I shook my head. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a crumpled up piece of paper. I also dug out a pencil that was about a half an inch long. Then I tapped my head with my forefinger, and pointed to his head. Comprehension came to his eyes. "Ahh." I nodded a little dejectedly, and put my paper and pencil back in my pocket.

"then how come you don't just talk to me that way?"

She pointed to the collar.

"Then do you want me to take it off?"

*sorry its short*

I nodded again. I may not trust him much, but if he got the collar off I'd be able to do much more than what I could do now. He stepped towards me, and it took a lot of self control not to leap backwards. I did however, stiffen up noticeably.

((So if there's a place for my character to pop in...))

I got to a slave encampment from the looks of it, a few dead people lying around. Someone must've gotten out. The fear in the air was giving me a headache, so I turned to check out the city. It was not a very large city, and it was dirty and relatively quiet.

I should leave before the guards see me.

I started walking, not really going anywhere, but just walking and looking. I turn down and alley way, then down another, and pretty soon I'm stuck in a labyrinth of cold walls, alone.

All alone.

Tears welled in my eyes as I realised that there was no Fen to hold my hand and lead me back to our little home. There was no Fen to make that home what it was; a place of comfort and happiness. Now it was just a house, a place to shelter me from the rain and wind and snow. There was no Fen...

I sat in that cold alley and prayed to whoever was listening that I would die and meet my Fen again.

((Er, that's a bit problematic. My character's supposed to be an intern working for one of the PMCs, so just dropping him in anywhere may not work. Any ideas?))

ooh, idea for buggy:

You could be walking around outside somewhere for some reason and run into someone (literally). That's all I got.

he could be tagging along with a group trying to work a deal with that group of slave traders we just got out of, and the PMC sends a group to get us and you have to go with them.

((Oooh, I didn't realise it had started. I just saw that Gspp and I both have mind powers. I don't mind, just checking everyone's cool with it.))

Frankie

I was in the city for once, hiding in alleyways and dodging round corners. It would have been dangerous but my power meant I was checking the minds around me, and whenever I found something dangerous I could get away easily.
I stopped concentrating for a second and bumped into someone, they didn't seem to be dangerous but I wasn't taking any chances. Reaching into their mind, I told them to walk away and forget me. Simple.
Then something happened, I hit a blank. I knew that it was someone, the very fact that there was a blank space told me that. But why couldn't I read their thoughts?
I crept round the corner and saw in front of me two Witchers. One was taking a collar off the other's neck. I stepped forward until they saw me.
"Hi, I'm Frankie."
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

-Spock.

I nearly leapt out of my skin when I heard the new voice. "Hi, I'm Frankie." I closed my eyes and breathed deeply. The man that was removing my collar seemed startled as well. I felt the collar leave my neck. I rubbed it in relief. There was a red ring around my neck. I smiled and reached out with my mind towards the man who had saved me. "Thank you, so so much." I then turned to the newcomer, stiff again. I wasn't willing to touch their mind, so my hands leapt into action. "What do you want?"

((Mm, I'll see if I can't come up with something a little less coincidental. If not, I'll just make something up.))
