I walked around the circus, almost soundlessly, the dirt ground was cold beneath my bare feet. I knew my twin would be looking for me about now, trying to get my help with some chore, or to be part of the audience when she performed. I quietly slipped into the tent as Nick announced Else's act. Climbing up an old tightrope platform, I remained out of sight of the public. The tightrope was unlikely to be used tonight, so I felt comfortable watching from above. It was enjoyable to watch the acts. Eve had been nagging me to create a new act for myself, but I stuck with being her handy man, women. Else came out, looking stunning in her costume. i smiled. I had always enjoyed her act.

Eve

I searched backstage for my sister. Frustrated with her sudden disappearance. It was not unlike her to pull these 'disappearing' acts from me, but it was infuriating nonetheless. I walked up to Juliette. "Have you seen my sister?" I asked, hoping I wasn't a bother to her right now. She sighed. "No, but knowing Eden she's probably on high ground." I nodded an muttered a small thanks. 'Well, if she doesn't want to be seen then she won't be.' I thought with no relief.

Else

"Another wonderful show, from our most amazing leader." I said. Nick grinned.

"Glad you didn't decide to half disappear." He commented.

"Even if Kili did decide to nearly kill me."

"Ignore her."

"I don't know, it is kind of hard to ignore a 120 pound stage light coming at you at no less than 300 mph." Nick laughed.

Then SHE came up.

"How'd you enjoy your little during-show surprise?" She asked.

"I don't know, why don't you ask my fist?" I said.

Nick stepped between us. "Save it girls. No sense giving each other black eyes two days before our next show."

I put on a fake smile, "You did a good job." I said.

"You didn't." She said, and then huffed off. Only under Nick's warning glance did I not go and show her who dissed who around here.

I did my part quickly without much to say about it. The group cheered and I was bored out of my mind. Afterwords as the audience was clearing out I heard Else and Kili arguing...as usual. Those two idiots are so hateful towards each other they don't even realise how they could be best friends if they tried. Huh, there's me being deep.

"Hey Juliette! Great show!" Else said enthusiastically.

"Yeah..thanks. Your performance was great too," I said leaving out Too bad it's what you do every show . I suddenly felt sick to my stomach and I fell onto my knees, my head screaming in pain even though a peep never left my mouth.

"She's just changing again. Come on help me get her up," Nick said before I fell onto the floor and all went black.

I wasn't participating in the is performance the normal way- by acting for the audience. Instead, I was part of the audience.

In my floating form, I could survey the ranks of viewers for discontent. If I did, I was supposed to find Kili and have her put it to an end.

At the moment though, Kili was busy with other matters. She was high above, at the roof of the tent, de-hinging a spotlight with obviously bad intention. I considered telling Nick, but decided against it. It would be interesting to see what happened.

The light fell, but it missed Else by inches. The usual mind-erasing process began. It didn't affect me, because my particles were to far apart to cohesively receive the mind erasing.

The rest of the night passed uneventfully. When the circus ended, I floated down and joined the assembled group. Juliette had passed out again, which meant either good or bad next. It didn't really affect me either way, though.

Nick, teleporter,

I sigh, watching the tents empty of our audience. They look pleased, as usual, because Kili has been here. Great, that makes me feel so much better. Quite suddenly, Juliette passes out. I just sigh again.

"She's just changing again. Come and help me get her up," I say, to no one in particular. Else comes over, and I will us to be in the girl's tent. When I open my eyes, we are there, and Else looks very shaken.

"Nick," she gasps, "Tell me when you're gonna do that next time."

"Sorry. Forgot not everyone's used that," I apologize. We lay Juliette down on some blankets, and exit. Everyone else is milling about outside, waiting for me to say something. Jeez, sometimes being the leader gets annoying.

"Okay, everyone, great show. Let's get the chow on!"

Kili, changes emotions,

I smile as Nick teleports Juliette away, with Else. I'd almost managed to make that light fall on her. Almost. Ah well, there was always next time...

I walk over to Zack. He ignores me. I poke my tongue out at him. He stares stonily back. I glare. He's got mental blocks up to keep me from getting into his mind. I hate him.

Name: Maeve Redsford

Age: 17

Power/Circus Act: Can transform into any person or animal she comes into physical contact with.

Personality: Generally nice and fun, and loves to entertain children at the circus. She's very generous and tries to always put others ahead of her.

Weaknesses/Strengths: Has a weakness for boys, spiders, and just generally evil people. strengths: Manipulation, even though she tries not to be too controlling of people.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes good, friendly fun, talkative people, and candy. Dislikes hot drinks (except for hot chocolate), mean people, and the government.

Name: Aron Night (neutral)
Age: 18

Power/Circus Act: He is a tracker. He can sense the life forces of those around him of those who have previously been here, know exactly who it was, where they are going. His job in the circus is to alert the others when someone with powers is nearing the camp. (Basically a scout) He will often travel ahead of the camp to make sure the path is dry.

Personality: He likes the company of some of the other kids, but others he cant stand. Mostly he stays in solitude, in camp mind you, but still not acting as a whole with the other kids. He is very charming and will always be as honest as he can be.

Weaknesses/Strengths: An amazing marksman and pretty good at traveling through difficult terrain without making any noise.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes the colors black and white. Doesn't like others to judge his personality and style.

Other: Yes, I am up for love. Never goes anywhere without his necklace.

Aron, Tracker~

I guess the show is over I thought as a few of the others walked out of the big tent. I couldn't be bothered to offer any more praise I had done it so many time before, but I did want to see what the commotion was about. Jumping down from the tree I had been perched in I walked over to where everyone was gathered around. I jumped, grabbed the branch, and swung myself up onto the tree next to them so I could see through the thong.

Well thats not to exciting I thought sarcastically as I saw Juliette changing from her dark side to light side. Before anyone noticed I was gone, already walking back towards my tent.

Maeve, physical transformation

She hadn't been in the show tonight, she was taking tickets at the front of the tent. The show had went quite well, but at one point she heard what sounded like a loud crash and a startled audience. Even then, she knew everyone inside that tent had been wiped clean of the short memory. As all of the circus-goers left, she waved them off with a friendly smile. When she wasn't part of the show, she didn't change her appearance unless she was just bored.

Thankfully, taking the money from the customers involved alot of physical contact, which meant more people for her to change into. She absolutely loved her ability.

"Hey, Nick." She caught up with him after the show, "Here's all the money from tonight's show. You guys did great!" She smiled, still in her original form, and handed him the jar of money.

Name: Sam

Age: 17

Power/Circus Act: He can create clones of himself (sorry if this doesn't make sense). If he wants, Sam can create up to two more forms of himself appear. The 'clones' share his brain, so they're easily directed in a fight. However, if one got hurt then he would too. He doesn't like performing at the circus, so does odd jobs like cleaning and setting up.

Appearance: He has floppy-ish brown hair and a pretty square face. He's around 5'10, and looks very lanky. Sam's not especially graceful, he can look gangly and clumsy. His eyes are blue-grey, and his mouth is usually set in a pretty grim line. Generally, Sam will wear cut-off jeans and a variety of scruffy shirts.

Personality: Sam isn't very good at socialising at all. He doesn't have a problem talking to people, he just doesn't really feel the need. He's also extremely conscious if people start staring at him, hence the fact that he doesn't perform. He's not a horrible guy, but he couldn't be described as a nice one either because he tends to stay out of the way a bit. He has a pretty sarcastic sense of humour that will occasionally burst it's way to the surface. Sam has a very hopeful side to his character, but squashes it down with fits of pessimism (or, as he likes to think of it, 'realism').

Weaknesses/Strengths: W: He's not a good fighter, he doesn't like having attention drawn to him, he doesn't have very good people skills, never really gets involved with conflict.
S: He can notice things that a lot of people don't. Runs pretty fast if he needs to. Is very smart in a scrape.

Likes: Music (he hums to himself almost constantly), reading, peace.

Dislikes: Conflict, attention, some people (generally those who are completely opposite in personality to him).

Other: Up for love/friendship (although he's not exactly an exciting prospect). I'm not exactly sure which way he'll go on the whole good/bad equation, so we'll have to wait and see!

Name: Charles [Charlie]

Age: 15

Power: *I hope this power is okay it gets banned from some story books involving powers* Empath or copycat, Charlie can use other peoples powers. He can normally only contain three powers within himself so makes sure to only keep the ones he wants. His power has a dark side though he can take someones power from them permanently but it kills the user. He accidentally killed his powered friend on the way to the circus. his friend had precognition.

Appearance: Medium height and skinny he likes jeans and hoodies. He has soft brown eyes that seem to understand.

personality: Kind but selfish just like any teenager. He no's what the right thing to do is but he will often not do it. He socialises with the rest of the misfits and seems to fit in very well. Deep down though there's a hunger burning, begging to be satisfied with a new power, a new victim. Charlie has to resist it.

Weakness: feels guilt for the friend he killed, has a hunger for power burning inside and is weakened after he swaps powers.

Strength: He's not dumb and has a talent for reading people even without Kili's or Juliets power.

Likes: Chocolate, socialising [most of the time] and music.

Dislikes: Small places and really annoying misifits [it makes his hunger burn worse and well their annoying]

other: The current three powers he is copying are:

Density control from Zach [mainly as a defence]

Aqua: its cool if you join, at least I think considering the title says its ok.
jok: that power seems a bit crazy. maybe make him only be able to use the persons power for about an hour unless he kills the user then he can keep the power forever.
