Totally cool MidnightVampire. And feel to have Korah talk, if something’s off I will let you know, I am pretty laid back so I won’t be mad/annoyed

Korah and Nhara – Animal

What do you think Nhara? Korah asked as he cast a side glance at the large tiger.

I believe him, he’s scared, and for a good reason. The Shadow Clan doesn’t take lightly to threats, least of all to traitors. If he is truly here to help us then we can hardly loose him. Let him go, and tell him we will mark our trail so he can find us incase we end up leaving.

Korah nodded as he turned to face August. The young man opened his mouth

"Just do me a favor. Don't tell anyone, besides Nhara. I'm afraid they won't trust me as much anymore. Maybe you guys could find another guide and shelter while I'm gone."

“No problem,” Korah answered. We have no choice but to trust him, he said to Nhara After all he did fight with us against the Shadow Clan. “Go and I will make sure no one knows, but be careful August, you walk a dangerous edge. And if you so much as turn on us… I will not hesitate to kill you.” It wasn’t a threat, more like a warning, and one that August took without so much as a blink.

“I understand,” he replied, “I will be back soon.” Turning he walked off into the forest and soon was lost in the foliage. Turning to look at the others Korah let out a tired sigh as he reached over and scratched Nhara behind the ears. The large tiger let out a purr as he whispered, “Things sure have gotten interesting, and who knows where it will all take us from here.” He moved forward to where Zan and Aldiae were still sitting. “We should make a shelter and some fire to cook whatever food the others bring back,” he called.

“I’ll deal with the shelter,” Aldiae said as she reached over to a nearby tree and began to stroke the trunk, talking slightly to it in a light, almost song like voice. The branches above began to slowly move together, intertwining as vines stretched up to tie them together and leaves began to sprout to form a sort of covering. A few minutes later they were sitting under a covering made naturally by the trees.

Zan let out a soft whistle as she said, “Whoa.”

Korah chuckled, surprised to as he said, “Sweet Aldiae, I had no idea you could do something like that.”

She smiled back as she reached into her pouch and began to pull out some food. “I don’t eat meat,” she told them as she got out some berries and herbs.

“Good,” Korah breathed in relief as he sat down, “Neither do I. After you talk to an animal it is almost impossible to eat it.”

Zan just grinned as Joe and Jess came walking into their little camp. Jess held a couple fish while Joe was holding what looked to be a wild turkey of sorts. “We got dinner,” Jess said with a grin as she slapped the fish down on a large flat rock and yanked out a knife. She began to skin them as Joe joined her, cleaning his bird as the others prepared the fire and got things ready. Soon the sounds of laughter drifted up into the night sky as they all relaxed and enjoyed a good meal. For once they all forgot how different they all were, how they came from totally different clans, and how they were crash landed God alone knew where. But it was probably good to forget that, of so Korah thought, who knew what lied ahead, and some relaxation was what they all truly needed.

Zan - Metal

When I woke up the next morning, the sky was still steely. The sun was a white semicircle, still not fully golden. It would be an hour or so before the sky would turn a light blue and the sun bright yellow. Good. That gave me enough time to practice with my powers. I carefully made my way around sleeping forms, I found a small clearing, quite close by to where the others were sleeping.

"Who's there?" a voice cautiously asked. My eyes widened and I instinctively searched for metal, trying to find something sturdy enough to make a weapon. However, when I saw who was there, I relaxed. Korah, his tiger, and Jess were all there, staring where I had come from. I rubbed the back of my head, nervously laughing. Jess already had both her daggers in her hand, and Nhara was warily staring at me.

"Sorry, sorry. I woke up early." I glanced around, wondering why they were already there. "What were you guys doing?"
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.

Aldiae - Earth

"I know, right?" I said to Korah and Zan as I made our shelter for the night.

Dinner was good I guess. I was so glad to hear that Korah was a vegetarian too. I wasn't alone after all. The plants on the land that we were on (whatever it is) tasted like nothing I've ever tasted before.

Soon, the night died down and we picked where we were going to sleep. I made our hut bigger than what we needed on purpose. That way we could have our own personal space. Nhara ended up sleeping a few feet away from me. And boy, could she snore. Though, it was nice hearing the animals as I drifted off to sleep.

I awoke with the sound of footsteps. But they weren't human footsteps.

It was like a monster.

I decided to wake up Jess to see if she would hear it too.

"Jess, do you hear that?" I asked, while shoving her.

"What?" She said, sleepily. Then she perked up. She heard it too.

"Shusshhh." She said.

Nhara woke up too. All of us listen to the sound of something coming near us.

Then it stopped. We were all quiet. Jess had already gotten out her daggers.

We decided to step out to see what it was.

It was dawn so we had a little sunlight to see. But there was nothing there.

Suddenly, Zan came up behind us.

"Zan!" I gasped.

"Was that you?"

"What was me?" Zan asked.

"That sound...though it was obviously something big. You didn't hear it?" Jess said.

"No...." Zan said.

Jess and I looked at each other with confusion. Zan had to hear that something was coming didn't she or see? It was definetly something large. And dangerous.

August-(Shadow)

It was almost relaxing to be a shadow once more, though I knew in reality it was draining up my energy. I had turned into a shadow when I reached the water. It felt so odd to be flying. I rarely did this, but it was much easier than flying in the water. It seemed like forever as I glided across the water, through the night and into the early day, until I came to a small village area. I found a little shade outside the village and devoured an energy bar. It was the same, terrible kind that my instructor and Father gave me after I finished practicing. Though I didn't seem to notice the taste this time, I was too weak to care. In the comfort of the shadow, I fell asleep and slept for several hours.
I realized that I said I'd be gone for only two weeks...but I was gone for much longer.I hope to stay on this time. :)

Korah - Animal

Korah’s ears pricked up as he slowly glanced around. “Aldiae, do you know where it is?” Korah asked, hoping she might be able to sense something, maybe where the creature was.

“I don’t know,” she admitted as they peered around into the forest around them.

Joe and Jess had woken up. Turning around the two peered over at Korah and the others who were all crouched down and staring at the forest around them. “What is it,” Joe murmured as he stared at the others, his groggy expression showing he had yet to wake up.

Korah opened his mouth to answer, but the sound of a tree snapping echoed through the forest, causing the others to jump as they all whirled around, looking for whatever was making the noise. Jess and Joe were now fully awake, and standing to their feet they hurried over to the others were. “What are we dealing with?” Joe demanded, his eyes searching the shadows for a sign of a threat.

“Wish we knew,” Zan muttered.

It’s odd Nhara murmured its like I keep catching the scent, but it quickly disappears, dissolving into the air like nothing is there.

“Nhara says she can’t tell if something is there,” Korah muttered to the others, “its like there is something there but it keeps disappearing...”

They all paused, waiting, and as the minutes ticked by not a sound could be heard. “Are you sure there is something there?” Joe muttered as they all began to slowly loosen up.

“It’s weird,” Korah muttered, “I could have sworn I heard something...”


Not really sure where we want to go from here so I will just stop...

*Ok, guys...JC to the rescue.*

Aldiae

Everyone waited but heard nothing. Since we were already up, all of us just decided to get to work.

"If we're going to survive..." Korah started.

"the tree shelter isn't going to be enough." I said.

"Right. I think our first task is to make some more shelter. And get food." Korah added.

Everyone nodded wearily and got to work once again.

"I'll go get some more medicinal things." I said to no one in particular.

The forest seemed different today. Quieter and somewhat stiller.

My ears perked when I heard leaves crunch again. What was following us? What was following me?

I turned around to look straight head on into a bear's face.

A perilous scream lept out of my throat just as a roar emerged from the bear's mouth. His claws scraped my leg.

*something to write about....I don't mean to make Aldiae such a damsel in distress but I needed something dramatic. ?*

Zan - Metal

Hearing a shout, I immediately snapped my head around. I heard a quiet crack- probably my neck- but tried to focus on where it came from. Pressing a hand to the ground to gather metal, I looked around. Was it an animal? Another person? Who was missing...?

Aldiae!

The scimitar only half-formed, I crashed through the bushes, headed in the direction the scream came from. I couldn't hear anything else, but it was bad if somebody would start screaming. Back home, we would only start shouting if someone is dying or near death. Maybe if very frightened, but we learned to stay quiet from an early age.

"Aldiae?" I asked. "What happened?"

Silence was my only answer.
There once was a cat.
