Well, it was about damn time things started going my way! This car...this car was amazing. I looked inside and saw that it had some button for an overwater mode, which I probably wouldn't use, but it was still pretty damn cool of a feature.

I jumped into the driver seat and Maitea hopped into the passenger seat. I quickly shot it into full speed down the road. Maitea was a little bit shocked that I was going so fast instantly. Me, I enjoyed the hell out of it. No roof, so I could feel some wind blasting through my hair. I quickly plugged my MP3 player into the car and turned the volume up to "Cherry Bomb" by the Runaways.

The car was fast enough to get to the actual city about twice as fast as the General Lee did. I slowed it down and lowered the volume as we got onto the streets. I enjoyed the ride, but I really didn't want to get in trouble again by doing something illegal. I was back on everybody's good side, aside from maybe Reg, but the two of us even had turned our anger to each other into a quiet hatred, or so I found.

I still needed a drink, though. I pulled over by a liquor store and unfastened the seat belt. Although I trusted her, I wanted to be extremely certain on one thing with everybody I let into this new, awesome car.

"I swear to god, if you drive away with this car, I will run you over with it", I told her. She felt a little nervous from that statement. I felt a little bizarre saying it as well. I think I was a teensy bit drunk. Might explain why I just used the word "teensy".

I went in and out with a six pack that I put in the trunk, and felt better than I had in months. I felt good enough that I did something I didn't suspect of myself.

"You wanna drive this baby out of the city?", I asked Maitea. She jumped right into the driver seat as I said that. I jumped into the passenger seat with a bottle of beer in my hand.

I expected the happiness she had driving down the road. I didn't expect her to be happy enough to speed the car off right away. Maybe it wasn't happyness, actually. Maybe she was really just stupid enough not to realize how fast the car could actually good. We had some cops behind us in about a minute after she realized how fast she actually went.

"Ironic, ain't it? That the tempermental drunk isn't the one getting pulled over?

Bree sits there looking at me as I glare at the circled wedding dress. I smile and look up to her. I decide to sit up and take a sip of my tea that's on my bedside table. Bree lets out a childish giggle. I turn the magazine to face her, with the circled wedding dress pointed to her eyes.

"What?" she says abruptly, a little upset.

I laugh. "You want to go with dear Riles and buy this then?"

"Huh, why?" she asks, confused and timidly.

"Well, why not?" I reply, grinning widely. "What's your size?"

"--Like I said, Reg, it's for a friend," Bree remarks, taken aback.

"Aw, c'mon, Bree," I say, jokily. It was as if I were toying with her. "You're tougher than this, tell me the truth, eh?"

She pauses momentarily, "Reg, I told you--"

I interrupt her by getting out of the bed and getting down on one knee, I look stupid, but who cares. This was my one moment that the tough guy wasn't on my outer shell. Right now, no-one mattered. Bree began to blush. She'd grown soft on me recently, more emotional, but that just made her all the more enticing. I grin, slightly embarrased, slightly nervous.

"Reg, what you doin'?" She asks, shy and red-faced.

I pull out a little gummy-candy ring I'd picked up on the way back from the hospital. "Fancy spendin' the rest of your life with me, Bree?" I ask.

She let's out a single tear, before replying...

I could have said so many things, some ridiculously romantic that only belonged in a movie, and some sarcastic ones Riley would have used.

I decide on a simple, "Yes!" Reg sweeps me up into a quick kiss. He puts me down.

"I love you." He murmers into my hair.

"I love you to. Wait, I have yo tell Rily." I say, I sprint down the stairs. She was outside.

"Riley, Riley, Riley, guess what?" I said. She frowned.

"If Max and Maitea blew up, I am not interested." She said. I rolled my eyes.

"No, Reg proposed."

"And I hope you said yes." She reponed. The lack of enthuisasm was killing me.

"Of course I did!" I responded. Riley gave me a quick hug.

Riley

This was strangely expected, but it caught me off guard. I was happy for her though. Reg was exactly the type of person she needed. I give a big grin. She is crying happy tears.

I know the wedding will have to be elaborate, it would be what she wanted. I try and picture Reg in a tux, and laugh.

"What?" Bree asks.

"Nothing, just picturing Reg in a tux." I say. She laughs too.

Suzie runs out. "Congratulations!" She says, giving Bree a hug. Reg stands in the doorway. Bree runs back to him. They are so cute, it looks like something out of a movie. I almost laugh again.

Suzie whispers to me, "About how much are we going to spend on the wedding?"

"A lot more than I have...at the moment." I say. She laughs again.

"Whats going on?" Alis asks, coming from inside the house.

"Reg and Bree are getting married." I said. Alis grins. That was unusual. I almost forgot how much she enjoyed weddings. Not attending them, but the decorations. I would put her in charge of that.

"Outside or inside?" She asks.

"Please, there only just engaged. We can work on the details later."

Three things were very obvious:

First, Bree and Reg were perfect for each other. He would protect her, and she would do the same for him.

Second, Riley was going to go over the top with this wedding.

Third, I was going to help her do that.

"Please, there only just engaged. We can work on the details later." Riley says. I am mildly disapointed. My decorating skills are not to shabby, and I had seen enough weddings to know the do's and dont's. I let out a quiet laugh.

Maitea and Max pull up. Maitea has some blood on her shirt, but looks mildly happy. Max looks totally out of it. Drunk. I angrily lead him up to his room and remind myself to give him a good wack over the head later. If I remembered.

I walk back downstairs, for once happy to be in the middle of a non-violent action. Maitea goes to clean the blood off her shirt. She looks even more happy then Suzie. They are both jumping up and down, obviously more than just 'happy'.

I run up to Bree's room to fetch a a bunch of magazines she kept on good weddings. I notcie one open, a dress circled. She was making this so easy.

Great, Max has the cops after us. I put the car into auto-drive, a feature that was removed from cars almost ten years ago. I turn around, and take out my gun. I aim carfully. They are all dead in less than a minute. The crusier stops, I know I have succeeded. I curse the rest of the way home.

I see Bree and Reg standing next to each other, Bree's eyes slightly tear covered.

"What happened?" I ask.

"Reg and Bree are getting married." Riley said. I jump up and down out of joy. Already my mind jumps ahead to wedding plans and such. I hear Riley tell Alis the plans will have to wait. I sigh. Me and Suzie quickly celebrate, then I go to see Alis.

"What do you already have planed." Knowing her, she could have the whole thing done already.

"I'm thinking the wedding could be just outside here, the scene is so lovely. All white and gold, of ocurse, there Bree's favorite colors. No pink, Reg hates pink. I can only imagine what he thinks of her car." She says. Alis is always nice when there is a wedding she gets to help plan. I smile.

"What about some red?" I suggest.

"No, we don't need to be reminded of blood at a wedding."

"What about Blue and Gold?"

"Perfect, thats brilliant. Besides the dress, of course. Look at the one Bree picked out, isn't it lovely. It suits her perfectly."

I take a look, "It is beautiful."

"Yes. There's so much to do though..." She says. I laugh. This was going to be perfect.

When Bree walks away from Reg to go get something, don't ask me what, I go up to her.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I ask. She frowns.

"Yes, Riley, I am sure. way to kill my mood." SHe says. I roll my eyes. She smiles.

"Just making sure. I think for once, Alis's mind is not in the midst of an evil plan."

"Already, ugh! She probably already has the whole thing..." Bree walks in to see her magazines all over the table. I back off to go congratulate Reg.

Bree

I look at all my magazines all over the table. Alis has a pencil between her teeth, Maitea has a red pen behind her ear. Maitea points at a picture of italy.

Alis says, "I am not sure, it might be too similar to Spain. And five bucks Bree has already been there."

"You know, you might want to ask her before you diverge yourself in HER wedding plans." I say coolly. Then turn around. Their faces are equal masks of horror.

"You know, you just go back with Reg and leave the wedding to us." Alis said. Same old tone of voice she usually used. I roll my eyes. I sit down beside them.

"So, what are some of the ideas you have?"

After I congratulated Bree and Reg, I disappeared into the house.

I noticed that I was becoming very good at being right there, but still unnoticed--even better than I was in Spain. I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.

Wandering around the house, I thought about how different the gang would be now. It wasn't that I wasn't happy for them; trust me. I was completely thrilled that they'd found so much in each other that they wanted to be together for the rest of their lives. If anyone deserved it, it was them. But things would be different, definitely. And maybe even in a good way.

I smiled when I found Alis and Maitea at the table, poring over magazines and chattering happily. Making my way around the table, I examined each open page. "Oh," I gasped when I saw the dress. "That's quite a dress."

"Isn't it perfect?" Alis breathed.

I shrugged. "It's very beautiful, but I can't say I'm an expert on dresses. I guess that's why you're doing the planning, and not me." I went into the kitchen to brew a pot of coffee, and then returned and took a seat at the table. "There's, um, coffee. You know. In the kitchen. If you want it." I wondered why I had to be a flailing idiot, and then continued, "I don't know how late you're going to be up plotting the wedding of the century." I took a sip from my own mug and continued watching the skeleton of a wedding form and start to flesh out.

Bree came in soon after, for a moment a bit indignant about her wedding being planned right there without her, and then naturally wanting to know what ideas they had. I extended the offer of coffee to her as well.

Ace offered me some coffe. I gladly accepted. Less than a minute later I was sitting back on the sofa with nice, black cofee in my hands.

"What do you think," I ask Ace, "blue and gold, or white and gold?"

"Uh, I don't know. I kinda like the blue and gold." He says.

"Me too," Maitea says, "the white and gold would be too light."

"Oh, lets pick out the dresses next!" Suzie said excitedly. I pointed to my wedding gown.

"The bridesmaid ones, she means." Alis said.

"I like those." Ace said, pointing to a picture of a bunch of girls in light blue dresses. Honestly, I liked them too.

"The're elegant, and classy." Alis said. I totally agreed.

The girls (and Ace) were in the living room, already emerged in wedding plans. I sat outside with Reg.

"You think she is going to overdo this?" I ask Reg.

"If it makes her 'appy, well...." He says

"You know she is going to overdo it."

"Yes, she will." He says. Suddenly I realize something, Regi s going to be my brother-in-law. That was a strange thought. I wasn't oposed to it, it was just odd.

"Breighton Carter." I say the name out loud, to hear how it would sound. It sounded normal, natural, like it was meant to be that way.

"That sounds nice." Reg said, he put his head against a tree. He closes his eyes.

"You know they will force you into a tux. Well, maybe not Bree, but Alis sure will." I laugh loudly, thinking about the amount of complaining he would do.

"And they'll make you wear a dress." He said, I groweled. I hated the limited range of motion dresses gave you. Expecally the long ones.

As I sat outside with my sister-in-law to be, I thought about the present for once. No more dark past and no more happy future... just the present. The beautiful sounds of the wind and the golden crust of the autumn leaves.
Then I looked at Riles and grinned immaturely.

"What?" She says, taken aback.

"Noting," I muse. "Just realised I've known you for a hell'uv a long time."

She laughs. "Too right."

I close my eyes and go back into the thoughts of the current. Riley is silent and admiring everything. Something weird happened in that moment. I was drugged with thousands of images. It was the first time since Uncle Freddy that I'd thought to compile the framework of my past and try and find someone who was responsible. My mind twisted and scowled as I ran through all the possible ideas; the wavelengths and the people who might've killed my sister... As I pieced it together I remembered someone. It wasn't Uncle Freddy, but I remembered him. He stood in the same office as my Uncle, he smiles at me -- I am just 12 -- then my parents come in the room... I shoot them... grab my sister and run.

That was when it hit me. Uncle Freddy was only half responsible. The real bastard was still out there somewhere... It was time to find him. Before it threatened the wedding.

I got up abruptly and quickly, Riles looks at me confused. I frown and go inside to rip my keys off Max, I'm angry and ignore everyone around me until I get outside and Riles stops me midway.

"Reg-- Reg!" She calls, "Reg-- what-- Reg, what is it?!"

I look back at her, "It wasn't Uncle Freddy Riles!" I shout, a deep growl in my voice.

"Reg don't!" She yells as I drive off. Before I'm out of sight I shout back to her: "Riles, you understand, Riles! You've known me too long."

I exit the gravel pathway and make haste for Uncle Freddy's office -- there, I'd find a clue.

Reg storms through the house, yelling back at Riley. Riley looks like she knows what's going on, but that whatever Reg was doing startled her.

"What'd I do?" I ask when she walks by.

"He is just getting rid of the last peice of his past." I say it solemly.

Speaking of past, should we invite mom and dad?" Bree asked. It took me by surprise. I hadn't thought of them, much, but now...

"Would it be safe?" I ask her.

"They are your parent's, Riley." Ace said.

"Yeah, and they both work in the government." I say.

"What will they do? They wouldn't turn us in..." Bree sounded unsure. They had turned in our cousin Myles.

"But, do you really think..." Maitea sounded like she couldn't believe something like this would happen. Bree looked at me with pleading eyes.

"Fine, we'll invite them." I smirk, "But you have to let me strap a gun to my dress!"

Bree

"Riley, that will kill the whole point of marriage and peace and..." I stutter.

"Or you could let me wear a t-shirt and jeans." Riley says. Alis hisses.

"Five bucks Riley's gonna win this." Ace whispered to Maitea.

"But it's Bree's wedding." Maitea responded.

"What'd I miss?" Max asks, coming down the stairs.

"Nothing much, just Me and Reg are getting married." I said.

I sped up in the Land Rover. I'd need to get this done quickly and push it out of my mind, the burning thoughts were becoming torturous and slowly driving me insane. I ripped the wheels into Uncle Freddy's drive, the place was tackled with Police tape, but the cops were long gone.

I got out of the Land Rover and took out a shotgun, I walked briskly into the house by beating through the glass entrance door with the butt of the gun. Quickly making way to his office, the images in my brain shot at me once more. Who was this guy?! What was he doing?

I kicked down Freddy's office door and began ripping open the drawers. Paper was thrown everywhere, but then I found it. In the base of the bin was a single minimail and it read:

Dear Fred Carter,
Your nephew, Reg, has been found. He is with his sister, Julie, along side the highway East of California. The likeliness of me being able to bring them to you alive -- as you've requested is unlikely -- thus I will do you a favour and kill them both. I hope it won't come as much of a pain to you to hear, but you have my condolencenses. Besides, Reg did kill your brother and sister, did he not?
I'll be hearing from you soon, Mr. Carter,
The Ghost

So Uncle Freddy hadn't wanted me dead? All along it wasn't him? It was this... this "Ghost"? The thoughts played games with my mind and as the anger built up inside me I let loose, shooting a picture of Uncle Freddy and his wife with my shotgun, much like the time I'd prided myself in seeing Fred's face after I'd killed his wife.

For now, I'd return to the gang; but this Ghost - he'd be found. And he'd be killed.

Me and Ace continued our little debate. Obviously, I was winning. Then reg burst through the door. The scowl he wore on his face seemed permanant, like he would never smile again. Bree runs up to him.

"Reg, what happened?" She asks. Riley leans against a pilar, staring at Reg.

"Where's the blood, or was the job clean?" Riley asksed. Her tone wasn't acusitive, just curious.

"He wasn't there, but I found this." Reg said, handing Riley a piece of paper. She gasps and drops it. Bree picks it up, stares, and then turns to Reg.

"Why, every second of every day, do you allways have someone out to kill you?" Bree demanded of him.

"Welcome to my life." Reg comments. Then Marcello walks casually into the room.

"What's that, Reg?" Marcello asked.

"Just a little note I found." Reg said.

"What's it about?" I ask.

"My death." Reg said solemly.

"My death." Reg said.

"What on this earth do you mena." I stand up and snatch the note out of Marcello's hand.

"Ah, so nice to see you Alis. Your looking good..." He begins.

"Can it, Marcello. As I told you flattery sometimes just makes me angry, expecally coming from you."

"Fine." He says, Reg and Riley are laughing.

Marcello looks at the note and his left eye winces. I glare at him, but he tells me he's here to see Riles. Bree clings onto me, wondering what's going on.

"I'm sorry, Bree," I said, "This won't affect our wedding, but you have to understand that this past is very important to me."

"More important than me?" She protests.

"Don't make me answer that Bree," I replied. "Just, trust me."

I walk upto my room briskly and leave the others to get back to their wedding franchise. As I get upstairs I open up the bottom drawer of my closet and inside were a collection of pictures; old ones, ones of the family. I looked through them, looking at the reminder of my parents, feeling the burning pain that rushed through me up until I pulled the trigger on them. I looked at the picture of my darling sister, the youngest most beautiful girl I'd ever known and ever will. She was always so innocent, such a victim and she was hunted like one. It was disgusting. All this time I'd blamed Uncle Freddy, but I knew it when I'd killed him and his wife. Something was missing. As I got to the third page of the photos I noticed a picture of my family, all gathered together for a photo in Uncle Freddy's office.

From left to right was me, my parents and my sister Julie; how small she was. Then my Uncle Freddy and his wife, followed by a collection of people that were probably my godparents and there. THERE HE WAS. A single, tall, very young man stood at the end of the line. He had a dark of face. I rushed downstairs with the photo and flashed it at Riles.

"This is it. This is him."

I look at the photo. The man is young. The pictures look old. Obviously too old for me to tell who it was now. Unless they hadn't changed much. But that was unlikely.

Marcello looks at the photo. He glares at Reg, then he storms out.

"What's Marcello so mad at?" Ace asked.

"He looked like he was ready to kill you, Reg." Max commented.

"Or, he forgot he left dinner on the stove." Suzie offered helpfully.

"Unlikely, as much as we all wish it were true." Maitea said.

"Why, if it were the case, would he have glared at you?" I ask.

"Maybe he saw someone in the picture he didn't like." Bree offered, still clinging to Reg. Silly girl, give him some space.

"That's proably most likely..." I said. Bree frowned.

Bree

"Does that mean he is out to get me too?" I asked.

"Well, since it would hurt Reg, probably. Better to do a clean job." Alis said.

"Are you trying to make me upset?" I practically yelled.

"Can it, Bree. And give Reg a little space, while your at it." Alsi says. She leans over and mouths 'your welcome' to him. I suddenly want to slap her. But I take a small step away. I watch Reg's expression, it doesn't change.

"Reg, where are the rest of the photo's?" Riley asks.

"I will go get them." I said, trying to be useful.
