New in Town

August glared at Anothony but Kay kept him from going after the guy again.

"My jacket, I think I left it here but I can't find it." He replied looking back at her.

"It's in the closet." She said slipping over to the closet and grabbing the leather jacket.

"Thanks, he won't come back will he?"

Kasie shook her head and smiled lightly, eyes still worried. "Hey, would you mind... um... maybe staying over tonight? I've got a crap load of movies, popcorn, soda, and any candy you could ever want. Okay... well... maybe a few bags of skittles and a few watchamacallits." She smiled lightly at him, the smile soon being replaced by a worried frown. "If you don't want to I'm fine with that. I was just wondering."

August looked at her then towards his house. "Alright, I'll just crash on the couch." He said as he tossed his jacket on a chair.

Kasie took the stairs to at a time and grabbed two pillows and two blankets. Walking into her room she spotted Anthony on her bed, smirking. "You like him, right?" He was smiling deviously. Kasie raised a questioning eyebrow and shook her head.

"Not really. Well... uh... I don't know," she sighed defeatedly. Anthony really had nothing to work with. Kasie showed slight intrest in August, but it wasn't like she was falling madly in love with him, and August seemed to not really care, but the fact that he had been protective of Kasie had given Anthony newfound hope. Now, he wasn't so sure. "I'm just going to guess you climbed up a ladder or something. Talk to you tomorrow Ant." She hurried back downstairs and tossed August a pillow and blanket before plopping her stuff on the other couch. "You pick out a movie and I'll make some popcorn," Kasie smiled lightly before disappearing in the kitchen. To think that only a month ago they were at each others neck. Things never stay the same. Kasie told herself. Monday he'd be back to good ol' Jerk Face.

August grabbed a movie, Texas Chainsaw Massacare. He put it in the dvd player and plopped back on the couch streaching out.

Kasie plopped down on the other couch, setting the bowl of popcorn on the coffee table so it was in front of her and August. Texas Chainsaw Massacre blinked on the screen, options below. Kasie swallowed hard. "Not scared, are you?" August teased slightly and Kasie laughed highly.

"Nope, not at all!" She hit play and put her pillow in her lap, just in case she got scared. Her phone vibrated and she answered it, glaring at the phone.

Let him hold you Kase. It was Anthony, teasing her. Kasie glared harder.

No! Jeez, back off for like ten seconds!

Aw, where's the fun in that?

Shut up and leave me alone!

I'll tell him scary movies give you nightmares and that you break into a cold sweat and whimper and cry and talk in your sleep and sleepwalk and do things you regret the next morning.

You do and I'll kill you! He didn't answer and Kasie sighed in relief, that was, until August's phone went off. She regained her composure and attempted to look as interested in the movie as possible.

August grabbed his phone real fast to read the screen, it said it was from Anthony.

"Your friend wants you." He said tossing it at her. He didn't want to read waht it said.

Haha, loser. What now?! Mwahahaha! Now, shoo fly don't bother me, I belong to nobody. She texted her little victory speech and put a block on anything incoming from Ant before tossing it to August. A gruesome face suddenly popped up on the television, causing Kasie to scream loudly and fall off the couch in a tangled heap.

August looked over at Kay who was now curled up. "You ok?"

"Ya." She whimpered. He walked over and pulled her up so she looked at him.

"No, no your not, how about you pick another movie out?" He smiled a little. She was scared of horror movies.

Kasie sighed and handed the DVD remote to August, smiling lightly. "No, it's fine. It's almost over anyway," she laughed softly, smiling widely. There were only thirty minutes left really.

"You sure?" Kasie just nodded.

August frowned but shrugged. "If you say so. These last thirty minutes are the worst." He said.

Kasie nodded slowly and exhaled. "Let's just put another in," August suggested.

"Yeah," Kasie nodded and laughed lightly, "Go ahead and pick one... just make it a non-horor." August smiled and nodded while Kasie laughed again.

August grabbed a movie that looked like a chich flick, he didn't know what it was calle,d and he'd probably get bored, but he owed her for after he put that last movie in.

By the time the movie was over Kasie was on the borderline of sleep. She had her knees to her chest, chin resting on her knees while August basically took up the rest of the couch. Her phone vibrated and she glanced at the new text message, which only had an angry looking picture on it. She shook her head, once realizing it was from Anthony, and rolled her eyes with a groan. He really was annoying her. He probably knew that he was getting to her, and that just fueled him onwards.

****I've nothing either, and I"m going to be skiing tomorrow then driving home the next day. So I don't know how soon I"ll be able to get back on. ****
