Wow, I love this! It reminds me of old legends from Cornwall, England, about how mermaids would sing to sailors and they would swim out to see them and they would take them underwater (something like that, I learnt these stories ten years ago haha!) I don't know if you had that in mind when painting it, but it's very much like how I imagined those stories. I have no suggestions on how to make it better, because honestly I think it's perfect as it is!

I really have no complaints, this is so incredibly realistic and perfect down to every last detail. Man, I wish I could draw like this...are you planning on selling it? I bet you could.

Okay, first off- O_O Whoa. Dude. That. Was. Awesome, man. That painting was totally sick!!! It's better than something you'd see in a freaking museum! The details were amazing, and I loved how you highlighted the mermaids hair just subtly with the auburn colors. the bubbles coming out of the man's mouth were incredibly described, and the details were incredibly good.
Do you take art classes or something? Cause that was off the chain, dawg! just kidding-- i don't really talk like that. anyways, please post some more of your work!!!

This is from the Pirates of the Caribbean Kids book, isn't it? I think the title is Jack Sparrow: Siren Song. I mean, if you actually painted this, that's amazing. But forgive me, I'm a little eensy bit suspicious. (*shrugs*).

Thanks for the review all and yes amtimerose I did get the whole idea from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' kids book and I was waiting for somone to point that out. I thought it was really pretty, but I did paint it myself .

I'm not an artist at all, but I just wanted to say that I adored this. From the cheeky look the mermaid has to the desperate look the man (pirate?) has, this is crafted beautifully. And yes... mermaids really are evil.

WOW That is amazing. You are so much better at art than me. I can just about manage stick people and even they look stupid. What gave you the idea to do a mermaid?

That is AMAZING!! Better yet, it's INCREDIBLE! But I'm going to lay off the caps before somebody chops of my head.... I wish I had the ability to paint like that....it's so, so, so, so good! I really like the guy's face and the mermaid's hair.
Hmm, I have to say that it's too blurry for my taste (I'm putting in a sour review because everybody is all like ZOMG over it) I draw flat shapes and hard lines (black ink) with crosshatching, and the muted colors, green lighting and altogether blurry look didn't appeal to me. I suggest adding streak lines, or sharpening the shapes, or darkening the edges. Just something to stop my eyes from going out of focus every time I look at it. But all that aside: you did good. Thumbs up!
