Hi! My name's Jess and I love writing (obviously!) I am looking forward to learning much more about writing on this site and of course making some new friends!
Welcome!! I hope you have fun, this is an awesome site. It's a great place to grow as a writer. Um, I'm not very good with the rules so hopefully someone else can cover that. Well, I do know that you have to do like three reviews for each story you post. So make sure to do that OK? Hope to see ya around!
Looking for someone who won't disappoint you? Look to Jesus.
Haha, I see you've found the lovely emoticons YWS has. And I'm glad to see you so happy to join YWS!
So, care for a few rules?
~Please review three things before posting your own work. It's not that bad as long as you make it more than three sentences, preferably very helpful to the writer, and point out whatever mistakes you find. Reviewing can be quite fun really once you get into it. There are people here who have critiqued more than 2,000 works, so I doubt they'd give up all that time if they didn't find some type of enjoyment in it.
This is the 3:1 ratio and you'll have to make sure you're on top of it. Otherwise, bad things happen. *cackles* Haha, I'm only kidding. Just keep reviewing.
~Please rate your work. The ratings are E, 12+, 15+, and 18+. Not too hard, right?
~Plz spk prpr eglsh bcuz ppl dnt wnt to rd ths. it hurt meeehh eyes! AND DON'T SPEAK LIKE THIS! IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING AT SOMEONE AND THAT ISN'T VERY NICE, NOW IS IT??!! And it goes without saying you should use proper punctuation, spelling, and capitalization. We're all writers here, so let's behave like it!
Okay, okay. Now that I've bored you to death with the rules let's move on to something even more exciting!
...
Question time! It's to get to know you better.
~Handwriting or typing?
~Doodling or reading?
~Favorite book?
~Favorite genre?
~Poetry or prose (which is mainly story writing)?
~What inspires you?
Have a question? Want a review? PM me and I'll be happy to help!

Got YWS?
You judge others upon their actions, but you judge yourself by your intention.
So, Selene's taken you through the rules so I'll just give you a few links to get you started!
The Buddy System! This means that you can PM a member on this forum who will then be your mentor for your first month on YWS! It's a great way to get a friend and to find your feet on the site.
Hey Firefly! Adorable avatar! You must like animals? Well, anyways. I'm JustDance, but you can call me JD How long have you been writing, and how did you find YWS? Do you have any pets? Siblings? Haha, I wish I had some, but I got stuck being an only child.
Let me tell you a bit about the usergroups we have here: The blues are greeters, the people who usually greet newbies like you. Tell them the rules, and other basic information, making them feel welcomed. The purps jobs are to review, review, and review! Usually they are very good at critiques, and try to help members become better writers, and improve! Junior mods and Global mods are like their names. Usually in charge of a specific part of YWS. These guys are who you can count on for any basic questions. Admins are 'The Boss' in charge. Help run the site and know every nook and secret of it. Distinguished members are usually mods that left the site, or don't come on as much anymore.
Yay! You got to love those dancing elephants! They're like... the best part of the site.
Nah, just kidding. The best part about the site is the community and the whole sharing writing with people who love writing. So I'm glad to see you on! We need more people like you!
See you around! And if you have any questions, feel free to bug me.

Hi! Welcome to YWS. I can promise you that you'll love it here, it's really quite awesome! Let me introduce you to some of the rules/basic knowledge here on YWS. It'll make things easier for you! First, here are the rules that YWS likes their users to follow: 1. No flaming at other players, please! Let's be nice, now. 2. Please always remember the 3:1 ratio; the 3:1 ratio is 3 reviews for every piece of work you post. This way, every one's work gets reviewed, and it puts your name out there more for more people to look at your works. 3. CAPS LOCK and ch8spk is not allowed. This is a writers site, so good grammar, spelling, and capitalization is appreciated! However, 'lol' is accepted. We do have a chat room on YWS, but even there we use proper writing; though, lol is accepted once again. 4. Rate your work just like movies. If it has any mature scenes, excessive violence or language then it'll need to be rated. Members of YWS are of different age groups and persona so they might not like something. 5. Of course, have fun!
That's it for the rules, so now to some basic knowledge here on YWS: Greeters: People like me who greet newbies like you.
Instructors: they are the purple people who give awesome reviews after all that’s their job.
Junior Moderators(JMs): they are green and their job is to make sure the forums are running smoothly, if you have a question about a forum ask them.
Moderators: dark green people who keep the site running nice and smooth.
Adminastrators: They are red and are responsible for the whole site. Nate, the creator of YWS is an Admin.
Distiguished Members: they are orange and are retired mods or admins.
Okeydokes! Now for the 20 (or less) Questions! Hehe. Do you prefer dogs or cats? White, dark, or milk chocolate? What type of writing do you like to write? What are some of your favorite books? Do you have a favorite author and who is she/he? What's your favorite movie? Did you participate in NaNo this year, or in the past? And...one more: Do you prefer rainy days, or sunny days?
Ooh, by the way, I'm Mizzle! If you need anything, you can just message me and I'll be happy to help! -Mizzle
