Being stuck in the back of the machine was not fun, and the way that Jaden was pressing buttons randomly was making me wish that I had lied and said that I knew how to control the thing. The interior of the robot was shaking and swaying madly, not always in my favour as I was being crushed by Irik, and then suddenly, flying. Not knowing where we were I suddenly yelled, "ARE YOU CRAZY? YOU NEARLY KILLED US!"
Jaden yelled back at me, however I was not paying attention as I had fell out of the seat and was concentrating on not falling out the cockpit, although it might of been safer to be out side. I was slipping, my legs were dangling out the small hole and my fingers felt like they were being ripped out of their sockets as I wrapped them around the mesh floor.
Glancing up for just a second, I saw Jaden reach for one of the more obvious buttons and before I could think to try to stop him, the button was pressed.
Mayhem.
The whole structure of the robot screamed as the missiles launched from the sides at different times, it had not been designed to be put through these stunts and the stress was warping the body of the machine, at that moment I decided that I was willing to take what ever was out side rather than face the perils that I foresaw here. I closed my eyes, counted to three and then loosened my fingers. I slipped out through the hole and landed paratrooper style (?) on the sand below. Forgetting all else, letting whatever instincts I has been born with take over. I ran past the other group as they clambered into the trucks, past the smouldering, broken mech, and I sprinted towards what looked like the main gate.
Suddenly I snapped out of my primitive state and noticed that the gates were electric when I managed to push the gate open to let me through. I remembered the others at that moment and I realised that they would never be able to open them wide enough for the trucks to get through, nor would they have enough time to open the gate with the controls. Cursing myself and hoping that I wouldn't get caught I scrambled over to the gate control box and started systematically switching the switches. Ignoring the sheet of paper stuck to the wall which contained what may have been the instructions, I finally managed to get the correct combination for the gates to open.

The gate opened just as the trucks made their way over. The first two drove out with no problem. Karana, who was driving the third truck, saw Kenji standing by the control box. She stopped the truck beside him and yelled, "Get in!"
Kenji nodded and climbed into the seat beside her. "Let's get out of here," he told her.
"But what about Irik and his brother?" she asked.
"They'll catch up, let's just get moving!"
Karana hesitantly nodded and drove out of the complex.
After pressing every button he could see and pleading with the machine to stop, Jaden managed to turn off the missiles and thruster. Now that the mech was no longer spinning out of control they could see the damage they caused. Pretty much half of the complex was in flames.
Irik pointed at the giant mech and said, "Hey, you took it down. Great job, Jaden!"
"Y-Yeah..." Jaden was more concerned about the rest of the base that he had destroyed. He hadn't been prepared to blow up half of a military facility. Movement off to the left caught his attention. The trucks were leaving through the now open gate. "Brother, look! The others are making their escape!"
"What are we waiting for? Let's join them!" Irik said.
Jaden grabbed both control sticks that were sticking out from the ground. As his hands wrapped around them, one of his fingers slipped and pressed a button on the side of the left stick. A tiny door in the front of the mech's body opened up and fired a missile at the part of the base that was still standing. It blew up in an explosion twice as big as any of the other missiles, turning the whole building into a pile of rubble.
Irik smiled and patted him on the back. "Way to go, Jaden! Nothing like making a flashy exit, I always say!"
"But it was an accident!" Jaden said. "My finger slipped!"
"No matter, let's catch up with the others!"
Jaden nodded as he used the controls to turn the mech around and run after the others. The mech was pretty fast despite its size. They were able to catch up to the trucks in a matter of moments.

(Sure, I'll fill you in. But I suggest you also read some of it yourself. There's some pretty funny things that happen with my characters that you missed out on.
Everyone was brought to a prison cell by the soldiers. Irik busted everyone out by stealing the keys of the soldiers guarding them and knocking them out. While everyone made their way to the trucks outside to make their escape with, Irik and Jaden went to the hangar to find something they could use to fight and get past the mech patrolling the complex. Kenji goes after them cause he doesn't think they're smart enough to do it on their own.
Karana leads the rest of the group, along with the the villagers from Jirachai, outside to the trucks. But, one of the spotlights catches them and the whole base is alerted to their attempt to escape. Before the soldiers could get a chance to take them away, Irik, Kenji, and Jaden come flying out of the hangar riding a miniature mech. Jaden's the one driving, but only because Irik told him to. It didn't really matter who was driving, since none of them knew how to pilot the damn thing. In a panic, Jaden starts pressing all sorts of buttons. Soon, the mech is spinning out of control, shooting missiles all over the place. Kenji also decides to jump out of the passenger seat, thinking it was probably safer outside the mech than it was inside, and runs to the gate control box to open the gates for the trucks.
Using the distraction the boys had caused, Karana tells everyone to get in the trucks so they could escape. On the way though, Rebbecca gets shot in the back and is carried to one of the trucks by Kasey. She ends up dying in Kasey's hands as they drive away (because Arya decided to drop out). Karana is driving one of the trucks, the only time she stopped was to pick up Kenji before leaving.
When Jaden finally got the mech to stop spinning and shooting missiles in every direction, he notices the trucks leaving. He tries to follow after them, but accidentally presses another button that fired an even bigger missile, which blew up half of the base. After being congratulated by Irik for making a "flashy exit," Jaden pilots the mech to follow the trucks.
And that's where we are right now.)

(Our characters are just concerned about getting a safe distance away from the base. Then when they feel safe they can stop so they can bury Rebecca. It's at this point where Irik is going to do something important for the story.)

I looked at Kasey she just sat there holding Rebeca's body and still staring at it as if she couldn't processe the fact that she wasn't with us any longer. Rebbeca's blood covered Kasey's body as if it was her own, I felt horriable this was my fault. . .if I didn't of trip then Rebbeca would of still be here. . .It seems where ever I go death always follows.
The truck jerked to a stop, breaking through my thoughts. "We need to dig a grave." Kansas voice sound rough with grief. I nodded and hopped out to help as Kasey just sat there still holding Rebbeca's body. I'm not sure why I was helping I wasn't any use to any one. I just didn't want to stay by Rebbeca's body, it was to painful.

I couldn't move all I could do was stare at Rebbeca's body and think of everything that we every did togather. It was like a gaint hole had open up in my heart leaving me there. I could barely hear the people talking something about a grave. . .I felt like I was there forever. Before I felt someone tugging on Rebbeca's body.
"Kasey. . .we need to bury her." Irik voice came it was diffrent this time not defient but gentle. I couldn't let go not yet. . .
"Kasey." Irik voice came again. "I know how you feel. . ." for some reason him saying that made me mad. How could he feel the way I did? I knew her for 15 years. . .
Rage engulfed me as I felt my fist fly and hit Irik in the check. "HOW CAN YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL??!!" I wailed as more tears fell down my face, as I went to punch him again.

Irik made no move to dodge or block the punch. Her fist hit him on the other cheek and made him stumble back a step.
Jaden moved to climb out of the mech and help his brother. "Stop it! He's only trying to he-"
"Jaden!" Irik shouted. The tone in his voice made Jaden stop and ease back into the mech's pilot seat. Irik turned back to Kasey and said, "Go ahead, hit me again."
Kasey's eyes began to burn more with tears. She screamed and punched him two more times. When she tried for a third time, he caught her arm and pulled her in for an embrace. His face was by hear ear when he said, "Jaden and I used to live in a village called Uendo, before the Empire came and burned it to the ground. Both our parents died during the raid ten years ago, along with everyone else in the village. To my knowledge, we were the only two that made it out alive. He was four years old at the time so he doesn't remember what happened, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I know what it feels to lose a loved one, as well as watching your home burn to the ground knowing there's nothing you can do to stop it."

I watched as Irik pulled Kasey into an embrace, he whispered something into her ear and she calmed down. I felt slightly guilty as I had been the one who had brought the empire to these people however I did not know what to say to her and hung back as the others went over to consolidate her. Instead I looked around for some hard ground, and once I had found some, I went back to the trucks to get something I could dig with. Once I had found some spades. I went back to the spot I had found and started to dig, I didn't notice that the others came to watch me, however I stopped Irik when he tried to help, 'I brought the empire here and caused all this bother. Besides,' I said with some black humor, '50 is a round number.'
When I had almost done, Jaden asked me from above, 'That man, he knew you, how?'
I knew that he would keep on asking me until he got an answer so I told him a half truth, 'That man, destroyed everything I ever knew.'
