't really consider myself extremely charming. Maybe I would take to bowing and kissing girls' hands upon meeting them. That would be gentle-man like and charming. I grinned. What the heck? It could be my thing.
