Hey Megan! I'm Hope, nice to meet you :D...Welcome to YWS!

I read your introductory blog, and you sound quite a bit like myself in ways. You should fit in nicely around here :D.

So what kind of stuff do you like to write? I myself try to do a little of everything, I've posted a few of my romance stories here, but I don't think they turned out very well xD.

I don't use Twitter, but if you need help with anything, and I mean anything, or just want to talk, please PM me!

I hope to see you around ;).

Hello! Welcome to YWS! :D

I like romance stories a lot too. I think they're a lot of fun to read and write.
Your so right by wanting to read a lot of other peoples stuff. By knowing what you like and don't like in others writing will seriously help out your own. :) And if you have questions about something specific your struggling with, like characterization, interesting dialogue, etc. the Writing Resources forum (Upper toolbar thing right in between Groups and Blogs) can really help! :D

So a couple of questions...
If you could meet one author and talk to them about anything you wanted for an hour, who would you meet? What kind of music do you listen to? What's your favorite kind of fruit? If you could travel to any country and spend any amount of time there, where would you go, and how long would you stay? What's your baked good of choice? If you were a marine biologist, what animal would you study and why?

I hope you have a great time here and if you have any questions or need anything, feel free to PM me! :D

Lol! Just a heads up... YWS is kind of crazy and will start to flail around if you don't capitalize all the words you need to capitalize. ;)

I think YWS has a twitter, so search up that. And our admin (Nate) is kind of twitter obsessed, so if you see him on there somewhere, I guess you can twitter to him?

(Me, a Twitter newb? NEVER.)

Also! If you ever want to discuss your writing and brainstorm, feel free to PM me. You can totally bounce off ideas from me, if you want. :)

Hey there! Welcome to YWS!

So, I guess this is your second day here, huh? How are you finding it so far? If you're still a little unsure where to go, then something you might like to try out is the Buddy System. If you PM a member on this forum then they'll look after you for your first month on YWS. It's a great way to be shown the ropes. :D

I like romance stories, but I'm not really any good at writing them. I generally write short stories that I put in Other Fiction, and they can be about anything! Although I do like to incorporate some romance into them, I've never been able just to write a story about romance. Are you working on any particular novel at the moment? Or are you just meandering around a little?

If you need any help, both with YWS and writing, then feel free to drop me a PM! I'll always do my best to help with anything.

See you around! *high fives*

I’m a careless typist, just realised I spelled ‘attempting’ wrong gahh, sorry about that. Okay and just for Snoink I’m now writing properly :). First of all thank-you to all of you for responding so quickly, it’s kind of nerve-wracking joining a new writing site, as lame as that sounds, I was on one before where the people weren’t so friendly. And Kamas, you’re post is amazing, its helped me out so much!

And thank-you, BondGirl for the monkey and this comment. I just realised I wrote nothing to introduce myself and was lazy and made you look at my blog, so sorry about that. I’m going to go look at your romance stories after I’m done writing this! To be honest, I’ve been writing Romance alone for a while now, its kind of just stuck, but I tend to put in a little bit of science fiction now and then, just because I’m obsessed with the fantasy world of superheroes, vampires and such.

Carlito, ahh I love your questions, but that’s a bad thing. I’m far too honest for my own good, but I’ll give it a go!

1. This is kind of lame I know, but Stephenie Meyer right now, I’ve recently finished The Host for the second time and have so many unanswered questions I want to ask! Post-apocalyptic related stories is a huge obsession of mine right now, I want to know all about how she thought of the souls and such. To be honest I don’t have a wide selection of literature, I kind of read what everyone else is reading, but I’m trying to branch out now.
2. Music is a huge part of my writing, before I never really bothered listening to it but it really helps the creative juices. I’m a massive fan of Taylor Swift, which is really lame, I have a varied taste in music, I love the band Oasis, but then I like all of the new pop stuff coming through like GaGa of course, and then I’ve always been into new and old hiphop and rap and that kind of music, I really like The Streets because its more of a story than just mindless rapping, and I love Eminem.
3. My favourite fruit is red grapes, but at a certain point when they’re a little sour. No pun intended there!
4. I’ve always wanted to live in America, it sounds pathetic, but I would of loved to have had an American upbringing, their high schools look so much more interesting than English high schools lol. I want to live in the winter in a house right by the beach and the Hollywood strip (if that’s possible, I have no idea how far apart they are ha) in LA and for the summer (cause I hear the big apple gets pretty cold) a huge open plan apartment in New York when I’m older, that’s the dream.
5. Okay I’m stupid, I thought you meant baked as in some kind of a hot meal? Hahaha, my favourite baked good is this chocolate brownie you get from the bakery in the supermarket, on the inside its so soft and delicious. I could eat a whole tub!
6. I think it has to be dolphins, they fascinate me and I’ve always wanted to swim with them. But I think I’d look for mermaids on the side, haha.

I’m sorry those answers were so long, hope they didn’t bore you too much!

Hey AquaMarine :) I’m kind of annoyed with myself. So far I’ve dreamt up these epic long ideas and storylines, I’ve named and sorted all my characters, I know exactly what’s going to happen and it would probably be a beautiful story, that is if I could get past the first seven or so pages! I’m starting to think I’m not cut out for long writing, like whole novels and stuff, which is really depressing as that’s something I really want to do, but right now I write a lot of beginnings, a few snippets and barely any endings, there’s no consistency to my work, gahh its annoying. That aside, right now I’m working on a kind of cheesy American romantic comedy story, I originally wanted to start it off as a script as I can think of so much stuff I can only get across visually, but settled with a story, its something I’m really excited about but yet again I’m on the eight page and I’m struggling.

I am going to upload some work soon, a lot of it is going to be unfinished which I know is probably really annoying, and I know my standard of writing isn’t excellent, but hey I’m only 17 and until this stupid writers block thingy subsides its all I can do, as I refuse to stop writing!

Thanks again, and much love to you all. : )

Ooh, I know exactly what you mean with that! My documents are littered with beginnings that would have made nice stories. But, alas, they will stay as beginnings. If I really like them I'll make them into short stories, which is so much easier. One thing you could do is try doing NaNoWriMo when it comes around? You attempt to write 50,000 words of a novel in the month of November. I did it last year (2009 is last year!) and it was a very good motivator!

And cheesy? American? Romantic comedy? I secretly love those a lot. Those and prawn crisps. Although it's not very secret now, is it? :D

You music taste does seem kind of varied! I love Oasis and I like a few songs by The Streets, but I can't agree with you on the Lady GaGa front. ;)

I totally know how you feel about wanting to be American! It always seems so nice on the other side of the pond. Plus, American people seem nice.

Chocolate brownies! <3

Oh it takes a lot to bore me :D

I think it'd be kind of fun to talk to Stephenie Meyer even though my Twilight obsession faze is over. I've started The Host but I've never managed to finish it. I don't know why, I like it, but I still have yet to read the last hundred pages or so. :)
I really like Taylor Swift too. She is just so cute and I love her lyrics. Lady Gaga amuses me so much. Every time I see her she makes me smile because she is just so odd. :)
Grapes are the bomb! I like pretty much all fruit but I can always eat like a million grapes if they're there. :)
I live in America :D
I think everyone wants to live on the beach by Hollywood. :D It never snows by the beach unless you live somewhere in the north but it definitely snows in New York! :)
Brownies are soooo good. Mmmmm. Now I really want one :D

Edit: Haha! I just noticed how many similes I just used :D

Hey there!
Welcome to YWS! I'm sure we'll get along just fine. Did you notice my name seems to be an ironic similarity to your music taste? Haha, first thing that went through my mind, let me tell you. :P
As far as liking Meyer is concerned, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so don't feel as if it's lame liking her. Her book does seem interesting, my friend is reading it right now. I might even read it!
As far as romance goes, I'm sure I can dig up a few reads for you of mine to read. I'd love to read yours too, so don't forget to PM me sometime for that.
I like you dream, it has ambition. Just to throw that in there.
Oh, and oh man. That chocolate brownie talk is making me drool now, haha.
It's funny because I too find my inspiration from songs (for writing) *high fives and hands cookie*.
PM me anytime for questions or a good chat! :)
