hey, im caity. I am kind of new. i say this because i became a member awhile back but haven't really done anything. As you can see. But yea, that's really all.

Hey there! Welcome (back) to YWS! *Hands Blow-pop* So I shall go quickly over the rules!


1) The 3:1 ratio. You want to do three reviews for every one work you post.

2) Plz no cht spk OR CAPS LOCK. That means good grammar, capitalization, apostrophes and no overuse of punctuation (no doing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). This also applies in the chat room. (Capitalize your I’s and the beginnings of your sentences )

3) Please rate your work appropriately. E (everyone), 12+, 16+ or 18+.

4) Be nice! That means no flaming other members, and keep the swearing where it goes, in your stories.

5) Have fun!

Hiya, I'm captain.classy, you can call me captain or classy. I'm a bit new and still figuring a few things out, so if you ever need someone to talk to or your story isn't getting reviewed, let me know! I would like to share something with you that has helped me out a lot!
There's this thing on this site called 'will review for food.' There, users, such as myself, advertise that they will review your work if you ask them to. But, we do ask you only request two reviews a day. At the top of your screen where it says things like 'My YWS' or 'community,' on the right side is the title 'writing resources.' Click on it, then scroll down until you see the 'will review for food' topic. Browse users you would like to review your works! Enjoy, PM(personal message) me if you need anything!

Hi Caity! My name is Lisa and I am like you. When I first joined I didn't do much, just because it was all a bit overwhelming. Then I got involved and then I took a leave of absence, and now I am back with vigor! Classy made a great point about the review forum, but there are all kinds of fun things to do here.

1.) There is an awesome chatroom where you can talk to fellow YWSers, which is always fun. We're a crazy bunch and the conversation is never dull.

2.) You can check out the user groups, we have everything from Twilight Fan groups to a Girl's Only group. That is a great way to meet people who share common interests.

3.) Blogs! You can create your own blog, which I recently did, and I find it quite enjoyable. It's like a diary, except there isn't a cheap lock on it and you can't hide it under your bed.

4.) If you get really bored there are all sorts of forums to check out. Here are the links to just a couple of my favorites:

5.) And of course you can always post your work to receive praise and constructive criticism.

Now let me tell you a bit more about colors and what their usergroup is for
The blues are greeters, the people who usually greet newbies like you. Tell them the rules, and other basic information, making them feel welcomed. The purps jobs are to review, review, and review! Usually they are very good at critiques, and try to help members become better writers, and improve! Junior mods and Global mods are like their names. Usually in charge of a specific part of YWS. These guys are who you can count on for any basic questions. Admins are 'The Boss' in charge. Help run the site and know every nook and secret of it. Distinguished members are usually mods that left the site, or don't come on as much anymore, but we still love them.

Tips!

~Don't take reviews personally. People critique your work because they want to make it better and they want to see it sparkle. Isn't that what you want, too?

~Okay, this isn't for YWS but it's for your writing... and I guess life, too! Don't be afraid to take risks. Let's be frank- playing it safe is boring. Be unique, write something you've never tried before, and you'll be surprised where it takes you.

~Be nice, be nice, be nice! YWSers will most likely return the favor.

Hi! Welcome to YWS. I can promise you that you'll love it here, it's really quite awesome! Let me introduce you to some of the rules/basic knowledge here on YWS. It'll make things easier for you!
First, here are the rules that YWS likes their users to follow:
1. No flaming at other players, please! Let's be nice, now.
2. Please always remember the 3:1 ratio; the 3:1 ratio is 3 reviews for every piece of work you post. This way, every one's work gets reviewed, and it puts your name out there more for more people to look at your works.
3. CAPS LOCK and ch8spk is not allowed. This is a writers site, so good grammar, spelling, and capitalization is appreciated! However, 'lol' is accepted. We do have a chat room on YWS, but even there we use proper writing; though, lol is accepted once again.
4. Rate your work just like movies. If it has any mature scenes, excessive violence or language then it'll need to be rated. Members of YWS are of different age groups and persona so they might not like something.
5. Of course, have fun!

That's it for the rules, so now to some basic knowledge here on YWS:
Greeters: People like me who greet newbies like you.

Instructors: they are the purple people who give awesome reviews after all that’s their job.

Junior Moderators(JMs): they are green and their job is to make sure the forums are running smoothly, if you have a question about a forum ask them.

Moderators: dark green people who keep the site running nice and smooth.

Adminastrators: They are red and are responsible for the whole site. Nate, the creator of YWS is an Admin.

Distiguished Members: they are orange and are retired mods or admins.

Okeydokes! Now for the 20 (or less) Questions! Hehe.
