Hello, anyone who reads this! I got into writing in 8th grade, and REALLY took to it. I currently go to 2 writing workshops, I write whenever I feel, and literally whenever. I skipped a science test while I was writing a slam poem. I try not to have that repeat, but the point is that I love writing, and I'm glad to have found this site, and I hope to post plenty.

I mostly write poetry, but I also do a lot of script writing, which I plan to do in my future. I'm looking around right now for a place to perform my first finished script, which a 26-page, 2 act play that I've spent about half a year working on. My favorite poem is "Howl" by Allen Ginsberg (thus the name, Howler), my favorite movie is "Man on the Moon", and my favorite book is "A Dirty Job" by Christopher Moore.

I love writing more than anything else, I watch a lot of TV and movies, and I hate wearing jeans. Glad to be here!

Hey Howler! (any nicknames you'd like to be called?) I'm Hope :D nice to meet you!

Another script writer! Woo! *Highfives* So what's your play about? And lets see a few questions... What's your favorite fruit? Favorite Color? And what kind of pants do you wear if you don't wear jeans? Enjoy the site, and I hope to see you around!

*Howls a very convincing "Welcome to YWS"*

Yes, I did just howl that out loud. My parents now wonder what's wrong with me. Haha!

It's great to meet you! And great to have you here! I'm sure you'll find soon that YWS is a great place to be. We'd love to hear more about this play of yours, and to see what else you've got up your sleeves!

Hope to see you around!

Yeah, that's a little weird I didn't say what my script was about, did I?

It follows Phil, a top psychiatrist, when he gets a surprising patient; James Liftin, the 16 year old son of the richest man in the province(or state, there's no distinct location) attempts suicide. Of course, the news isn't afraid to look deeply into it, especially Phil's brother Rick, who's trying to take Phil's notes about the meetings with James so he can get out of some dire money trouble. The play follows Phil as he meets with James, meets James' family and friends, and his choice between James' privacy or his brother.

I'll probably post the script on these forums eventually, or I'll at least send it to anyone who wants to read it (but not a lot of people don't have an attention span to read a 26 page script).

As for your other questions, I love strawberries, favorite colour is green, and I wear sweatpants every day.

Also, I should say one of my best poems is already posted in the narrative poetry forum. It's called "A Boy Named "He"", and I really want some critique.
Happy to answer any other questions you have!

Hey Howler, welcome to YWS! :D

Sweatpants are the absolute bomb. If I could wear them every day I would. When I get home from school and don't have anywhere else to go for the night I totally put a pair on.

So....
If you could meet any author and talk to them about anything for an hour, who would you meet? What's your favorite berry? What's your favorite topping to put on ice cream? Do you play an instrument? If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why? What kind of music do you listen to?

I hope you have a great time here and if you have any questions or need anything, feel free to PM me! :D

So many new questions!!!

I met one of my favorite authors at the writer's festival here in Vancouver, Canada. His name's Don Calme, and his recent book "Swim the Fly" became a favorite of mine fast. He went to one of the same writing workshops that I go to, and I got chatting with him after he did a reading and introduction of himself at the show during the festival. Wasn't an hour, but he told me a lot.

Let's roll out these last ones quickly. Strawberries are my favorite berries (and fruit, like I said earlier), chocolate sauce, I used to play violin (But I stopped practicing recently. Just got too busy), I'd want to be able to walk through solid objects, and I listen to a lot of rock and metal, and a little stretch of others. My 3 favorite artists at the moment are Motley Crue, KISS, and Z-Trip (a number of songs he made are amazing, especially Breakfast Club, which is hilarious, and of course the one that I quote in my signature, in a song he made for the video game DJ Hero where he mixed his own unique song with "Jukebox Hero" by Foreigner).

Done! What's next?

Okay... I'll forgive you... maybe. :P

What's next? Well... you should go out in the forums and explore! More particularly, you should join this group: viewgroup.php?f=333

Our goal is to take over YWS, one forum at a time. Evil, no? ^_^ Right now, we're doing a poetry invasion. I think you'd be good at it! :D

Pleased to meet you, JD, and glad to see I've got more questions to answer.

Let's roll.

I do a lot of poetry, and I don't plan to stop, but I have a big desire to do script writing in the future. I love theatre, film, and television, and I've lived next to one all my life. It's what I enjoy and what I want to stick with.

I took up fencing a few years ago. Great activity for stretching, and for god's sake, it's sword fighting. How can't I love it? I also have a very unhealthy video game addiction, mainly Guitar Hero. In reality, it's a fun game, everyone loves it, it gets music out there where a lot of people will listen, and it's fun, but as I said, it's an addiction. I have 6 plastic guitars, 3 microphones, one pair of drums, and a plastic turntable. I play with all of them, and I won't deny it's an obsession, but it's a big interest of mine. Music really can influence my writing, and having fun listening to it helps a lot.

I usually have one song I listen to for a week, so it changes frequently. But if I had to pick three, it'd be "Kickstart my Heart" by Motley Crue, "Jukebox Hero" by Foreigner, and the most embarassing song I listen to, "Tragic Kingdom" by No Doubt. Also, one song I really like is mentioned in my signature. It's exclusive to a game DJ Hero (Which uses the plastic turntable). Look it up online!

Last one is tough...I guess there's one. A play called "The Laramie Project" has been a big influence to me. Last year, I performed in it as a great character called Doc O'Conner, and it headstarted an acting talent I also conveniently have. "Laramie Project" has a lot of amazing, unique characters, is timed and written perfectly, and it's based on a true and meaningful story, and you almost can't beleive the situation ever actually happened. It's what I used as an example of anything I needed to while writing "The Liftin Case".

Sorry if this is way too long, I have a talent to pull that off. What else can I say? I type the way that I talk :).

Always happy to answer some more questions! And don't forget to read and critique my piece in the Narrative Poetry forum called "A Boy Named "He"! It's really good, and I need some help to make it even better!
