Angella

I watch the others fight. I wasn't a fighter, and would only get in their way, but they were going to far. I come out from behind the tree.

"Don't you think your going to far with this?" I ask.

"Nope." Myles said, pressing the blade a little closer to her throat.

"Come on, we are all human, aren't we?" I say.

"Maybe we are.." he says, I feel like slapping him. I notice the girls face slowly turning blue. I pull his arms off her. She falls to the ground.

"You almost killed her!" I shouted. She started coughing, trying to free up her airways.

"Yeah, and it would have worked too, if you didn't..." Myles started. Then the girl got up. She took a kinfe and charged at Myles. Using what strength I had, I held her back, but I wouldn't last long. She was strong, and I knew it. Much to my surprise, she stepped back.

Jesse:

"Hey!" Geneva yelled but Myles wouldn't listen. I wrenched my arm out of her grip and pulled my dagger on her.

"Hey, Genie," I said and she looked at me. "Knock out your prisoner before they get the chance to knock you out."

I knocked her out and went over to Myles.

"Myles!" I yelled and slapped him. "You don't kill women! I don't care how unruly they've been, you don't even hurt them! Salome could have died!"

He stared at me for a moment. I turned on Salome, ignoring Myles.

"You better take Geneva and get out of here before Myles tries to kill you again," I told her. She dragged Geneva to her feet and took off.

I turned on Myles again... He looked furious. Uh oh....

**Guys...Myles gave up killing. He hates it and only does it if necessary.**

MYLES

Myles glared at her.

"You do know I wasn't going to kill her right?" He asked, angrily. "What? Do you think I'm a complete idiot?"

Jesse pursed her lips. Myles rolled his eyes. He took her no comment as a maybe.

He sighed. "Well since, apparently, you don't need my help I'm out. I got caught earlier and I haven't had time to steal supplies."

He spun on his heel and walked away.

"Girls," he muttered. "I'll never understand them."

*I knew that, but did Jesse?*

Jesse:

I watched him go. Yeah, like I knew he was going to stop. I sighed and shook my head. Oh well, I had better get back to camp--and food. Suddenly I remembered something.

Angella! I turned towards her to see her shaking her head. She noticed me looking and smilied.

"You two are so frustrating," she said and started back towards camp.

I bit back my rude retort and followed her. I was not going to be rude to her--last time I was rude, Angella put something rather disgusting in my portion of the meal. I didn't want to repeat the experience.

Jeremiah

The final load of wood had to be delivered into town by nightfall, and that meant Jeremiah had to use the cart. He preferred simply carrying it on his shoulder, but five large logs and several bundles of kindling meant that that was impossible even for him. He guided the old mare that pulled the cart by its reins, walking alongside it down the narrow, treacherous track that led to the main road.

"I'll have to leave you in town tonight, girl." He said quietly, stroking her nose, "You might trip and break something if you try to walk that in the dark."

As he turned onto the main road, he heard a shuffling sound in the dark. Jeremiah paused, his brow furrowing in concentration and confusion as he cast his eyes up and down the road. Soon enough, a pair of figures emerged from the shadows of the woods into the red light of the late afternoon. It took him a second, but soon he recognised them. Patting the mare on the nose and whispering to her to stay still, Jeremiah started over towards the girls.

"Salome! Geneva!" He said, a wide smile on his face, "Why are you out here so late?" Another few steps made him see that Salome was supporting Geneva, who was unconscious, an arm draped over the swordswoman's shoulders. Jeremiah rushed the rest of the way forward, stopping in front of them, shock written across his face.

"What happened?" He asked, "Who did this, Salome?"

"Who did this, Salome?"

Geneva's eyes twitched as she started to regain consciousness. The last thing she could remember was Jesse pulling a dagger at her, the a sudden, sharp pain. She groaned, her temple still throbbing as if a horse had kicked her there, and she felt herself being lowered to the ground.

"Uugh..." She put a hand to her head and opened her eyes a notch, only to be greeted with the sight of a worried Salome and a confounded Jeremiah standing over her. She groaned again.

"Wha - what happened?"

"Geneva, are you alright?" Salome asked, putting a hand on her shoulder. Geneva smiled blearily.

"Na-oh." Her response was something between a negative and a groan. "I feel like a weight just fell on my head - what the heck happened?"

"That girl. She knocked you out."

"Gah...stupid girl..." Geneva attempted to stand up, only to slump back into her sitting position. Her surroundings were spinning like a top on high speed. "I can't stand."

"Here, let me help - "

"GENIE!"

Geneva prayed. Oh no. Oh dear heavens no. Not Arthur. Anything but him. But it was him, and he was standing a-huffing and puffing like a bellow on full steam. He pushed Salome away and shook Geneva urgently.

"Genie, don't die on me. GENIE!"

*Arthur finds out... Hoo hoo, this should be interesting.*

Arthur

Arthur, in a blind panic, dashed after Pricilla. She had told him of the thief Salome and Geneva had caught, and how she had left before anything important had happened. As they came upon the spot Pricilla had said they caught the thief, Arthur saw three figures standing nearby. One was definitely supporting another.
Someone who had lovely, golden brown hair and a quiver on her back.

Oh, no. Thought Arthur, his eyes widening as he broke into a dead run. All of his previous thoughts on not calling Geneva ‘Genie’ completely left him. All he knew was that his Genie had been hurt.

“GENIE!” He cried, running to her as quickly as he could.

“Genie, don’t die on me. Genie!” He said, shaking her gently by the shoulders. He noticed that her eyes were tightly closed and an expression of deepest annoyance on her face.

“Oh, Genie – er,” he stopped. Suddenly, his earlier thoughts drifted into his head. He realized that this was not the time to make Geneva understand that the pet name was not meant to insult her. In fact, It was probably not time to use the pet name at all. When she’s recovered, I’ll talk to her about that, Arthur decided, and turned his attention back to his grimacing fiancé.

“Geneva, dear, what happened? Pricilla said that you two caught a thief.” Geneva’s eyed opened in a flash.

“Don’t call me ‘dear’,” she snapped. “And Pricilla said our engagement was off, so why do you care?”

Arthur’s jaw dropped.

“I… What? I told her to tell you how sorry I was about this morning. I never said…” He stopped as a look of dawning horror spread across Geneva’s face. Then some idea went ‘click’ in his own brain.

“You,” he said, whirling on his sister, “you just have to ruin everything!” He bit back tears and ran off into the forest. No one could have mistaken the look on Geneva’s face for pain. She had been horrified at the idea of them being married.

Damn, he thought, punching a tree trunk. This, however, only hurt his hand and resulted in more swearing. Someone should have told me before I made an idiot of myself. Pricilla will really get it when I get home…

But where was home? He seemed to be far away from the edge of the forest, and did not know from which way he had come. He sank down on an old tree stump.

I’m having a really bad day… he thought.

MYLES

He was slashing everything he could with his daggers. The leaves, trees, anything. The forest was his home, where he sought refuge, but today he only repaid it with more slashes from his dagger.

He heard swearing coming from a more dense part. Myles frowned. Jesse would be pissed if he talked to an outsider and normally, he wouldn't dream of it. But today...she had only pissed him off.

Myles frowned. In fact, he wasn't really pissed with Jesse, but himself. He had come close to killing the guards and the women. It wasn't right, but there was something...bad inside him. And he couldn't seem to control it.

Myles quietly eyed the man. He looked...bad. The theif frowned and walked closer, the leaves beneath him not betraying a sound.

It was a rich guy, he could tell. His hands had not a single callous that he could tell. Myles spat, disgusted. He hated snooty rich men like that. Always getting what they wanted.

"Who's there?" The man asked, getting up.

Myles stepped out from behind the tree, grinning. "You don't even want to know, rich boy. Now, I'm in need of some money and-" he unsheathed his two hidden daggers, one in each hand. "I think you can help me."

*Darkkon*

Screams came from the mountains. Good. They were fighting. It is much easier to take over a divided group. The sun was getting low in the sky, and my minions were getting restless. "Soon." I whispered. Once the serpent was asleep, we would make our move.

Arthur

“H-help you?” squeaked Arthur. The man – a thief, obviously – advanced, daggers drawn.

“N-now l-look,” Arthur stood and backed away. “You really shouldn’t mess with me, I’m –”

“Save it,” said the thief. “I’ve heard it all before.” Arthur gave one last attempt at bravado.

“I’m the Leader’s son,” he said, straightening, although he was more than a little unnerved at the stranger’s relentless approach. “He’ll catch you, and all your little friends. You wouldn’t dare harm me.”

“Really?” said the thief. “The Leader’s son? Well, all the more reason to rob you.”

Arthur paled. He wasn’t used to anybody but Geneva or Pricilla threatening him and getting away with it. With trembling hands, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a few coins.

“I’m so s-sorry,” he stammered and held out the money. “It’s all I h-have.”

Salome
She watched Arthur beg Geneva not die and she couldn't help to let out a laugh when he ran off to the forest, angry about the words that his sister had said to Geneva. But he wasn't a problem, at least not to her, the problem was still in the city, hidden somewhere in the forest. The thieves.

"Ugh, thank God he's out of here" Geneva muttered, placing her hand on her head slowly.

"Yeah, it was really effective, telling him that the marriage is off seems to be an effective way to make him run away." Salome said smiling. She had to accept that deep inside of her, or actually not that deep, she knew well that Arthur was quite pathetic, but she couldn't really say it.

"What happened Salome?" Jeremiah asked, not asking Geneva for she was a bit tired and barely regaining consciousness

"It was a girl, we caught a girl. I think her name was Jesse for what the other thief said." Salome told Jeremiah.

"Wait there were two?" Geneva asked trying to get up as she did so.

*Hang on, Geneva saw the other thief trying to choke Salome...*

Geneva finally managed to stand up, her legs shaking badly as she did so. Her forehead was creased in a scowl, wondering how this incident had ever even come to be.

"I thought that particular guild had been wiped from the colony three years ago." Geneva picked up her bow. "How come there are still thieves permeating this darned mountain?"

Salome shrugged. "Don't ask me. I'd thought they were gone for good too. One thing - Arthur's going to have a whole load on his hands from now on." Salome let out a small snicker. Geneva felt a bitter taste in her mouth.

"I can't believe that the engagement is still on." Geneva sighed, frustrated. "And I thought he really did break it off. I'll never trust anything Priscilla says to me again."

"Why don't you break it off, Geneva?" Salome stared at her curiously, making her shrug.

"I really...don't know." Geneva confessed, staring down at her arms, which were caked in dirt by now. "Maybe I just don't want to disappoint my parents in that way, you know?"

Salome opened her mouth to respond, but was interrupted by a sudden and familiar howl of fear from the forest. Geneva and Salome exchanged startled glances.

MYLES

"You're lying!" Myles spat. "Where is your money, rich man?"

"P-Please!" He pleaded. "It's all I've got. I'm begging you. Let me go!"

Myles grinned, a terribly scary grin. "I don't think so. I need money and you've got plenty of it. I can tell. Just give me everything you've got and I'll let you go back to your overstuffed chairs and fancy dinner parties."

"P-Please!" The man begged. "I'm engaged. I need to go back to her."

Myles used to laugh at the look of utter terror on his victoms faces. Now...it was different. He almost felt regret for doing this. He was engaged.

Myles sighed. "Just get out of here."

The man didn't need a second telling. He turned and ran. Myles sank down next to the tree and placed his head in his hands.

What was wrong with him?

There's a little drama between Myles, Arthur, Geneva, Jesse, Angella, Salome and a few others. Try reading back a little. Maybe that will help. Drakkon is the bad guy, I think... If you have any other questions, try the DT.

I'll be posting something for Jesse later...

Jesse:

I wandered through the forest after Angella. I'd lost her after a few moment and I was lost myself.

I sighed and and sat down on a nearby tree stump. I looked around at my surroundings.

"Why are we camping out in the forest anyway?" I said out loud and looked down at my hands. "Why can't we go into the colony and just live there?"

I heard a bark and looked up. There was Barb. He came trotting over to me and put his head in my lap.

"Hey there, Barb," I whispered, patting his head. Barb was black and white, a dalmatian. "Where have you been?" I asked. He just barked and backed away to turned around in a circle.

I sighed and shook my head. Barb stopped turning around in a circle and start down. He stared at me.

"You always know when I'm plotting something," I told him and his barked once. "so, what do think of sneaking into little miss Geneva's room tonight?"
