Haven't been on here in a long time, glad to be back. I think I'll celebrate by opening an old storybook again, but with some changes. Hopefully Bonnie will be joining me on this one, if so, she'll be my partner in crime and help to moderate the story

The story
There is a group of teenagers in New York. They've always known they were different from their peers, but have never been able to put their finger on the cause.. For some of them, their senses are sharp and above anything else a normal human could achieve. Others are impossibly strong, insanely fast, unusually agile. They never thought much of it... until they changed. Suddenly it makes sense. This gifts, these powers were inhereted from their alternate forms, their counterparts. Animal counterparts. And as time passes the truth arrives about how they came to being. Suddenly they aren't just kids in a perfect universe. They are experiments gone wrong in cruel world, chased by their creator, their father. After an act of betrayal, the teenagers were stolen as babies and spred out over the world for their own saftey, to avoid becoming slaves to their master's bidding. The side they take is their own decision; return to your origins and your master, or speed you your life running from his wrath.

Plot

As explained above, you play as one of these teenagers. They were experimented on as babies in a huge government operation, in order to create genetically enhanced soldiers to fight in wars. Their creator, only known as Dr. Whiteside, mixed their DNA with that of animals.

The result was amazing.

His wife saw the cruel experiments, and saw the nature of her husband suddenly turn sinister, tainted by the experiments. Guilt nearly destroyed her, until she took fifteen of the children and smuggled them from the facility with the help of a few other rebels, some of which who had performed the experiments themselves. Some of the helpers took a child on as their own, the others were distributed to orphanages. In a blind rage at his estranged wife, he sent some of his loyal part-animal servants to rid him of her.

Now, nothing stands in his way. An upcoming war in the world demands the soldiers he promised them and he is adamant that they will be delivered. Pick a side: For the doctor, or against him.

Characters

All of the children are either adopted by one of the helpers of Mrs. Whiteside or out on the streets.

Each of the teenagers has ONE animal they can shift to. They inherit visable physical traits to that animal. For example, a cheetah shapeshifter may be lanky, sandy hair and dark eyes. She would also be able to run extremely quickly, both in animal and human form, and have heightened senses, like her cat form.

Dr. Whitesides shapeshifters are usually people with powerful or dangerous animal counterparts.

Rules

-Up to two characters per person.

-Each animal may only be used ONCE.

-The animal counterpart may be any LIVING animal that is not extinct. No dinos or mythicals.

-Post at least once every three days. That way things keep moving

-No God-modding. Fights must be fairly roleplayed, not even Whitesides shapeshifters are invincible.

-Swearing is permitted, as is gore. Don't overdo it though.

-No sex scenes. Love is fine, just don't take it too far.

-Fill out a detailed character form, that way, they're more fun to write.

-No one may start the storybook without my or Bonnie's permission.

-Have fun and enjoy writing

Scars from experiments: Nothing huge, just a short cut down her wrist.

Personality: She is a day-dreamer, but she is allways full of hope. She is one of the most positive people you will ever meet, and really sweet. She always has a compliment for everyone. She is the kind of person who is forever loyal and always has your back.

Abilities: Great hearing, she can see amazingly well, and she also reacts very quickly to anything, can prosses things quickly.

Experiment number: 4, her lucky number.

Side: Against.

History: She was left to herself. Totally alone. She learned to play guitar and she was already a good singer, so she did that to make money. She actually did very well off of that and made all her money honestly. She developed great values and self-esteem over time.

Other: She is definetly up for love. She always has her guitar, pick and a messenger bag with her. In the bag she keeps all her money and her journal.

Name: Amy

Age: 18

Gender: female

Animal counterpart: Eastern Timber Wolf

Appearance: Average height. Shaggy, shoulder length hair (color similar to the wolf’s fur in the picture). Golden brown eyes. She isn’t really muscular, but not super skinny either. She usually dresses in jeans and solid color t-shirts and almost always is wearing a thin black jacket. She always wears this necklace which was given to her by the helper who took her in.

Scars from experiments: one across her left shoulder blade and another from the side of her right eye to the right corner of her mouth

Personality: Amy is very friendly and craves human companionship, though she has been on her own for about a year. She loves to be outside, especially at night. She’ll often disappear on walks at midnight, which continuously drove her adoptive mother to her wits ends. Amy is relatively smart, not astonishingly intelligent or anything but smart.

Abilities: Increases sense of smell, hearing, and speed as well as some increase in her human strength

Experiment number: 7

Side: Against

History: Amy was taken in by one of Mrs. Whiteside’s helpers until she turned eighteen when she was put out on the streets, the helper only consenting to keeping Amy around until she was an adult. Despite the helper’s reluctancy to take Amy in, she lived a pretty happy life. She moved around a lot, so she never made many friends.

Chinchilla! Good to see you again ^^ I'd prefer it if you used a fox, as arctic wolves/timber wolves are pretty similar other than the fact arctics are white. It keeps variety, you know?

Also, anyone else who joins, try not to pic domestic animals like cats etc. There are loads of interesting animals to choose from.

Name: Seven Heartfield

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Animal counterpart: Giant Otter

Appearance: Sleek, dark brown hair that is almost velvety to the touch, with a fringe that sweeps just above her dark eyes. Tall and slender build, with small, dainty hands that have slight more webbing than the normal human hand. She appears somewhat awkward in movement, but in water, can swim with much grace.
Scars from experiments: A long, white, thin scar that curves around her left thumb towards her palm, snaking down to her wrist, ending at the crook of her elbow.

Personality: Fun loving, bubbly, and hilariously weird. Sev likes to be different and rarely stops to think of other people's opinions of her. She's forward and honest; shy just isn't a word in her dictionary. Sev is polite and friendly towards most, but it doesn't take much to make her an enemy. Her temper is firey and easily ignited. Hurt her or her friends and she won't hesitate to start throwing fists. The thing she is particularly sensitive about is her scar, and is easily upset by people pointing out its easily visable form. She tries to take pride in it, but often ends up hiding it by layering long sleeved tops under her T shirts.

Abilities: Her senses of smell and hearing are amazingly acute. She can also see things from large distances away, but only in daylight. Barely feels the cold.

Experiment number: Seven.

Side: Against.

History: Seven was treated horrifically as a child. Her experiments were brutal and violent. She was understandably defiant, often refusing to take part, resorting to biting and scratching her experimentors. They only beat her all the harder, up to the point she lost all memory of herself. Her beating was what inspired Mrs Whiteside to take the children. She was taken by Dr. Whiteside's assistant, who still cares for her as her father to this date. As she couldn't remember her name, she began to call herself by her experiment number, hoping that she would remember more about her past self.

Other: Her left arm is somewhat weaker than her right from the injury. Up for love/friendship. PM me for any offers.



Name: Seth O'Conner (Goes by Set mostly.)

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Animal counterpart: Salt Water Crocodile.

Appearance: Seth is strongly built, pretty much summed up as 6ft of muscle and appetite. He's not a brute of a guy, as he is thinner and has a very slighty lanky appearance. His hear is a shortish, messy shade of light brown, with light, mossy coloured eyes that could only be described as 'crocodile green.'

Scars from experiments: A thin, red scar that resides just on the very edge of his left eye. It cuts off over his brow and starts again at the lower curve of his eyesocket, stopping at his cheekbone. He has another small scar snaking around the left half of his throat However, most of his scars are across his shoulder blades, usually unseen.

Personality: Confident, proud, and cocky. He takes pride in his ability to defend himself and those around him and thinks of himself as a bit of a protector. He rarely ever shows anger, and strikes opponents with a sly grin on his face, knowing that they never seen it coming. He would never turn down a challenge, and loves to play cat and mouse.

Abilities: Sharp eyesight. Brute strength, mostly in his jaws (both in human and croc form.) Amazingly fast reflexes and endless patience.

Experiment number: One. He was the first shifter to be created.

Side: Against, but will change sides during the story.

History: Was taken in by an orphanage. As he was the first experiment, their methods were primitive and this resulted in many painful memories and the scars to prove they happened. His memories are vivid, but he sees what happened as a gift. He lived a fairly unhappy life until he left the orphanage and went to school, becoming friends with Sev through school. He was expelled in his last year for getting into a fight. Someone deeply upset Sev with taunts about her scars, resulting in a short yet chaotic skirmish where Set bit off a large section of the other person's hand. He now resides in the Reservoir in Cental park. People have been noticing their pets going missing around the lake, and it has caught the eye of the media...

Other: Definately up for love, I'd like to write a potential relationship with him. xD again, PM me for any offers.

Name: Alicia Parker

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Animal counterpart: A bald eagle

Appearance: She's medium height, around 5'5 with a beautiful porcelain like skin, flawless all over, not one spot if not for her scars. Her hair is silky reddish brown with long wavy locks that are usually really well done. Her face is really feminine and her cheeks have a natural rose blush somehow like the rosy color of her quite full lips. She has big blues eyes too.

Scars from experiments: For some reason, somehow she has scars on her wrists, big, round scars, three on each wrist. Apparently, from what she remembers, they are from the time when they were trying to get blood samples from her and the animal she was turning into. For nor known reason something went wrong, and they had to connect her to more tubes in order to keep her alive. But as she was unconscious, they took advantage of that and mixed her blood with that of the animal and introduced some element to it.

Personality: Perky, extremely hyper and joyful but still cold hearted and ambitious to the extreme. She likes being around friends and being the center of attention, she loves having people around because it makes her feel important. But as a counterpart to that, she doesn't care if she hurts others, not cares about others problems. She;s cold hearted, if she has to treat you like trash to get what she wants, she'll do it. But she's also strong, she doesn't let anyone push her around and tell her what to do, which makes her a little rebel. So she's a world of contraries.But one thing that is always constant, is her way of loving and hating. She loves passionately and hates with all her might.

Abilities: Her eyesight is extremely developed, she has an extremely acute eyesight. She can see things that are far, far ,far away and she can even sense temperature changes. Her speed also increases but not as much as her eyesight. Hearing also increases but not as much when human.

Experiment number: 9

Side: against.

History: She was taken at the age of seven, brutally separated from her family. She didn't even know what was going on. She was one of the last ones to experiment but what she experienced was the worst ever. The doctors who were experimenting with her took advantage of the perfect health she had, putting her in extreme, inhuman situations for such a little girl. She remember very little but the few memories she has, are like nightmares. She began to learn more about herself as the time went by but since she was recently released, a reason for her changes of mood can be the experiences she had as a little girl. She now lives with a family that says is hers but since she doesn't remember very well, she accepted to live with them.

Other: One of her disabilities is her lack of self control and changes in her mood. She also tends to forget things, thing which makes her laugh because she forgets names dates, places,etc. Her most priced possesion is a silver necklace with heart that says with love. She still doesn't know who gave it to her, but she feels a strong attachment to it.

She's totally up for love, and friendship.

Appearance: Tan skin and black hair that are at odds with his light blue eyes. He's relatively tall and well-built.

Scars from experiments: One across his palm, and another that goes down his left cheek. He’s got several more on his back.

Personality: Short-tempered and uses sarcasm a whole lot more than he probably should. Because of this he doesn’t have many (if any), friends. Despite this he does have a soft side, if you can get through to him.

Abilities: He’s got venomous spit, he can see heat if he concentrates, and he can travel pretty much silently.

Experiment number: 13

Side: For the Doctor

History: He was taken in by one of Whiteside’s helpers. As he grew older he realized that this helper wasn’t his real parent, and demanded, quite vehemently, to meet his “father”. After much persuading he finally met the man, and agreed to work for him.

Other: Up for love. He has trouble keeping his body temperature steady, and tends to hang around heaters, fireplaces, and windows when the sun’s out.
