Evan~~

Once Evan saw the maze he knew that he was going to hate this exercise more then usual. The maze always meant sparing match, and the losers of that were always chosen to do the more painful experiments that night. The objective of the maze was to either knock out your opponent or make it to the other side if the maze first. He and Spook stood there waiting for their entrance to slide down. When it finally did they ran, though it would have been easy Spook could not phase through these walls, which meant they had to deal with the maze to the fullest. They set the first trap quickly, it was a gook shooter and like its name said it shot gunk at the people that would harden and seal them to the ground. Evan began to draw a bolt of lightning to his palm but before he struck Spook ripped it out. Evan charged forward setting the next off, a laser that shot freeze rays, easily Evan ripped it open by heating up the inside. They kept forward dismantling machine after machine and eventually came face to face with their enemies.

Melanie~

We quickly made it to the other side. We would not be last this time. I pitied the other teams still looking for the exit. I remember when I had the grave misfortune of coming out last.

It was a terrible day already. Nothing was going well. The guards and the scientists were had tried to nail into my head the fact that my God does not exist. That science replaced religion. But I refused to believe. And I hit them with a powerful fear for their life.

I was put in the labyrinth with the others. But my previous battle scars from my fight with our "confederacy," our scientists. My leg was swollen and I stumbled over everything.

I knew they were scared for me, my fellow mutated rats. But I could not be helped. It was too late.

They stuck pins into me and studied me hard. They made me run miles on a treadmill and poked at my eyes. I was bruised and wounded spiritually and physically.

I relaxed knowing I'd never be tested because of my strange power. Not now at least. I sat down with a water bottle to drink my fill. Nicole hyperventilated beside me.

Evan fought well. But we prevailed. His self esteem was way to high. He was on the brink of being considered an ego-maniac. That would be his failure.

The scientists always want to know more. I think that fear and hate will kill us all.

Jason (Spook)

Another one of the 'cement cannons', as they were officially called, popped out of the ground, zeroing in on his feet. It fired off a pulse of its gunk, but Spook simply stepped through it, hearing it crackle and harden onto the ground behind him.

"This is ridiculous." He muttered, grabbing the cannon with his mind and tearing it away from the metal floor. "They electrify the walls so I can't just walk through them, but they don't make any of the traps remotely challenging." In his anger, he punctuated each word by slamming the machine into the wall behind it over and over again, denting the steel plating a little before he tossed the broken scrap metal aside. He growled, "I hate the maze."

"Calm down, Spook." Evan murmured, standing a little ahead, staring down the next corridor, "Our opposition's here."

Spook cracked his knuckles as he stepped to Evan's side, smiling, "Melanie and Nicole. Good to see you, girls."

Evan shot him a look, "Nothing more than knocking them out, if you have to resort to violence. They live, alright?"

He had the good grace to look offended, "I wouldn't kill another lab rat. That'd make me no better than the officers!" He sighed, "Of course, I can't let you girls win, then they'll dock my rations. And I haven't eaten in some time."

Before Melanie could do anything, Spook vanished, starting to tear the metal panelling off the walls on either side of them and creating a barrier. She'd probably foreseen this, but it didn't mean she'd be able to do anything about it. He started pushing his new wall forward. He'd force them right back to the start if he had to, but they'd probably just take a side passage.

Evan~~

Before Melanie could raise the dead Evan quickly rose the earth around her and shot her off the top quickly, catching her into a tornado bringing her down. The he turned in time to see Spook attacking Nicole from an unseen area. Ha they had thought they had lost but really that was the trick. It was all Evan's doing, he had summoned earth and bent into their shapes and hide him and Jason their, then when the time was right they hit bring them down quickly and hear. That was the thing with Melanie, she never checked anything out, when she thought she won she thought she won and that was it. Evan listened as he heard the hiss of the maze walls fall and the doors open sending four bracelets at them and then darts. Evan and Jason fell with the girls and they were carried half conscious to the lab.

"Get up you filthy mutant." shouted a gruff officer from the doorway "Time for your exercises." He smirked. Great, i thought, battle lab again. With that i was dragged bodily out of bed and pushed into my own personal hell. A huge plastic room faced me filled with the most creative, ingenius and down right weird creatures the officers could come up with. Before my wristband even hit the floor i'd split it into three metal spheres the size of marbles. "Fun time" i laughed sending theballs whizzing around the room, some breaking creatures bones others ripping through their vulnerable areas. A few of the creatures ran straight for me. Stupid animals, i thought as the first one pounced at my out stretched hand. The moment his body touched my arm all the iron in its blood was ripped out of its chest in a red mist which i quickly formed into a thin suit of armour. The next creature pounced and i simply extended my gauntlet into a blade and dismembered it. With that the metal balls finished their killing spree and returned to my hand. A few moments later slepping gas began to fill the room and i had just enough time to swallow one of the balls and hide it within my stomach. Not long now, i thought, not long till freedom.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

I was the first to get taken down by the traps created by the officers, in the maze, or so i thought, but when i opened my eyes and looked around i realized that beside me lay Evan,Melanie, Nicole, and Jason. A few seconds later they too woke up.

We had been rendered unconscious by sleep darts, uniquely made to put the victim to sleep instantly without the slightest side effect, that is other than the unbearable pain one felt once one woke up after the dart was shot at one.

"Look who's here" Said Evan nodding at me.

"Hey Zire" Greeted Melanie.

"Hi" I whispered in reply.

"Back with us again aren't you?" Asked Jason grinning.

For the past week or so I kept on appearing wherever Melanie or Jason were after a exercise. At first we all thought it was a coincidence but now i knew that there was something behind this strange behavior of the officers.

"As usual" I replied, my face showed no emotion.

It was then that the bands to control our powers let go of our hands and the door opened.

*Fine with the others?*

*Boltageman, Melanie's powers are certainly more complicated than merely "raise the dead." She's a necromancer. It's deeper than that.*

Melanie~

We were all sitting on stretchers. The horrible cold metal ones. The scientists had sedated us and brought us here. He was still intent on us finishing his mission.

"All of you did a spectacular job." They told us. Something close to emotion flashed across his face.

"Here's the deal, you help me and I'll help you lead normal lives."

Normal... what's that?

[You guys moved fast in a day. Here I go...]

Nicole:
Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. If she didn't focus on her breathing, she was sure to have another panic attack, and the guards would probably beat her some more.

The last she remembered was panicking while her and Nicole were being attacked, then everything went black. Poison darts, to knock us out. She could feel the cold metal stretcher under her as she was being carried somewhere, probably the battle lab.

In between her meditations, she could hear some kind of conversation, "...here's the deal...".
A deal? What? She peeked open one eye and saw Melanie being carried on a stretcher next to her, and almost sighed with relief. She dared not pick up her head to look anywhere else.

* um forever i just want to say that they would not really need the rats to do a mission for them, they have a enough super powered guards and officers for that*

*Then why have they created them? And why would they want to risk their valuable guards? A dangerous mission could be achieved or not achieved by something disposable like the rats.*

*no the guards can be lost, and are trained to do the missions with minimal risk, while the rats are in bad conditions and have reasons to run at first chance and are needed to perfect the formula, the guards they care even less about the rats*

*Yes but, the rats do depend on the people. And the guards are just plain stupid and everyone knows that. The rats are the perfect people to carry out the mission.*

* no the guards are not idiots, they have the same intelligence as the rats, they have powers to, the difference is the guards (who are the officers) were trained to do the missions, i said it in the beginning the rats are there for testing the guards there to protect and bring in more, the people who gave the powers would never trust the rats to do a mission because they would most likely run and attack. That's why there are officers*

* there will be, the objective is to escape first, then later to take down the place, you need to start off the story though it can't go right to the attack.*
