Anything else acquired by the testing: He can see things one second before they happen - it's almost like his vision is always blurred because he sees now, and one second into the future at the same time.
Lily shook her hair out of her eyes. It was 6pm on a Tuesday evening. Almost time. She bustled around the room, trying to make the sicker ones comfortable. A girl sat far in the corner, coughing her lungs out. Her white hair was thin and tangled. Lily silently walked to her and started rubbing her back "Shh, its okay Veriane. You can get through this." Her coughing slowed. Lily sank down next to her. Suddenly, the door to their prison opened with a hiss. Two burly men in white coats marched in holding a clipboard. Looking around, he spotted Lily. "You need to come with us." Lily glared. "Yeah and you need a shower, but neither of those things are happening very soon." The whitecoat looked almost surprised for a second, and then proceeded to drag her out of the room and shut the door.
I came into this world wrinkled and ugly. And no matter how much I accumulate here, it's a short journey. I will go out of this world wrinkled and ugly. So I enjoy life.
Personality: She's pretty quiet most of the time, but not in a shy way; she simply doesn't feel the need to talk to people that often. When riled she can get pretty fiery, but other than that she'll just be lost in her own thoughts. If she does have a close friend, they'll probably be her friend for life.
Appearance: Kind of short (5'4) with messy brown hair that's cut below her ears. Her eyes are a lovely emerald green. She isn't thin, but she isn't big either; she's just average. Generally wears faded blue jeans.
State of Health: She isn't too ill yet, but is coughing slightly. She quietly refuses to ignore or avoid sick people.
Gender: Female
Extra: Definitely up for love.
Anything else acquired by the testing: Can read peoples surface thoughts. She can't read deep into people's brains but can see their intentions and formost thoughts.

My coughing started up again. My throat and lungs burned, and I wouldn't have been surprised if I began coughing up blood. I felt unnaturally cold, and began to shiver. I shrank as far back into the corner as I could, staying as far away from the others as possible.

Rae drew her knees up to her chest and surveyed the room with half closed eyes. Lily had already been taken out, so she supposed that others might soon follow. Part of her hoped that she'd be spared today, Rae didn't think that she could take anymore tests this week. But she also knew that if it wasn't her then it would be someone else, and she wouldn't wish that on anyone. Her throat constricted and she let out an abrupt, hacking cough. For a few moments she was doubled over, trying to cough out the phlegm that had collected in her throat. And then it just stopped and she managed to sit up again, wiping her mouth painfully.

The whitecoats shoved her into a small white room that smelled of antiseptic. Looking around, she spotted a woman wearing.. you guessed it. Another white coat. Lily rolled her eyes. "Is today dress like a nerd day? I must have missed the memo." The lady didn't say anything. She started preparing a half dozen different needles filled with multicolored liquids. Picking one up, she turned toward Lily. "Hold still," she said, and pricked Lily's skin with the needle. Instantly, Lily felt sicker than she had ever felt in her life. Unable to move, walk, and talk, she keeled over and vomited. The lady took a few notes on her clipboard and continued on with the next needle, and the next, and so on so forth. By the time the lady brought her back to their cell, Lily felt like death. She wanted to die and get rid of the pain. As soon as the woman left, Lily sank down on the floor and closed her eyes.

I scrambed to my feet and raced over to Lily. "Lily, are you okay?!" Lily let out a weak moan. I felt a lot of concern. "Speak to m-" I broke off and began coughing violently. I threw my arm in front of my mouth. This time I did cough up some blood. I felt it, warm and coming up my windpipe. When it reached my mouth I was still coughing, so it splattered on my sleeve.

Richard stood by himself in the room. He starred at the white wall for what seemed like hours until the door opened. Two people entered, a man and a woman. He over heard the woman finish a sentence.
"The other one was a failure, still causes sickness."
So I'm not the first to be tested today? Richard was special and was kept from the others because of this fact. No matter how bad his symptoms Richard has always been able to keep his physical strength above normal. The scientists view him with high hopes and so treat him a little differently.
"Are you ready Mr. North?" Asked the woman.
"Mr. that's rather nice of you to say." Richard smiled and she smiled back. Her guard is down and other seems preoccupied with his notes. Richards gazed moved towards the position of the needles. Got to go for it.
"You okay?" Asked the woman.
"Just a moment, I feel a spasm coming on." Clenching his chest Richard started to cough violently and staggered to the female scientist, the man paying no attention.
"Here let me..." but suddenly the woman couldn't speak. Richard had been faking it and had taken the needle from her stabbing her with it.
Taking another needle from the tray he quickly took out the other before he turned around and notice. Swiftly removing the mans coat he put it over his own clothes. Taking a look out the door he made sure no one was around and shut the door. Casually Richard started walking towards the cell block. Two Pawns down, and I'm in enemy territory. I wonder what the next move will be?
Who is stronger; the one who never gets knocked down or the one who never stops getting back up?
I sputtered and coughed, in a distant corner away from everyone else in the cell. Chills ran up and down my spine. I closed my eyes and folded my hands, praying, though I sometimes doubted He would answer. It was, as if, in my life the devil had taken over. But I believed, still, that He was up there. Maybe. 'God, please...please help me, help us,' I murmered softly, and then said a quiet 'Amen' and dropped my hands. I sat with my back to the wall, wishing I had a pillow. Wishing but not recieving. They didn't care about us, 'they' had cast aside like defects...which we were, but of what were defects of I was unsure. Usually I understood things quickly, too. I looked over at the others, feeling a sense of strange love pulse through me. We'd been through so much together, yet we barely knew eachothers names. I wouldn't be the one to ask their names, either. I just continued to sit in the corner, trying to mask the sickness pulsing through my veins.

She could hear other people crying, people her age. Children. Coughing and hacking seemed to be all that ever heard anymore. It was almost like a song, a sad, terrible song of pain and loss. Some people talked, some didn't. Why talk when you have nothing to look forward to in life? She could see someone in the corner, coughing, and decided to speak with them. She would offer comfort in the best way that she could.
"Were you praying?" She asked softly. She didn't want to startle the person. "It sounded like you was praying... I would pray with you if you'd like." She waited, but the coughing person just looked at her.
"Sometimes I don't think he's there either..." She said, "but then I realize that we're not dead, yet, and I'm grateful for that, even though it's a terrible way to live." She sat down with this person and gently touched their shoulder.
