Welcome to YWS, Vanilla! I'm WD and it's a pleasure to meet you! There's no need to be afraid of not making friends--there are tons of great people around here and the chat room and the forums in general are great places to meet people! What kind of stuff do you like to write? Any works in progress? Can't wait to see you around! If you have any questions or just want to talk, feel free to PM me!
Hey, Vanilla! Thief here. I don't get the chance to get around much, but I know the covered basics. If you need someone to critique, I can get the job done! Well, so can a lot of others, but that's besides the point. As for chat speak? You might want to work on getting that system since some other members might not be to happy and it's almost completely banned apart from private messaging. After all we are writers here.
Anyways, I think it's be best if you look around the place for a bit, look at the types of groups, resources, blogs and works of others. Get a feel for the place if you know what I mean. Once you've looked around, do some reviews before posting any work. Well, more like a lot of reviews. I think it's still 20 before actually allowed to post your own work? It's been a while. Afterwards, you should be fine.
Good Luck!!
PM if needed, ~Thief
P.S. Don't mind the smilies, I can get really unpredictable and hyper.
By the Gods... Please let inspiration strike me! (Just in a non-violent way O.o)
Hey, ya'll. Sorry for the chat speak. It's just a bad habit. That's the way I text and IM. Anyway. I like to write fiction. The type of fiction varies from vampires to pure mortals. I'm actually working on something now. I think it has a chance to go somewhere. I hope so anyway. I prefer to handwrite it before typing. Lol. Thanks for the replies, by the way. I really appreciate it.

Shadow_Thief13 where did you get those unusual faces at?
-Welcome new member! Once upon a time during late December I was new like you. Don't worry you will feel right at home here. But, I would suggest that you use complete words, and capitalize more letters. We are picky about grammar in the YWS.

Okay. My favorite authors are Stephen King and Laurrell K. Hamilton. The Twilight series is good, and it used to be my favorite until I found The House of Night Series. The Vampire Academy is also a really good series, and I also really liked The Immortals series. I like vampires. My favorite animal is definitely a penguin. They're so cute and fluffy and fuzzy. Hehe. Everybody here is really friendly and welcoming. I hope to get some of my stories posted soon.

Stephen King is pretty awesome. Have you read his classics like Misery or The Shining? Those are some of the greats. However, i've never heard of Laurell K. Hamilton. What kind of things does she write? Vampires are pretty cool. Have you read Dracula? If not, its a must for any vampire fan.
Well, I hope you enjoy YWS, and please shoot me a PM if you ever need a review or if you have any questions about the site.

P.S. I do have a few nicknames. You can call me Eli, Elin, El, or Elinor, whichever one you like Welcome!!

Dracula was a metaphor for the disease syphilis, which the author had.
And people think that vampires and their bloodsucking was a metaphor for sex.
Oh, wait it is.
The blood sucking is the, no detail. And the vampiresm is the disease. Bram Stoker turned his disease into a novel. By the way I have never read Dracula. I have the movie and I haven't seen it either. I'm too busy on here to do either of those things. You'll love it on the YWS.

I actually haven't gotten a chance to read Misery or The Shining, but I have read It. That one was really good. I've read a lot of his other books as well. Laurell K. Hamilton only has two series that I know of. The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series and the Meredith Gentry series. The first one has vampires, werewolves, wereleapards, and stuff like that; pretty much any fictional creature you can imagine. The Meredith Gentry series is about faerie and the sidhe courts: Seelie and Unseelie. It's really good, but it's also kinda confusing. And I actually haven't read Dracula yet. Lol.
