Rena

I rolled my eyes. "You think so? What, you just accidentally read my mind then?"
"No, I just ..."
I sighed and turned away again. "Sorry, sorry. I'm in a bad mood today. Just ... ignore my outbursts. But please try not to read my thoughts; I like to think of them as private."
She nodded, "sorry."
I smiled and jerked my head at the guys behind us.
"So, d'you know them?"
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

-Spock.

I didn't know what to answer but some truth wouldn't hurt would it?
"He-umm-well-yes, I know him, the blue eyes one." I said to her. "As i told you, his name is Gabriel"

"Ironic, somehow, a demon named after and angel" Rena said

I laughed, I had mocked him many times before for that little thing wiht his name. Gabril the name of an angel in a demon.

I skidded to a stop as I smelt the human. But there was another scent...one that made my nose sting, and made me want to rip the creature apart. I growled and sprinted faster. I could prove myself now...I could. I had changed suddenly into my wolf form and my fur glistened in the moonlight. I saw the human I had chased earlier, and there, a new face, a pale white face...

Paul Thatcher

As he turned to face the werewolf, trying to find some way out of this, a deathly cold hand clamped down on Paul's shoulder. He tried not to think about what it would feel like to have inch-long enamel points sink into the tender flesh of his neck...

The creature pulled him backwards so Paul was standing behind it. Suddenly the boy frowned. From the back, it looked almost like...

"Leave the human be," the vampire hissed.

Paul's jaw dropped.

His brother's voice hadn't changed a bit.

Moonchanger

I snarled. This vampire was messing with my prey. "Why should I?" I growled. "You disgusting creature."
"Let him be, or you'll find yourself in a whole lot of trouble. If you leave now, you will be okay...for now..."
"He's my prey," I growled.
"Leave the human alone half breed," the vampire hissed. I felt fury gain inside of me. He had called me a half breed. He knew, everyone knew. I wasn't even a half breed. I had been bitten. I wasn't pure.
"How dare you!" I spat. "How dare you call me a half breed!" That was when I couldn't take it anymore, I lunged at the vampire with all my strength. I wouldn't be called something I didn't want to be. I wouldn't be called something I suddenly wasn't. The vampire, would pay.

The Thatchers

Reuben tackled the werewolf, throwing her sideways against a tree. "Don't," he hissed, "think for a moment I don't know why you want this boy. He's ours."

Paul's face paled. "Reuben, you're not... not going to..."

"Shut up." The vampire turned back to Moonchanger. "You're not taking him with you."

Layla:

I decided to follow Sharona and Anne's advice. The pack sat anxiously while I debated the best possibly plans in my heads.

"Alright, Rayen, you come with me, we're going to check this out," I commanded, "But Sharona, Anne, you circle around from the side. Wait until you hear out signal. The rest of you, guard our backs and if you see or hear anything, alert us."

Rayen quickly ran to my side happily. We bolted off towards the place where Rayen smelled vampire, but were quickly stopped in our tracks. A racket was coming from somewhere nearby. Kicking it into high gear, we bolted towards the noise, hoping it wasn't Anne or Sharona getting into a fight.

What we saw suprised us, for I heard Rayen take a deep breath along with me. A vampire tackled a werewolf while a human trembled nearby. We were still in the shadows, but I could tell action needed to be taken.

"Pin the vampire down, but do not kill him," I commanded. Rayen gave me a bloodthirsty grin.

"My pleasure," she replied before getting a running start and tackling the vampire.

Reuben had been distracted by Moonchanger and hadn't seen Rayen coming.

WHAM! He found himself lying on his back, a snarling wolf sitting on his chest. She lowered her teeth to his neck and gave him a look that clearly meant Don't move.

Reuben sat as still as he possibly could.

Paul didn't know what to do. If Reuben really had been going to take him to his new coven, there was no point sticking around here. But had he? And would running really be a good idea? If the werewolves had already seen him...

"Don't think about running, human, if you value your life."

Well that helped him make his decision. Paul froze.

Rayen

With a graceful leap, Rayen's front paws clashed with the chest of the vampire, slamming him hard to the ground. She brought his teeth down to his throat, a throaty wolf chuckle escaping her jaws as she pressed her pale ivories to his jugular in warning. Her yellow eyes darted upwards as the Alphess turned towards the human. The vampire hissed under her grasp and she opened her maw, clamping it around the vampire's neck and slamming his head into the ground.

"Watch your neck, bloodsucker, or I'll rip it out," came her soft growls, pressing her paw down harder on his chest, her slim frame tensing in readiness in case he should attempt escape.

The vampire glared up at Rayen distastefully. This was most uncomfortable, and a bit humiliating. He could almost see the other vampires laughing about his plight. Being Paul's brother, turned only so they could get close to him, he'd never been accepted by the other vampires. Not really. That was because they suspected the truth.

"Don't kill the human," he rasped.

I snarled. This was supposed to be my fight. Why was this happening? Why did Rayen have to but in? She was born into the pack, she didn't need to prove herself.
"Leave Rayen. I can handle this by myself."
"Yeah, I can see that," Rayen smirked. I growled and tossed a glance at the human who the vampire had protected.
"You say he's with you, are the vampires so helpless they can't even bite a human to change them?" I smile cruelly.
"Are the werewolves so weak they have to depend on non-pure bloods?" the vampire rasped.
I growled in response and began moving toward Rayen and the vampire.
Rayen quickly growled and made me back up. I knew she was tough, and she could put scratches on me, even though I was part of her clan.
"Rayen please, I only wanted to prove myself," I said, looking down.
Rayen through a look at me, a cold harsh look, a look that stung, like a million wolf bites.

Layla:

Rayen had done her job well, but apparently too well. I walked out of the shadows, my shoulders hunched, the hair on the back of my neck ruffled. Moonchanger looked in my direction with suprise and the vampire's eyes narrowed at my approach.

"There's no need to prove yourself Moonchanger," I said, "Sometimes others must deal with a situation. This one is most interesting." Moonchanger hung her head, her tail between her legs. I didn't mean to take away her kill, but there was something weird, even for vampires, about this.

"Let him up Rayen," I said. Rayen did so, but snarled softly at the vampire.

"One false move," Rayen warned the vampire. The vampire stood up and crouched defensively, his fangs bared. He had courage, I gave him that. I slowly moved over to the shaking human.

"Give me one good reason I shouldn't let Moonchanger have her way with him," I said, my bright eyes boring into the vampires.

I looked gratefully at Layla. I appreciated her standing up for me. I looked back at the human, he looked so weak, so helpless...but I couldn't think of him that way. He was an enemy, and I had caught him trespassing.

Reuben

The vampire watched them, eyes calculating. He didn't want to betray his vampire brothers and sisters, and he certainly didn't want the wolves to get their paws on Paul and his information. But he definitely didn't want Paul to get killed.

"He has information that might be important to you," he said, dropping his gaze.

Paul's face paled even more. "Reuben, what are you doing?"

"Shut up, Paul."
