Hi, I just joined the young writers society and I hope to learn more in terms of grammatical situations, character development, as well as intro paragraph(s). Although that stuff is all well and good here is a little bit about myself.

I am a fourteen year old male, living in Delaware. My interest in books is fiction and some of my current favorite books are Catching Fire, Uglies Trilogy, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Hopefully that gives you a good example of what kind of books/stories I enjoy. Being homeschooled my entire life a shock came when I attended public school. My education in English is going well, and I hope to become a fluent writer. Another pastime of mine is xbox live where I spend quite a bit of time with my friends after school everyday.

Thanks and Hello,

DayDreams

Hey Daydreams! I really hope you like YWS, because it's a lot of fun once you learn how to use it (for someone as Tech challenged as me, that might take a while, but hey, what can you do?). Feel free to PM (private message) me if you need any reviews for something you've written or you just want to talk. I'm fourteen too, only i'm a girl :D
Oh, and Question: how was being home schooled??? I've always been in the public system and I've never met anyone who's homeschooled, so ya... anyway, have fun at YWS!
'I didn't know that I could ever forgive him for everything he'd done to me. Now that I looked back on it, that he'd put a child through such torment seemed even worse. But right now, it wasn't him I was forgiving or thanking. It wasn't even about him.
I was forgiving myself.' -Speak Into Silence

Welcome to YWS, DayDreams! I'm WD and it's lovely to meet you! I'm so glad you found your way to YWS! Is there any particular kind of fiction you enjoy writing? Are you working on something currently? That sounds like quite an adventure, being homeschooled and then going to public school! How was the transition? I can't wait to see you around YWS! If you ever have any questions or just want to talk, feel free to PM me! :D

Hey there! Welcome to YWS!

I hope you're going to enjoy it here, there's so much to do and so many lovely people!

Looking at your book interests, it seems like there are a couple of groups which you might like to join! There's one group dedicated to the Hunger Games trilogy, another for Percy Jackson and the Olympians and one called Computer/Technology which, if you like gaming, could be great for you!
Groups are a wonderful way to get to know other YWS members, so you can also take a look at the index and see which ones you'd like to join!

Now, why don't you tell us a bit more about yourself. What are you writing at the moment? What's your favourite colour? Who do you look up to? What inspires you?

See you around! *high fives*

~Amy

Oh gosh public school is much easier than being homeschooled. Well it might be different for you guys but my parents care a lot about my education so my mother who taught me was strict. As for groups im not gonna bother looking into them yet. Thanks for the offer to review and saying hello.

Hey DayDreams, welcome to YWS! :D
As AquaMarine said, there are a whole bunch of fantastic groups in store for you in addition to the ones she linked you to. In addition, the Knowledge Base is a great database of excellent articles having to do with YWS help and tutorials on writing.
If you ever need anything, feel free to PM me. I'm blue [a greeter] which means I specialize in helping new members ;)
Also, whenever you post a work, If you drop me a PM or a guestbook entry I'll critique it for you.

Hahaha... I actually had it the other way around! My schooling was mainly me writing novels and ignoring math homework. When I went into college (junior college, since they were tired of me avoiding my math homework), it was TONS OF WORK. But really fun. :)

Welcome to YWS! :D

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
