I need advice and really badly; I am writing a vampire story (I know there are so many of those...)and I need to know a good way for a girl to find out the guy she kind of likes is a blood sucking freak.
I really am stuck for ideas, I don't want it to have anything to do with Twilight. So please, your help is really really really needed!

Okay! So now that it's in the right place, you have to think... why would somebody fall in love with another person in the first place? Don't think in terms of vampire vs. human just yet... make him a realistic human character and then put a vampire twist. So make her like the human first. And that will make it more real.

Can you please make there be less of a whole 'sparkle' or 'turn to dust' thing in the sunlight? Why not something like, I dunno, the original Dracula's 'I just prefer to go out in the night', or the film adaptation's 'I just lose the powers in the sun'.

As for revelation... there's a car crash, not involving the main character. She is walking along, sees this, when she sees vamp-boy tear open the door, and drag this horribly injured person out. She starts thinking that he's some kind of superhero or something, when he leans in, whispers something to HIP, and begins to lap (I prefer lap to suck) blood... There'll be her avoiding him, his noticing this, and her telling him what she saw. That is, there'll be a hell of a lot more tension than 'You're a vampire because you avoid the sun, a fifteen year-old told me you were, and I looked vampires up on Wikipedia'.

Also, please say that there will be a black/Asian/Hispanic vampire in the mix. I'm so sick of having to read 'deathly pale skin'.
This guy is so evil you could put him in between two slices of bread and call him an evil sandwich.

Coming at you like a jetpack Shakespeare.

This is what I was going to suggest. Just have her see him drinking someone's blood. It totally builds tension cause unless she's weird, she's probably going to be scared and want to avoid him a little. So then the reader will be anxious to see what happens next like if she's going to want to still be with him.
Good luck! :D

Well what if she visits him during the day, and somehow he is exposed to sunlight and gets burned a little.
