Hello. I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Amanda. I am thirteen years old and I live in New York. I've been writing since I was four years old. I also enjoy reading and photography. I like writing fantasty, realistic fiction, and historical fiction. I like reading mystery novels, but I tried writing one once and it was an absolute failure.

Anyway, that's about it. :)

Oh, by the way, I like pizza.

Hi Amanda! Welcome to the marvelous Young Writers Society! :smt003

A few pointers for you to help get you started:

1) If you want reviews for your work, try and review for someone else! Once members notice that you are reviewing and not just flooding the forums with your work (contributing to the site), they will be definitely more inspired to return the favor. :D Obviously, you don't need to be too worried about this right now saying as you're still a new member and all, but it is a good thing to keep in mind for the foreseeable future. :P

2) Ask lots of questions! Here on YWS, we're all really excited to help you out with any (ANY!) problems you may be having, from site questions to real-life dilemmas. One way to let off steam or share your excitement with other members is the Blogs. You'll see on that bar at the top of the screen is a bunch of things like My YWS, Groups, and then Blogs. If you click on that, you can see all the most recent entries that members have made to their own blogs, and you can comment on them if you like! There is also a tab that drops down from Blogs that says "My Blog". From there you can click "New Blog Entry", and then write your own!

3) The Chat Room. On the main page of YWS you'll see, just under the feature works, a link that says "Enter Chat Room", under which shows all the members who are currently in the chat. This is a fast, easy, and fun way to meet other members, especially for new members. Keep in mind, though, that everyone pretty much knows everyone to some extent on here, and it might be a little overwhelming at first. Don't worry though, because that feeling goes away in a snap. ;) You'll be making friends in no time. :D

I think that's enough to get you started for now! Anyways, welcome again! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I'm always around. :P

Hello, by the way, I signed your guestbook. :smt024

And, who doesn't like pizza? :smt102 I see you made a post in the Randomness forum about it. I posted my response to the question you asked in it.

Welcome to the YWS! :smt039

LOL! I would hope that you like pizza, living in New York! My Italian family lives there and they're constantly like, "Manga, manga!" Anyway, I hear the pizza is awesome there. :)

And finally! Someone else, lol. I adore mystery novels, but I cannot write them worth anything. It's really terrible. I keep on trying, but I keep on failing miserably. However, I am stubborn and will not give up. ONE DAY.

My current attempt is a mystery in a fantasy world... and yep. It's going to fail miserably. XD

Welcome to YWS! :D

Yeah, we have pretty good pizza in New York. The town I live in has ten pizzerias. That's no lie.

Good luck writing your mystery novel. I tried writing a mystery a while ago. Needless to say, I failed.

Hey there! I see we have some things in common... I like pizza (but I'm from Montana so I've never had any good pizza :? ) and my name is also Amanda :).

Don't worry about some of your stories being failures. That happens to me a lot too. I got four chapters into one of my books when I realized that it just wasn't working...

Anyways, welcome to YWS!

Hey Amanda! Welcome to YWS. You're going to love it here!

I think I like you. We seem to have a lot in common; we're both thirteen, and both like reading and photography. Mystery and Historical Fiction are both pretty wicked as well. So is pizza.

Anyway, drop me a PM if you need anything.
