Rey:

The way the girl referred to men and the spite that was directed at him had convinced him that it was safe for him to reveal his secret.

"I am half hobbit," he replied. Her eyes widened in surprise. "And seeing how I'm half hobbit, I am also only half man. So, you can trust me twice as much." She smiled at this and relaxed slightly, but her bow was still leveled.

"If I let you go, you have to promise not to harm anything in the woods." Rey looked straight at her.

"Constance, I give you my word as a rider that I will not hurt anything here." She studied him for a moment, then lowered her bow and nodded.

"Be on your way," she said levelly. He nodded and she left, running swiftly and gracefully into the woods.

Constance-

Half hobbit? Amazing, I had never seen a hobbit before. They were said to be friendly beings and there was a story of one hobbit saving Middle Earth. I saw truth in his eyes and let him go before taking off to the woods. I needed to talk to Treebeard about this.

Slowing Cerean to a stop, I looked back. Fangorn had become a dark outline about as tall as my hand was long. Scanned the border with my eyes, sharpened with my elven blood, I saw something that seemed out of place. Do I know that figure?

Rey? She'd often sparred with him. He was younger than most riders but he was a good man...short, but a good man all together.

"What is he doing near Fangorn?" She asked herself outloud, sighing, "I'm not supposed to be at Edoras again for nearly a day...maybe I should check this out..."

* Sorry Ballow i was having a bad day and i guess it affected my characters*

I'm better off without him i thought thinking of the man i had inadvertently freed and he without me. ALthough maybe some company would have been nice. No i mustn't think like that i have to get to Fangorn and find the group my father spoke of. I wandered onward stopping only to get some lambas bread from my bag and even then i ate on the move. If only my horse still lived. This trip would be so much faster. As i hurried along i began to feel as though something was following. I couldn't be sure but i hoped it was Ballow. He hadn't seemed so bad. For an outlaw. Maybe the world wasn't so bad anymore, i thought idly. I set down my pack and lit a fire before unpacking a small tent and lying down to sleep my sword at my side.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

Rey:

Rey stood alone in the clearing, wondering why he'd just shared his deepest secret with a girl he didn't really even know. He sighed. He doubted she would say anything to anyone important.

Suddenly, Rey got the odd feeling that he was being watched. Maybe these woods weren't as deserted as he'd thought. He crouched behind a gigantic tree and silently drew his sword. As he peered out from behind the tree, he saw nothing, but as he drew back, he felt the cold touch of steel to his neck. He froze. The blade pressed harder against his neck, forcing him to stand. As he turned, he saw who his captor was. It was Kaida. He suppressed a grin, memories of friendly sparring rushing back to him.

"It's a little late for you to be in these woods, don't you think?" she asked.

"Only if you are unarmed," he replied. He brought his sword around and knocked it from his neck. She grinned, challenging him to attack. He laughed, the playful hobbit side of him kicking in. His sword met hers and they fought. Before long, Rey found himself on his knees, beat once more. He smiled up at her.

"You always were a better fighter than me," he said. He got up and brushed himself off. "So where've you been all these years? You left Rohan and I haven't seen you since."

I shrugged, sheathing my sword. Discussing my heritage wasn't exactly a smart thing to do now-a-days. Being half-elf had taken everything away from me. I didn't want another friend to leave me too.

"I just...needed to leave, I guess. Don't worry, I'd still die for Rohan, but I'm more in the background now."

It was true, being related (distantly, I'll admit) to the king, I was still quite loyal. I'd been bringing in reports at night to him. Though cast out, I'd never stopped being a Sheild Maiden.

"So what are you doing this close to Fangorn?"

I was immensely fascinated by the exchange taking place between the half hobbit man and the red haired woman. When I had heard an intruder coming, I had hidden in the trees, pulling a small knife from my belt. I had watched Constance speak with the short man, and now watched him with this lady. I'll admit: I was very easily distracted. And overly curious. I felt compelled to figure things out, and anything vaguely unique held my interest, like the half-hobbit.

At the same time, watching the two spar, I realized that I had to be getting back to my camp to report what had happened. These people were no danger, so I sheathed my knife, a little disappointed that I couldn't fight. I was a generally peaceful person, but a fight every once in awhile was a good way to mix things up.

Turning away from the people on the edge of the forest, I sighed, deciding to head back to camp.

Nyxe

The cart slowed to a stop, right at the edge of Fangorn.

“Thanks,” Nyxe whispered, getting off the cart. She touched the man’s shoulder and scurried off into the forest.

Nyxe placed her hand on the bark of a tree and smiled; it had been a while since she had last gone through these woods. She grabbed a hold of the lowest branch and gracefully scrambled up into the tree. Standing up a few limbs up, she listened, and heard. Horses galloping. People talking. She wouldn’t be alone.

Nyxe leaped to the next tree, and the next tree, and so on and so forth. That is, until she came to a short man speaking with a redhead. A horse was munching some grass a few paces away. She might as well try; they would find her sooner or later. Nyxe stood up on the branch and leapt onto the horses back and spoke to it in Elvish “Quickly, please, go.” They sped off in a matter of a second, but even that was too long. Nyxe fell to the ground with an arrow lodged in her side. Well, that plan failed.

“Stop! Who are you?” the man called as Nyxe ran into the woods. They would no doubt catch up. Even if she was an elf, she was injured.

She wondered,

What will the do to me?

Rey:

The graceful elf dashed into the forest, her hair streaming behing her. Rey swooped onto his horse and galloped after her, following the steady stream of blood.

"You'll never catch her Rey!" shouted Kaida. "She's pure elf, and by the looks of it, she knows this forest." Rey pulled up his horse and stared into the dark woods. She was right, and besides, his horse would never make it back. He sighed; he wished he could've at least talked to her. There was an extra horse in the group that he could've given her.

He walked his horse back to Kaida and dismounted. He looked at her and shrugged.

"The men in my group are still pretty loyal to elves," he commented, "She could've come back with me if she needed help."

"She's an elf, Rey," she said, "I'm sure she can take care of herself." Rey nodded.

"You're probably right." For the next few seconds, Rey racked his brain for something to say. An awkward pause ensued, in which neither of them could seem to start up another conversation.

***Sorry, I really couldn't think of much else to say!***

I watched as my, well, my kin, ran into the forest. She had disapeared and I felt a pang of sorrow. She could run, be with her people; I didn't really have a people to run to.

"They're loyal to the elves? Really?" I kept my expression the same; you learn to do that when you're fighting for your life. "That's rare. I'm proud of you, Rey." Cerean snorted beside me, lipping my shoulder. I stroked his cheek and looked into the dark woods again.

Lalaith

I was sure they had heard me run away. But I didn't turn back. I couldn't get distracted again, or else everyone in my camp would start worrying that I had been hurt. I didn't have much to report, though. Just that a few men had tried to cut down some trees, had been burnt out of their camp, and that everyone seemed to be coming to Fangorn. Including riders of Rohan, half-hobbits, forest-dwelling women, and...

An injured elf woman running past. Blood seeped from her side. Someone was following her. Apparently, she didn't want to be caught up with, or else she wouldn't be running.

Thinking quickly, I weighed the pros and cons. Helping her would be another distraction, and take away time. However, she was another elf. I owed it to her to help. Sighing once more, and cursing myself for being so compulsively distracted, I darted out from behind a tree and snatched the girl's arm. She stumbled slightly, gave a start, then noticed I was an elf. Stealthily, I guided her through the trees, sheltering her in a thick patch of bushes. I listened carefully for the man.

Constance-

There was too much stirring in the forest. First an elf then a half-hobbit and a human, and now an injured elf laying on the forest floor. She had been galloping hard when she suddenly fell off and didn't get back up. How could I ever explain all of this to the Entmoot.

I hopped off of a tree and landed in front of her still body. Her pulse was fine and her hands still warm so she was alive. I sighed and picked her up. Her horse was long gone so I would have to carry her. The spring was nearby and I could tend to her there.

I began to run with the elf across my shoulders. I had never ran while carrying someone, so it was difficult. But I got her there and started tending to her wounds.

(Wait, Lalaith was tending to Nyxe. How did Constance get away with her? Sorry, I'm a little confused, or else I'd just go along with it...)

I think we might have posted at the same time because when I posted, your first post wasn't there.

Oh. So do you want to tend to her then, and I'll say Lalaith left, or should Lalaith have just not been paying attention, and then follow your character?
