It was great motivation; a lot of people wanted to do it, and a lot of people started to. I'm not sure that everyone finished, but those who started certainly boosted their review count.
Starting December 5th, I'm planning to do 100 reviews in 15 days (and, that's to put it the sane way; I'm trying for something more extreme, like 300 in those 15. It's possible). Like last year, it would be great to have the motivation of others as I go along, so if you're up to it, please join me.
These reviews don't have to be extensive, in depth critiques, but they should be well-writ reviews. None of the slip-shop reviews allowed.
It sounds intimidating, but it's not; that's about 6.5 reviews a day, and if we say you pace yourself to get 7 done in a day, you'll have about 107 reviews by the time you're done. It's also a good way to jump start yourself for NaNo-editing. By reading other people's work for proofreading, it becomes easier to spot common errors in writing. So! If you put your NaNo down for about two weeks and do this, you return to it with a fresh, sharper eye.
So.
