Hunted

Asuka

my phone rang and i answered it.

"Asuka, where are you?" it was Theo, "The meeting will be in a few more minutes. Hunter is not yet here but get yourself here."

"Don't worry, Theo, i'll be there."

"What are you doing anyway?" he said.

"eating," i said before i hung up. i stared at my empty kitchen before i sighed and think of hinata.

"This was certainly what i planned for when i agreed to work for Hunter" i sighed to myself as i prepare my clothes and went to the meeting place just hoping that Hinata won't be that serious on being a hunter.

Yet despite my suspiscions on how Hunter teach the otehr hunters on what to do, i had no choice but to follow until i find a reason.

Can some one please do me the favour of killing off my character?

Naomi-

It took awhile but eventually Peyton was up on her feet showing us where she met the hunter, where she'd conjured up the beast that killed Gale. Not right now Naomi. We've got other problems.

"What are we looking for?" Deacon asked.

"Something of the hunters. A hair, a thread... something."

"And how are we going to track him?" Violet asked.

I turned and pointed to my nose. Peyton looked confused but the rest of them understood my smell from the sewer. Ugh, I will never be able to forget that.

There was an odd snarl/growl from somewhere. Another one of those beasts? Did Peyton come up with more?

"Oh, I wish I had eaten more before this," Jackie said quietly and put a hand over her growling stomach. Just a stomach growl. No problem... wow, so this is what it's like to be paranoid.

"Food!" Violet groaned.

"What's the matter?" Jack asked.

"I promised to have dinner with someone, and I missed it. I better call and apologize." Violet took out her cell phone as we continued the search for a smell sample. I know it was wrong... but I eavesdropped on Violet's conversation from afar.

"Hey Theo, how are you?"

"Okay. Is something wrong?" a voice over the phone asked. It seemed familiar. Had I met whoever it was Violet was talking to?

"No, I just wanted to apologize for missing dinner. I was... too busy."

There was laughing on the other side. "That's okay. I wasn't able to make it either. That voice. That name. Where had I heard it? Suddenly it came back to me. I was outside of the alley when Jack and Gale were fighting Asuka and... Theo?

Flasback** "And what? Kill me? You're funny. Hey Theo, do you want to help me or what?"

"Whatever," someone muttered. **End Flashback

That someone was Theo.

"Alright, talk to you later. Bye." Violet hung up and I looked at her with big eyes.

"How do you know Theo?"

Asuka

I came a little late and the present hunters sat before the Hunter on an abandoned apartment on the east of the city.

"You're late, Ms. Hiruna..." The Hunter told me off but i ignored him and walked beside Theo who glared at me.

"You're late,"
"Sorry, i was hungry..." i said before i was hush by the new girl beside me. I saw Hinata sitting at the far end concentrating to what will happen.

The Hunter looked at us before he slammed his fist on the table that made us silence.

"Delays!" he shouted, "I am sick and tired of delays. For a month you only but captured 20 teenagers for me. By that time, i personally could have captured a hundred. You are making me a shame to the other main Hunters around the world." he continued babbling on on how we hunters are making his sad.

I looked around teh room silently wondering to what had happen to the teenagers we had captured. He never said anything on why he wants the teenagers.

"...from this day on..." he added, "I want each of you to be assigned to one

Asuka

i came into the meeting late and everyone looked at me. The Hunter gazed at me with a sharp look before i sat down beside Theo.

"You're late," the Hunter said aloud.

"I apologized for that. I was-" i tried to replied but he put his palm forward to siloence me. I followed him and saw that Hinata was sitting at the end of teh row gazing at me with her harp eyes.

"You're late..."theo said.

"Really..." i whispered in sarcasm, "I really did not know that. Enough, i have reason, The..."

Wham! The Hunetr slammed his palm on the tabel.

"Delays!" he shouted angrily, "I am sick and and tired of delays. Tell me, Ms. Hiruna, how many teenagers were captured this months."

"Twenty?"

"And you call yourself hunters! If it were me, a hundred would be done in less than a month. Are you making me a joke to other Hunters around the world?"

The Hunter babbled on and as i listened he did not say anything to what he did to the captured teens. I secretly stared at my phone checking the beeper for the shape-shift boy if he is alive or not.

"This time," he added, "I want each of you to capture one person. Enough of sticking to teams. Each of you is assigned to one and i want them alive! You got it!."

we nodded in unison before the hunter showed us a sheet on which teen we need to capture.

Naomi-

"I met him earlier today. We went out for coffee and I was supposed to meet him for dinner. Why?"

"Nothing. Um, can I see your phone?" Violet looked hesitant to give it to me, but she handed the phone over. I remember my brother watching something about spies and tracking through phones. Maybe we could do it. I looked at the recent number and pressed talk.

"I need you to talk to him."

"What's going on?" Deacon asked.

"Jack, you remember the fight in the alleyway?"

"Yeah, Gale... Gale had been kidnapped and next thing I knew we were fighting two hunters."

"I think I may have found the second hunter who attacked you guys," I said softly, Violet looking ticked.

"Theo's not a hunter!"

I was quiet as the phone continued ringing. Suddenly the monotone voice message voice answered and intructed to leave a message.

"Dangit."

"What did you need to do?"

"I was hoping I could hear something on the other side that would give away where he was. Maybe we could find Hinata."

"But he's not a hunter. He can't be," Violet protested. I didn't know what to do anymore.

**dun dun duuuuuuuun. Drama!**

Theo

I grabbed Hinata by the shoulder. "You. Stop daydreaming. I have very little time to teach you how to use your sense, so you'll just have to learn by experiance," I said firmly, striding down the cob webbed corridors as she jogged to keep up.
"Are we going to get the others?" she asked, with no compassion for her former friends present in her voice. I grinned mirthlessly, nodding as we emerged from the base and into a pitch black alleyway.

Peyton

"I- I back you on that Naomi," I said quietly, as she turned around to regard me. "When I created the creature the first time to save Hinata... I fainted. You remember?"
The group nodded. "Well... in order for me to keep the thing alive I had to... take over it."
"So..." Deacon began slowly. "You saw who the Hunter was then?"
"I'm not sure but..." I turned to shoot a look at Vi. "I think it was the same guy you were with, Vi."
She gritted her teeth, turning away from me silently fuming.

Asuka

I saw Theo adn Hinata leave. By the attitude of hinata's body i can tell she is getting more and more cold.

I walked out before th Hunetr called my name,
"What is going on with you Asuka?" he said.

"What do you mean, Asuka is always Asuka..."

"You're getting soft, Asuka. You were kidnap and from what i heard from Theo, you were against by his forcing of Hinata..."

"It is not right, Hunter but that is for me but as for you, I think we are in different sides." i left the base and looked at the note on the name of the teen i need to capture

nAOMI

I remember him. He was the brother of Gale. I looked at his name before i went on my own.

It was night time and as i stood on the roof of my apartment, i sniffed the air for any scent of him. He was close. There were some police cars and ambulance that i saw by the distance. It must be with what ahd happened by the sewer.

I took a deep thought for a moment. Hinata's scent is nearby as well but i did not want to bother for now.I wnet down, took a warm bathe before i rested for a moment. It has been a long day and all i want is to have a short nap.

Hi, is there room for one more person

Naomi-

Jack looked up at the sky. "It's getting dark," he muttered.

"Where should we stay for the night?" I asked Deacon. I don't know what it was, but he had been a kind of leader throughout this whole thing. He kept his head cool even when facing the beast.

He shrugged. "I don't know." I sighed and then looked at Violet.

"Violet, I'm sorry if this is a shock, but..."

"But nothing. I don't want to talk about it."

"What about tracking the hunter? We can't possibly do it at night," said Peyton.

If only I had some sort of tracking power. I hate being useless.

"Isn't there any place we can go?"

Naomi-

"I-I guess we could go to my place." No one didn't complain as long as there was someplace to go for the night.

We walked down the ever darknening streets and didn't arrive at my apartment building until the street lights turned on.

"12th floor," I muttered, out of habit, and walked in and to the elevator. (This is a fancy apartment complex)

"This is where you live?" Deacon asked. I grimaced. Please don't say I'm rich. Please don't say I'm rich.

We came up to my apartment's door and I opened it a crack to see my brother, still in front of the video games.

"Hey, are mom and dad home?"

"No, they went to dinner. The sitter was supposed to be here-"

"Good." I opened the door wider and allowed the others inside. Sam looked at them all and then at me.

"Mom and Dad said no parties."

"This isn't one." I crouched down and looked at Sam directly in the eye. "If I could tell you everything I would, but I can't. I just want you to promise me that when I tell you, you will hide in your room under your bed. Clear?"

"As mud," he answered and looked at the teens behind me. "Who are all of you anyway?"

Looks were exchanged and some of them shifted uncomfortably. How were we supposed to answer that question. Violet stepped out, and extended her hand.

"Hi, I'm Violet." Okay, that's a way. Sam and the others started introducing themselves as I went to scavenge anything out of the fridge. Jackie looked over and cheered.

"Yes! I'm starved!" The others came over and took the chips and leftover pizza and ate. Even cold pizza tasted so good after what has happened today.

Asuka


my phone rang and i picked it up.

It was from one of the new hunters...

"What do you want?" i askd as i prepared for a warm bathe.

"Hunter told me to keep an eye of you. He says that you're acting strange."

"Am I? Really...then tell him that i'm on the job. I had found my target's apartment so i'll go pay them a visit soon."

"So what are you doing right now?"

"taking a bathe, us females hunters do not need to hunt all day, right? We need a break..."

there was a pause

"Don't worry about that, I'll take care of Naomi as fast as possible. So what did you got?"

"Hmph, why would i tell you?" she said before she hung up. I spoke under my breathe. I know now where she lives and i will get her before the end of the week.

**I thought Asuka's target was Jack?**

Naomi-

"We can't stay here too long," Deacon said before taking a peanut. I looked at Sam. The kid was having the time of his life talking to everyone and laughing. He was lucky, he got mom's side in him and could talk to anybody and make friends with anybody.

"Naomi? Are you listening?"

I looked up at Deacon. "What?"

He rolled his eyes. "I said we can't stay too long. Who knows when a hunter might show up at the door?"

I sighed and ate a peanut. I really didn't want to leave the apartment. For the first time in a long time it felt warm and wanting and Sam had never been so talkative.

"Let's stay for a little bit."
