Kaylee:

"I will always wake up for you." Blaise said. Even though I knew that one day he wouldn't I still believed him. I leaned over and wrapped my arms around him and looked into his bright blue eyes. I leaned in closer and placed my lips on his in a kiss.

Blaise

I kissed Kaylee. We stayed there for what felt like weeks but could have been only a few seconds or a minute.

When we pulled away, she leaned against me and I put my arm around her. Not my left arm, since that one really wasn't in any condition for that kind of a thing. But, anyway....

We stayed there for a while, just silent.

I really did love Kaylee...

Anika walked by my side, her hand in mine, a smile on both of our faces. I was thrilled that I had one friend here. Anika looked up at me, her face full of questions. "Ewie?"
she asked. I looked into her little eyes.

"Yes," I replied. She looked away. She seemed more like a mature adult than anything. "Dew yew heaw stuff sometimes?" she asked. I was astounded by what she said.

"What do you mean?" I questioned. She sighed as though something was troubling her. I could only imagine how stressful this must be for her.

"Wike...between bowth of us. Sometimes, I hewe some of yew thoughts. What about yew?" Come to think about it, I had been hearing things. Like when I'm not around her, I could hear her voice.

"Yes," I whispered. She nodded to herself, looking back up at me smiling widely. I laughed as she stuck her tongue out at me. Then I remembered something. I lifted her up, and held her with my right arm. "Hey, do you remember how you did that trick back there with the wind?" She nodded. I smiled brightly. Now was the chance to practice with her.

Anika

"Can you do that again?" Ellie asked.

"I dunno..." I said, struggling for the right words to say. "It's hawrd."

"Please?" she said earnestly.

"Otay..." I closed my eyes and tried to make those flashy yellow things in the sky. I heard Ellie gasp and looked up. It had burnt down a tree.

"Wow," she said, smiling. "Well done."

"Tank you," I said, grinning brightly back.

Michel

I crossed my eyes and stuck out my tongue. Blake laughed. It was good to hear that. It was good just to be here. Not just with Blake, but with everyone. It had been a long time since I joked just to joke. Not to break a silence.

My shoulder ached and my eyes were heavy. But, I was laughing and eating so it was cool.

I gasped as a tree above us cought fire. Moving Anika and myself away from the fallin limbs, I smiled. I was very proud of her. "Well dodne" I said in approvement.

"Tank yew," she said to me, smiling too. I had to test her. But I couldn't test Anika the way I'd test somebody my own age.

"Can you..." I thought for a moment. "Make that big cloud over there disapear?" I pointed to a huge black cloud in the sky. She shrugged again. I knew this must take a lot from her. I took her hands and she looked back at me. I nodded and she smiled. She closed her eyes, concentrating yet again. This time, I did too. I focussed on passing my energy to her. I felt the flow and I opened my eyes to see what would have turned this sunny day into a bad one disapear. I smiled, looking back at her and hugging Anika. She laughed.

Btw, she's 3 almost 4 so don't make her have TOO MUCH baby speak... she's actually pretty good at talking.

Anika

"Great work," Ellie said. I smiled and hugged her.

"Anything else?" I asked, trying to sound adult and failing.

"No, that's good enough for now," Ellie said, smiling. I was tired so I was glad we were done. I yawned.

"Go back to camp?" I asked curiously.

"Yes," I said, letting go of one of her hands and standing. I lifted her up, seeing that she was tired. I carried her back to camp. The sight of everyone smiling and laughing made me happy and I smiled too. I sat down with Anika under a tree closer to the others. It was nice to see them all happy. It seemed we were more happy away from the sad caves.

Ahem. Sunny, when Blaise was telling Kaylee that we'd all be there for her you forgot to mention Corbin.

Blake

Sitting there was nice, but it couldn't last forever.

"Do you know what the plan is?" I asked Michel. "Are we camping out here for a while, or flying off the island, or what?"

"I don't know," he replied. "Why don't we find Kaylee and find out?"

"Sure," I agreed.

Getting up, Michel grabbed my hand, and we walked together towards the edge of camp. After a while we came upon Blaise and Kaylee, sitting on a rock hugging each other. They both had their eyes closed. I turned to Michel and put my finger to my mouth, telling him to be quiet. I sneaked over to by them and leaned my head right next to theirs.

"BOO!" I screamed and backed up.

They both jumped. And I mean jumped. Kaylee literally flew a few feet up before realizing it was just me.

"Since when do you prank?" asked Blaise. "Doesn't Michel usually do that and you're standing in the corner looking all disapproving?"

"Hey," I said. "Am I not allowed to have fun every once in a while?"

Blaise came over to me and spoke so only I could hear.

"By the looks of things, I'd say you've been having just a little too much fun." He set his gave on Michel. I rolled my eyes.

"About as much as you've been having with Kaylee over there."

"Fine, truce," he said. "And do you need something, or did you come just to harass us?"

"Actually," I said. "We do need something. We were wondering what the plan was."

~Ellie May~

I watched as Blake and Michel left to find Kaylee. I closed my eyes ans focused on them, seeing the picture in my head. I laughed as Blake scarred the life out of Kaylee, making her jump into the air. When I opened my eyes, Anika was watching me, a smile on her face. Everyone else knew what was happening, so they had no need to check in on me unless I was panicking again.

But, shortly after that thought, another image filled my mind. "The wolves," I said with alarm, standing. By now, they knew this wasn't a joke, and they should take it serious. They stood as well.

"About how far away?" Corbin asked, completely business like. "Maybe a couple miles, but they are traveling pretty fast."

"How long do we have?" Ester asked. "Maybe thirty minutes at the most." Everyone knew now to act serious when it came to this. And even Anika's smile was gone. She wasn't confused, she was serene. I felt her worry though and I could hear what she was thinking.

Is everything gonna be OK? I nodded, not speaking allowed, but instead telepathically.

Can you hear me? I asked. She nodded, looking into my eyes. What a bond we held. Every thing's alright. No one will be hurt, I promise, but we need you now. Remember what we practiced. She nodded and I kissed her forehead. I had to keep them safe. For the sake of my sanity...for Anika.

Anika

I looked around nervously. I knew that the disgusting, ugly dog things were coming. I didn't know exactly how Ellie knew, but I had learned to take these things for granted. I closed my eyes for a moment and then smiled.

"What is it, Ani?" came Blaise's voice, bewildered that I was smiling.

I struggled to put my thoughts into words- how come it was so easy for them and hard for me? "The doggies are in a stormrain," I said, "And they are going to be a little slower now."

Blaise

Ellie grinned. "Ok, maybe 40 minutes now that Anika has used her power."

I spoke up. "Since WHEN has she had a power?"

"During the battle- oh, you were knocked out," said Corbin, grinning. "Well.... she can control some weather."

Why in the world was I the last to hear of these things?

~Ellie May~

Blaise seemed so confused, but we didn't have time for him to catch up. We were packing, grabbing everyhting we needed, then taking to the sky. I could hear the wolves far away. I held Anika closer to me. I said things would be OK, but not aloud. I wondered where we would go from there.

Blaise

I had planned on holding Anika, but my arm didn't really allow that. Luckily, Ellie had taken her. But the way Anika kept her eyes on me made me less nervous- I knew where she was and she knew where I was.

As we flew- I still felt bad that I couldn't carry anything more than one hands worth- Kaylee stayed on my left, Anika and Ellie on my right. We'd get away from these wolves.

Anika

Every so often, making sure that not even Ellie could figure it out, I sent blasts of lightning onto the wolves. It was hard aiming but I could sense their pounding hearts and running paws.

"When we stoppin?" I asked. Ellie and Blaise answered at the same time.

"I don't know-"

"Soon-"

Blaise laughed. "We don't know for sure, but soon," he said, summing it all up. I nodded, yawned, and watched Blaise and Kaylee.

Corbin~

I could not believe, the wolves again? This was getting annoying. No, it WAS annoying. Heck, what am I talking about? It was the most annoying thing that had ever happened to me. I jumped up and started running, but then stopped, turned around and came back to the camp fire. Ignoring the fact that I was burning my hand, I grabbed one of the fish that was hanging over the fire. I would be flying all day, no doubt, and I knew I couldn't go the whole day with out food. Ester saw me and followed my example. Stuffing my mouth with the scorching hot fish, I looked around to make sure that everyone was getting into the air. I was the last one on the ground.

I flew up, next to Ester and sighed, "When will this ever end?" It seemed like we were constantly on our toes. Wolves, Humans, Hours of flying, and no food. I missed the days when we did nothing but go swimming at the waterfall. This all seemed like a nightmare, and I was desperate to get out of it.

The only good thing about this all was that it had brought us all closer together. Especially me and Ester.
