Chantelle

We meet after the resteraut closes.

"Whats your name?" I ask her.

"Reese," She replys, "And you?"

"Chantelle..." I stare off into the distance for a minute.

"Who knew there were others... I thought I was alone." She said.

"As did I, but it apears not." I said. "Oh, and I am going to the national competition in New YOrk city tomorow. I am allowed to bring someone. Would you like to come, if your family doesn't mind?"

"I have no family. But I would love to come. I assume your family..."

"I never had any, but I need to bring someone with me. How old are you?"

"Seventeen." She says.

"You could pass for my older sister. I need an asult with me, not nessisarily a parent. Adopted sister, maybe. We don't look much alike." I comment. She seems very happy at my offer.

"How are we getting there?"

"I can fly, you will have to take the plane. I will pay, of course."

Seven- Giant Otter

Seth's scaly form seemed to have disappeared into the depths of the lake. She cursed him inwardly but found it hard to smother a smile that tugged at her lips. Jerk. Just wait 'till I kick his ass later. Her trademark wry grin tugged at her lips and she found herself chuckling lowly at the thoughts of her best friend.
She suddenly became aware of the other boy's presence again, stifling a snort with her hand. She had no idea what he had saw or how long he had been watching, and found the concept hilarious. The blush only intensified as she doubled over, shoulders shuddering with the effort not to laugh. With an amused sigh she straightened up and managed to chuckle, "Err, I'm not crazy. Just in case you think I am."

"Really?" The boy seemed amused.

"Oh yeah," she found herself drabbling, nodding as if she were totally serious. "Totally sane. That's me. I'm not weird. At all.Toooootally normal." She made a low whistling noise, bouncing around slightly on her toes.

"Define normal?" he smiled and she found herself breaking into laughter again.

Instead of replying she extended her right hand confidently, her dark eyes twinkling with mirth. "Hey, I'm Seven. Nice to meet ya."

Seth- Salt Water Crocodile

"Boo."

He cackled and tossed his head back, grabbing Sev from behind. She squealed and promptly smacked him on the arm, huffing and stepping back, rubbing her sides where he had nipped her.

"Jerk." She grumbled and swiped at him again, which he dodged by taking a leisurely step back. His pale green irises drifted over to her male companion, glinting daringly in challenge. He seemed either not to care or to notice, but looked back at him none the less, most likely eyeing his scar that snaked across his throat.

"He's not bothering you, is he?" he turned to Seven. Seth rolled his shoulders and smirked, turning away.

"I'll be back when you're done on your date, Sev. Send me a text." He chuckled sarcastcally, shoving his hands in his jeans pockets and strolling leisurely away.

"In your dreams, jackass," she called back, her playful tone giving her away as always/

**Cat4prowl, you can continue Sev and Kai's interaction before Seth appeared if you want :P Um, maybe Seth could run into the others at the cafe? The doctor will be wanting to recruit him again to his side so maybe one of the hybrids that work for the doctor could run into him (Kuro, maybe? :P)***

Kuro -Komodo Dragon

As soon as I emerged from the subway I looked around, dazed. It was the second time I was in the outside world. It was cold, noisy and bright and I didn't like it. Why would anyone ever want to live here? I asked myself, shivering. Like I said, it was cold- and that wasn't good for a reptilian like me.

Walking around aimlessly, trying to avoid the many people walking past and narrowly avoiding the many cars that honked at me; as if I was the reason for the never ending snake of trawling traffic. My mind slid back to what the Doctor had said to me...

"Kuro, Our resources have been stretched to the limits. I know that you aren't going to like this, but, I need yo u to go to New York and look for my children- your brothers and sisters."

I blinked and, like every other time I remembered those words I felt a warm feeling go through my body, 'brothers and sisters'... Family.

Someone banged into me roughly and I snapped back to reality, too late- my bag, my money, everything was gone. Everything had been stolen.

I looked around heightening my senses of hearing and smelling, nothing. Feeling a wave of despair, I ran over to the nearest green area. and tried to breath in some form of 'fresh air'- to no avail. Suddenly I realized that I had no way of contacting home, no way of getting back to my sanctuary. Also, if the people in this world were cruel enough to take things from others like that, why would anyone ever stop to help me?

I sniffed; this was too much- way too much. Why had the Doctor asked me to go? I crouched down and held myself in the foetal position, wanting the world to go away and not caring that some people had stopped to watch me suffer. It was just another example of how uncaring the people here are.

*Just a note, the thief isn't anyone in particular, unless you want it to be your character... However, it would be nice if someone were to come across Kuro and help him out of his predicament*

Amy

"Amy," she said. She immedeatly remembered the long scar on her face and felt self conscious - as she always did. Amy moved a hand to her face to try to cover it. She didn't know anyone who had scars like this. Her...mother had told her that they were a result of the experiments done on her by the doc. That's why they were so prominant. Only the experiments had them.

"Don't cover it up, I don't care," Vi said, smiling. She lifted her hand to reveal an X shaped scar on her hand. "I've got one too."

Amy's heart stopped. It was the same kind of scar as her own. "W-where did you get that scar?"

I arive at the subway. Me and Reese agreeded to meet just below central park. I see a guy sitting on a bench. His head is in his hands. He looks more than mildly upset.

"Are you okay?" I ask, sitting beside him .hE sighs and looks up. ANd the impossible happens.

I meet another like me.

Its so obvious. His eyes are sparkling black. Mine are solid gold. This was the second person in a week I met like me.

"I'm fine, I guess." He says. He looks me over.

"Are you a hybrid." He says in a low tone.

"What's a hybrid--oh, yes, I am..." I said, suddenly understanding. Then Reese arives.

"Who's..." She starts to ask, then dropps her luggage. She sees his eyes, he see's ours, what a crazy world this was.

Alicia Bald eagle

**Moo, is it ok if she runs into him?**

Alicia had nothing to do in Central Park, New York wasn't her thing, big cities kind of gave her a headache and she detested have headaches. Besides, she barely remembered what the real world was like so what was the whole point of being in a big city? well, at least she got to buy some things which for her was good. At least, there hadn't been a good opportunity to be an eagle again. Somehow she missed that.

So she continued walking, strolling through the park and observing everything around here since it had been a while since she had last being there. She didn't quite remember it but it was sort of nice looking. All of a sudden she saw a cafe and thought to herself that it would be nice to sit down for a while and enjoy a nice hot cappuccino. The cafe inside was quite cozy, the smell sent tickles though her throat so she sat next to a window where the smell wasn't that strong.

It had been a while since she had been there when all of a sudden she saw someone standing next to her.

"Hey." He said with a smile, "can I sit or..." But she didn't let him finish.

"Yeah, sure," She said. So he took the chair and sat down. There was something about that boy, besides the fact that his hair was wet of course.

"I'm Seth by the way" He said.

"Alicia" She said stretching out her hand.

Kuro- Komodo Dragon

There was two girls, they were looking at me in astonishment. I forgot that my mind was in turmoil and after seeing someone like me, despite the probabilities. I just had to unload.
'You see, I just came here and as soon as I got off the subway, I was robbed. All my money... My belongings! What am I going to do?'
The girls looked at me sympathetically and my animal counterpart kicks in, I start to get really tired and cold, I am drowsy, very, very, drowsy. 'What's wrong?' The girl nearest me asks.

'Animal- counter-part lizard- going- to sleep- now,,,' Blackness enveloped my mind, I welcomed it, it washed away the bad things- the stress, the cold, the noise. My last thoughts were- I wonder what will happen to me while I'm asleep? I hoped that the two girls would at least watch over me for a while- after all they were the first people to be kind to me all day...

Name: Spot. Just Spot.

Age: 19

Gender: female

Animal counterpart: Image

Appearance: Lanky, usually hunched over. Very short (like guy-short) scruffy dirty-blonde hair. Intense dark eyes and a strong jaw. Usually wears an old trench coat she apparently dug out of the garbage. Has a few scars, the most prominent being one running down from her left temple and along her jaw.

Personality: At first, Spot seems abrasive, violent, and completely insane. As you get to know her, though, it becomes hard to tell if she's not a lot saner and smarter than she acts. Her sense of humor my be either nonsensical or sardonic, depending on her mood. When she gets angry, she may turn violent. Once you get her to trust you (a difficult process) she'll stick with you to the end.

Abilities: Wonderful night vision, great senses of smell and hearing. Quite a bit stronger than you'd expect. Good endurance.

Experiment number: 6

Side: For... for now.

History: Feral little thing that she was, Spot somehow managed to get away from her rescuers and is now living on the streets.

Other: Walks with a slight limp from getting hit by a car. All her clothes look like they were dug out of a trash bin (which they probably were) save her shoes, a pair of waterproof boots lifted from an army surplus store. Up for love, but it'll take some real effort.

I look at Reese. "Lets bring him to the hotel." She nods. Not caring how I looks, I atempted to pick him up. I can't, I am not strong enough.

"I will carry him." Reese said. She grabbed him and picked him up. I got the luggage.

We carried him to the large hotel room I got. I put him on the bed and turn the heat up to 90. I leave the room, it was already a uncofmtorable tempeture for me.

Six- 'Spot'- Hyena

The guy had left himself wiiiide open. Seriously, he had to be stupid, running around with his bag hanging off his back like that. There was a huge bulge in the side pocket where a wallet or a phone had to be. Just tell me he wasn't asking for it.

All I had to do was run at him, give the bag a good solid yank, and I was home free. I'd done it tons of times before. And get this: the guy didn't even CHASE me! I didn't do anything wrong. I just took advantage of someone else being dumb. Nothing wrong with that.

I ducked into a side alley and looked over my winnings. A wallet with eighty dollars- very nice. No more eating roadkill or digging out of dumpsters for a while. Maybe I could get a new t-shirt. This one was getting really worn.

Voices. I peered out around the wall and noticed the guy curled up on a bench. He looked real upset, and there were two rich-looking girls (well, rich compared to me anyways) talking to him. Probably trying to make him feel better.

I felt a weird pain in my gut watching them. It annoyed me, because whenever I bothered talking to people and asked what it was, they said it was guilt. And that's impossible- only weak people feel guilty about stuff.

The breeze shifted, and so did everything else. My nose twitched as I took in the foreign smells.

They weren't people. They were like me.

"OUCH!" I spun around with a snarl as a rock pegged me in the back. A few dirty middle-school boys were standing around with rocks and sticks and cans. They're where I got my name from. They called me Spot because they said I act like a dog. While it's not real flattering, it's better than not having a name at all.

They laughed and threw more rocks. I don't know why I've let them live so long, but every time I feel like going after 'em and ripping their throats out, that weird pain starts in my gut and I decide not to. Instead I grabbed my bag and ran back out into the street.

I tried to avoid being seen by the two girls and that boy I lifted the bag from as I passed them by.

Kuro

Hot! I opened my eyes and looked around, either a) I was dead and heavens boiler had broken, or someone was trying to help me... A little to much though. I jumped up and saw one of the girls from earlier, 'Hi...' I said awkwardly walking over to the thermostat and putting it back down to normal room temperature, 'Where's the other one?'

After the other girl came back in, we sat down and looked at each other, there was an awkward silence, 'So, what's your name?' The one with the brown hair asked.

'K-Kuro' came my reply, 'What about you?'

Kai- Bottlenose Dolphin Central Park

Seven. An odd name. It reminded him instantly of Dr. Whiteside. Seemed like he couldn't go anywhere without being reminded. Except underwater, of course, and there wasn't any saltwater near here. But back to reality. Seven seemed friendly, and she was pretty, but something was off. She was restless and moved strangely, her eyes were unusually round...

It wasn't entirely far-fetched to think that she might be a hybrid. Of what he didn't know but it was kind of fun to guess. Something playful and fast. Like a squirrel, maybe, but not as nervous.

Kai realized he'd been staring, and that a smile was still on his face. Course he was always smiling, so it wasn't really unusual. But he really should probably speak up, "I'm Kai."

He decided to give her a clue about Dr. Whiteside. "Funny that your name is Seven. Where I'm from, some people know me as eight." He grinned to disguise it, but kept his eye contact steady.

Her bright eyes narrowed and she opened her mouth-

"Boo."

A guy who Kai assumed was her "sis-brother Sibling" grabbed Seven from behind, making her squeal. She reacted playfully, smacking him, the way she moved reminding him of something animal. Surely he couldn't be so lucky that the first person he met was just who he was looking for?

Whatever the case, she was starting to seem like a fun companion. "Jerk," she quipped, taking another swipe at him.

The guy was looking at him now, cold green eyes calculating, challenging, sizing him up. Now this one, this one was animal. Something predatory. And he was sizing Kai up. Entertained, Kai wondered what he saw. Kai hadn't seen himself as a human in years, but he did seem to be taller, his body trim from all the swimming. Maybe now he was threatening enough to pose a threat against Dr. Whiteside.

"He's not bothering you, is he?"

Kai hoped not. He glanced toward Seven, who seemed at ease, and then back at her 'sibling'. He seemed protective, but they looked nothing alike.

"I'll be back when you're done on your date, Sev. Send me a text." Kai grinned when he realized the guy was teasing her. They were a funny pair, he thought. Very entertaining. It made him like the both of them more to see it. At least, if they were hybrids, they didn't let it get them down.

The guy left, moving powerfully and surprisingly fast. Seven yelled after him, teasing him right back.

Kai danced a few steps closer to her, as he would have done if he were in his dolphin form, and grinned, "I take it that's your 'sibling'?"
