I thought it was really cute my second night when a bunch of the boys were playing Super Mario and some other nintendo. It seems like half the time, we're either watching people play video games or CSI. It's on right now, so I gotta go get back and find out whodunnit.

And we don't have roommates per se. Everyone shares a washroom with one other person, but the bedrooms are private.

Heh. I love college, and I love my dorm. Its only four floors, houses about 350 people. Common bathrooms, and shared sleeping rooms, unless you pay extra for a single. But its still pretty cool. We have our own pool and meal hall, everybody else has to walk far to get to theirs. We have cable tv and ethernet in the dorms plus a big screen tv in the lounge. Plus, on sunday nights, we take a laptop and some mega speakers outside, and watch movies and smoke and eat and whatever else we want to outside the dorms. Its awesome. The only bad thing is its the farthest dorm from everything on campus.

People are really abusing living in res. The paramedics (who make up half of the people living in res) have a class at eight thirty today. I caught a couple guys in common room watching TV at eight fifteen. One wasn't even properly dressed. I thankfully only have one hour of class today, and that's not until ten thirty.

I doubt most college students are walking around bearfoot, in shorts and a T-shirt they slept in, eating breakfast, ten minutes before class. I generally go to class bearfoot all the time. I personally believe that the only real purposes of shoes are protection and warmth. So when those are not factors, I don't wear them.

I love living in the dorms! I'm rooming with a friend, but we have four other guys from Vegas and they're some of the coolest people I've ever met. And since it's a church school (BYU), we get to know a lot of people in our hall and in the residence halls next to us, and we interact a lot. Not to mention that I just happened to be put in the coolest hall on campus! Pretty much everyone I've met at the dorms has been awesome and easy to get along with. Of course, it helps that we're mostly all Mormon, but it's more than just sharing a religion that makes all these people so cool.

Anyway, dorm life is great.

Oh yeah, I totally get what you mean, Bobo. It was awkward for me when I started going to multicultural school, but now it feels strange not to be surrounded by visible cultural diversity. Cornwall's not half as diverse as any of the cities. But all you need is an open mind and an acceptance of the fact that we're all different.

There's only forty-four people living in our res. It's really very cool. And twenty-two of them are in the paramedic program. I'm in the educational assistant program. Fortunately there's one other first-year EA and a second year. So that's cool. Del is quite the character, and Mike is just wonderful.

On my way to class today, I got the cutest look from someone who noticed I was bearfoot.

I feel really sick today, so I was really happy that I live just down the hall from class. I didn't have to miss it even though I couldn't be bothered to get dressed.

you live in a sissy dorm!! private bedrooms and semi private washrooms?! I share a shower with the entire floor, there are 8 shower stalls, all draining to the same hole in the middle of the room. Luckily we get durtains, but the hangers for clothes are on the wall as you come in, so theres still some public nakedness. Its 3 stories down to half a kitchen with a broken microwave and a toaster oven that takes 15 minutes to bring two poptarts from cold to cool. We have a nice oven though, with a stove. and a working fridge. In our room we get to have a 4.3 cubic ft fridge, and a hot pot for ramen. I could make a hotdog cooker out of a disposable camera...

Sounds kinda like my dorm, but mine is better kept from the sounds of it. Tell me, Qi, how does one make a hotdog cooker out of a disposeable camera?

The best years of college I had were my first two when I was in a dorm since you become friends with everyone in the hall and it's always easy to find something to do. I spent my last two years in a townhouse, and while it was nice to have a kitchen, a living room and a TV room, it didn't compare to the charm of living in extremely cramped quarters with someone else and having about thirty people within a fifty foot radius at any time during the day. It was always a lot of fun trying to figure out how to fit a TV, two computers, a couch, a mini-fridge, air conditioner, three fans, a few chairs, and two beds into a room that was scarcely bigger than 10 by 10 feet.

Anyways, wish I was back in college. I'm working 45 hours a week now, and I would really like to go back to only 15 hours (usually less) of class a week.
