Nodding once, Conrad started off towards the town at a light jog. He knew he needed to get Masumi to the hospital as soon as possible, but there was no point in that if the snake bite on his neck reopened. There'll be some serious questions at the hospital...like why he wasn't injected with any venom.
Shaky as Masumi appeared to be, Conrad knew he was still awake, and decided that he would question him as he ran. "Why didn't Arun kill you?"
He knew it had been Arun who had bitten Masumi, or at least he assumed that was the way it was. There was every chance that Whiteside had replaced the cobra by now, but Conrad doubted it all the same.

The scorpion stood to one side of the meeting, leaning against the wall, relieved to be back in human form. Though he appeared relaxed, he was, in fact, stretching every limb, getting the feeling back into them.
He frowned a little at the suggestion of torturing so many shifters. After all, he was more like them than he was like Whiteside. Dalton resolved, silently, that he would cause no more pain than was carried in his neurotoxins - but he would deliver those to every shifter he could.
He followed Rebekah, Spot and Arun out of the room, his mind focused on one thing: where his targets would be.

Ignoring the question, I asked where we were going. "To the hospital," Conrad said. I sighed, "You do realise that there was a mass escape when I got out and more than one person got hurt so the hospital will be the first place Whiteside will look..." I trailed off as he countered, "Well what do you suppose we do? Let you bleed to death? Any way you are avoiding the question I asked earlier." I was silent, trying to decide if I should tell the truth. "I'm guessing you were with Whiteside a while before you managed to escape?" No answer. I continued, "Well I was one of the first, and I knew Arun before even that. We were friends..." At that moment I was set down on the ground, Conrad eyeing me mistrustfully. I figured I wasn't getting helped until I explained properly. "Hey, name the animal Arun tormented the most," I said to stall for time. "Hmm," he said, "There were a lot of animals he tormented, but there was one he really hated. I think it was a Ly-" "It was me," I said having changed to my Lynx form, "Before I ever knew about the shape shifters in that building there was an escape plan, involving Arun, Sora and I. We were to meet at a certain point and i would smuggle them out. I was at the wrong place and they were caught, Sora was badly hurt and before Whiteside would help her Arun had to swear fealty to him. As his revenge Arun sold me out and I ended up stuck in a cage for about 5 years. In short, Arun and I hate each other. The only reason he let me live was because I knew his weak point and promised to look after Sora who had escaped earlier. If Whiteside finds me in a hospital, A) I will be put back into that cage and I wont get another chance to get out, and B) Arun will kill me." I changed back into my human form and tore the shirt I had on me into a long strip and tied it around my neck, not too tight. " I will be fine as long as I don't over do it." I said, "First of all I need to find Sora because if anyone else finds her they won't take too kindly to finding her." As I said this the wind brought us the smell of bird and ... Blood.

Arun quietly scented the air, taking gulps of air through his mouth and tasting all the different scents around the area. Wordlessly after picking up the scent of tiger, he shifted to his cobra form and slithered through the chain link fence, not caring whether the others chose to follow or not.
