Dark Fey

Selene
I felt myself relax as the song continued on I relaxed even more in his arms. I felt lips brush my ear and I tensed hearing that all too familiar voice "Having fun Selene?" Keli said teasingly.

Gabe

Just like a Fey to ruin a moment like this. The rest of the song was tense, but the moment it finished we sat down. I knew Keli wasn't a Dark Fey, but she was still really, really annoying. Even more annoying? We couldn't give her a good swipe without revealing we knew what she was.

Luckily, help was on the way. A guy came and asked Selene to dance. She had an alibi- the Fey could try to break my resolve. And if it liked challenges, well, it would enjoy this.

Selene
I shook my head. "No thank you." I said to the guy politely gently taking one of Gabes hands in mine. He looked at me surprised but then understood what I was trying to do.

Gabe

It was a good plan, but Fey were unpredictable. I was hoping that Keli wouldn't bother us anymore. Sometimes- well, all the time- I wished I didn't have this power.

But it was okay when you met someone else with it, I reminded myself. I completely ignored Keli and spoke to Selene like it was any other day. "So, hows your dog?" ok, I had no idea if she had a dog but hey, I had to come up with something.

Selene
"He's doing fine thanks." I said smiling at him. Keli crossed his arms and looked at us skeptically. He walked over and brushed his lips over my cheek. "Nice try sweetheart." He said.

Gabe

This was so awkward, especially since I barely knew Selene, but we had to do it to get Keli off our backs. Unfortunately, the annoying Fey wasn't convinced.

"Nice try, sweetheart," Keli said. I realized we had one thing on our side- Keli didn't know I knew he was there. How to get the annoying Fey off our backs? Well, the fact that I suspected the same thing Keli did! Or at least... I was pretending to.

"You don't seem normal tonight," I said. Selene looked confused. I turned towards her so Keli couldn't see my face. Fake it, I mouthed. Your friends are being mean, your hampster died, anything!

Selene
I shrugged. "Well I just moved here so I'm a little out of it." I said smiling at him. I could practically hear Kelis thoughts to the point he may as well be saying them. 'Yeah right like that loser could ever get Selene.'

Gabe

I heard Keli's thoughts and I winced. I mean, honestly, Keli continued maliciously, as if he knew what I could hear, Why would a pretty girl like Selene go for a complete freak like him? Especially when Selene has the choice of so many boys who obviously appreciate her more.

I stood up abruptly. "I'll be back," I said. This would probably give it away to Keli. Oh well, I didn't really care at the moment. I walked off, still not quite sure why Keli's thoughts bothered me so much. Fey could look into your mind and tell what you were thinking. Maybe Keli had seen Selene's thoughts and known.

Selene
I followed Gabe and grabbed his arm "Gabe don't pay attention to him any girl would be lucky to date a guy as sweet kind and caring as you are." I insisted. "I would consider myself among them." I added blushing.

Gabe

"Right," I said sarcastically. "No, Keli's right." How had she known what Keli was thinking anyway? I didn't really care at the moment.

Selene
"Gabe I mean it I truly and totally mean it." I insisted hurt that he didn't believe me. He looked skeptical and I kissed his cheek. " I do Gabriel List." I said again.

Gabe

I gave her a sheepish grin. So, yeah, the kiss on the cheek kind of made me cool down. "Really?" she nodded, exasperated. "Of course," she said, laughing. "I've kind of been overreacting," I said, slightly embarrassed.

"Keli's a jerk," said Selene with a shrug.

"Speak of the devil," I muttered, "And he will appear." Keli had just zoomed right next to us- again. This time I stayed out of his friggin' thoughts. They were more trouble than they were worth.

I'd like to join. Just tell what has happened so far.

Hobbies: Looking into any water she sees. Swimming. Listening to jazz music.

Hates: Silence. Sand. Being criticized for things she can't control

Personality: Lorietta is a big chatterbox and is a very outgoing person. She will always be ready to defend anyone being picked on, faerie or human. She also can never keep still for very long.

Medical issues: OCD about having to have everything straight and lined up. She also has ADD. She's suppose to take pills but they make her gloomy so she doesn't.

Powers: She can see images in water. By looking into a surface of water she can see people's desires and how it will turn out by saying their name aloud.

Well not much! Two people who can see the Fey, or Faeries, are Gabe and Selene. They've just met. The Fey are trying to convince Selene to admit she can see them, but if you admit it they attack you.

Lorietta:

I had followed Keli here because I had nothing better to do. I stood to the side watching him fail until it just became sad. I grabbed a glass of water and walked over. Grinning happily I said "Hi, I'm Lorietta. You are?" They said nothing but it didn't matter. I knew who they were.

I looked into the glass and quietly whispered "Gabe." And image of him dancing with Selene appeared in the water. Gabe looked at me kind of funny and I instantly knew he knew. I dropped the glass from my hand just in case he might have seen anything. It shattered to the ground and water splayed everywhere.

"Whoops." I said blankly. I grabbed Gabe's hands and pulled him to the dance floor "Please dance with me lovely." I winked at Keli after making sure Gabe wasn't looking.
