Hi! My name is Mary-Sue Smith. I am a senior in my high school in a small town above Albany, New York. I have long brown hair with natural blond and red highlights, large eyes that change color depending what I'm wearing and not a flaw on my face. I am naturally thin and tall and never wear make-up but I still end up looking like Giselle, no matter what I had just been through. Despite my obvious perfection, I still think I'm rather plain looking. I am a straight A student, never had detention in my life and all my teachers love me. I'm the most popular girl in school and everyone is my friend and loves me, even the stoners and people who don't really care about life in general! I volunteer at a nursing home, tutor delinquent children and work with disabled children and sick animals. I am an only child and my mom is the top doctor at the local hospital and my dad is the town sheriff. I get asked out by pretty much every boy in town every day but I don't date any of them because they just aren't "right" for me. :/

Whenever I go to NYC with my best friends (basically half the school), I always get stopped by random people asking me to marry them. Once, Jay-Z himself stopped me and asked me if I could model for him in his next music video. My parents were completely fine with me going off to LA to be in a music video and I made millions of dollars off my modeling career.

Once I came back to my small little nowhere town, I went back into the routine of things. Wake up, shower, throw on anything, grab my book bag and take my shiny Mercedes to school, finish school, hang out with friends, volunteer/tutor/help sick animals, go home, sleep.

I am also a black belt, have an amazing voice and dance like a super star. I am not afraid of anything, can skate board, surf, roller blade and ice skate like a professional. I can play any sport perfectly and never mess up a nail. I love my life. Of course, this entire story would be pointless without a conflict.

Here's a secret, I have wings plus I'm part vampire, part werewolf, part angel, part princess of an underground world, part mermaid, part fire faerie, part spy, part member of a secret assassin organization, part chef and part witch. Shhh. You can't tell. There is this one boy in school whose new. He *GASP* has the same secret as me.

I could tell you the whole story but I have to go help the Alpha team make sure the King of Hell doesn't take over Earth so here's short version.

The boy, whose name is Gary-Stu, finds out and immediately resents me and avoids me. Over time, after we defeated the robots that the French government sent who almost ruined America and the daemon faerie from planet Xertod was defeated, we came to love each other and lived happily ever after, never worrying about jobs or money or danger. From these epic battles, we don't have even one scar on our magically perfect bodies. We have two beautiful human/vampire/werewolf/royal/mermaid/fire faerie/spy/secret assassin/chef/witch children.

THE END

*Sorry, I had to get that out of my system. I so annoyed with Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus in stories -_- :)

Hi!

Oh my god, this was hilarious! I think you did a perfect job of satirizing Mary Sues and Gary Stus, because they're basically what you've described and very prevalent in stories.
My only minor qualm would be to expand on what mary-sues are like in regards to the story, because you just saved a few sentences for that.

Otherwise, it was amazing!

My Rating:
10/10

PM me if you have questions!

:) Lol. I was wondering why the name Mary-Sue sounded so familiar at first. Yeah, that's pretty much how a lot of stories go. Flawless chracters achieving everything and ending up falling in love with the one chracter who hates them. That was funny after I recalled what a Mary-Sue and Gary-Stu was. Lol.

It's surprising how many stories have a flawless main character. It's soo annoying :(

EEWWWWW!!! *shudder* That was awful! I know that was the purpose of the exercise but still. I liked this a lot because of the way things were generalized and perfect in a such a way that it was comical (and barf-worthy). I applaud you.

Ohh my god. I love you so so so much. This was a fantastic example of what NOT to do with your characters. I see so many MCs like this unfortunately, and it's really frustrating. I just love this whole thing it's really fantastic and so overly cliche, but you red so many stories similar to this is what makes it really funny.
we came to love each other and lived happily ever after, never worrying about jobs or money or danger.
LOVE. Just so much love for this Jas. Awesome job!

Also just one little tip, don't post on your own works, it shows up as a review and more often than not people will skip over it because they think it has more reviews than it really does.

Just a tip ;)

Hey jasmine!

I loved this!

It's just so true - the amount of times I've wanted to gauge my eyes out because an author has made everything so cliche, is uncountable :P

There is this one boy in school whose new.

I know this totally isn't in need of being nit-piked, but I found one anyway :P

'whose' should be 'who is'

This made my day :)

Amazing, lovely satire dips of the computer screen. I love how you did this. It seems to perfectly serious and even has a ' a little girl wrote this' tone. Great work! Sounds like every teen novel shoved into one little piece. This most definalty deserves to be featured!

Very nice, but I do have to say: I guess I'm lucky I've barely read any books with MCs like this! At my school we're forced to read so much, and it's sadly making me utterly hate reading. And, the books we're made to read are the bland, in-descriptive plot based books. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing...

Anyways, nice work! Makes even me look at everything, nice work!

Oh, and: "There is this one boy in school whose new." Fix that! Is it saying he knew the secret, or that he is new to the school?
