*Here's something about Daemon for everyone. I suggest reading it, just so you know some things. Now, the key part is, when the 'new character(s)' come in, no one knows they('re) bad. And secondly, this is just where Daemon is hiding and such, and about his powers.*

Daemon

He tapped his foot restless on the carpet floor. Around him, humans moved at such a liesurely pace it pleased him. He was glad they did not worry about such lives at 'alter-egos' and such.

Daemon opened his mouth lazily. He closed his eyes and tilted back his head. He could tasted the watery fairy fruit as it hit his tongue. Sweet, lucious, and crisp. The way he liked it. He chewed the fruit some more, and opened his eyes back up.

On both sides of him were his minons, Brizaaria and Lunaria. They were genies. Though they were alter-egos to one another, their loyalty to him had never changed, from back when they were children, and he didn't care about alter-egos, to now, when he slaughtered them without a hesitation. Did they fear him, is that why they followed him, or was it just out of the love in their hearts?

Brizaaria picked another fairy fruit chunk up in her pale orange hands. She batted her eyelashes as she dropped it into Daemon's mouth. Lunaria shot her a venemous look. Brizaaria shrugged her shoulders.

They sat amongst the humans, at the Centurion underground temple. Daemon ruled. Everyone followed. He was pleased. He liked it when everything went his way.

So I will post the applications for Lunaria and Brizaaria.

Vashhan

Nadira just pushed farther into the forest never slowing. She was built for this. She slipped through bushes and undergrowth unnoticed running as fast as she could. There was no way anyone could keep their eyes on her. She was in her element and she knew it.

Vashhan charged after her. He was slower than her but he was bigger and more powerful. He could definitely out run her in an endurance race. Vashhan, like any others in the forest, was having troubles also seeing Nadira. But luckily, he had other senses to contend to, like the dull pull that came from his chest when he got too far behind, or he could easily find her using her familiar scent. He risked a quick look back, hoping to see the witches following, and he did see them, but Raesa look absolutely disheveled. She would not be able to go on for much longer.

Hey, do you think we can take it down a notch? Our partners are barely managing to hang on. Vashhan thought blankly to Nadira.

That is your choice, for it is you who wish to kill Daemon. I am only here to help. Nadira thought monotonously back. She knew that his determination would kick in as soon as he remembered his purpose for running in the first place. She was used to saying small things like this to keep him running on treks like these.

Soon enough, she heard Vashhan's running footstep's pick up speed.

How much farther? Vashhan asked squarely. He could feel the adrenalin race through his veins. he could not wait for a good fight.

We are almost there. She breathed. But then Vashhan noticed the line of trees receding. They were getting out of the forest and into flat land. This didn't seem right. And as he approached Nadira who had stopped at the edge of the forest, he automatically knew what had happened.

She transformed into her human form and leaned against a tree only to slide against it into a sitting position. She quickly wrapped her arms around her legs and hid her face. She did not want to see the disappointment in his eyes.

"You had never actually found the scent did you?" Vashhan growled. "You brought us all that way for nothing. You were just deceiving us."

"I thought they would have given up by now. I had no idea that they would follow us for so long. I wanted to be rid of those witches. They will only tear your dreams apart." Nadira said in nearly a whisper. "I did not wish for you to fall prey to their selfishness. I would not let you be used." Her words slowly became a snarl.

"But you deceived both them and I. You made me believe you, Nadira. I thought you had spoken the truth like I always thought you used to." Vashhan snarled, venom in his voice. "I believed you."

"I thought they would have been gone by the time we got here. I would have told you the truth, here and then. But they held stead fast." Nadira looked up at Vashhan, misery evident in her eyes. "I was doing this for you."

And Vashhan stood there looking at her as if she was some strange person. Questions rushed through his head in dizzying moment. Why was he feeling so hurt and disorientated? Nadira had never acted like this before, so why now? What was going on between them that was ruining his only chance to find Daemon? There was so many unanswered questions and Vashhan couldn't stand it anymore. He slipped out into the clearing and look balefully at the night sky.

Nadira had led them all to a place which held many unregarded memories for Vashhan. He did not wish to be hear of all places. For standing there on a hill near the middle of the clearing was a old large building that was nearly smothered by tangled vines. It was evident that there was one a grand garden there but that was long gone. The flowers had long ago wilted away, and in some places an abundance of wild flowers sprouted. There was a large bare oak standing there, It would have to be larger than most of the trees in the forest and tethered to one of its branches was a swing that the wind was gently pushing, almost giving the illusion of ghosts there. This place was the place where Vashhan had first met his alter-ego, Nadira. This place was where he grew up valued and spoiled when Nadira was being beaten and broken, after all, she was not the original. For here stood Urchin Academy.

Raesa and Lazona came to the clearing at that moment and took bewildered glances at Nadira who was huddled in a ball against a tree.

"What happened to her?" Lazona asked bluntly.

"The scent has gone cold."

Raesa

Raesa stared blankly at Vashun. He moved away. Raesa followed him.

"Will she be okay?"

"What does it matter to you?" snapped Vashun. "She wouldn't care if you were in her position."

"I don't like it when people are - "

"Don't let her catch you saying that," Vashun still had not looked at Raesa. Raesa backed away slowly. He obviously was not in a talking mood.

Raesa moved back to Lazona, slightly concerned. Lazona was glaring at Nadira's burled up form distastefully.

"I doubt there ever was anything to follow to begin with. There was no rhyme nor reason to that goose chase we embarked on today..."

"Daemon might have planned it that way!"

Lazona snorted. "I doubt it."

Raesa pursed her lips. "You're being insuferable."

"Am I? I hadn't noticed..." said Lazona absently. She was now staring hard at the old building ahead of her. "Do you know where we are?" she demanded suddenly.

"Where?"

"Urchin Academy," Lazona's gaze never wavered. She was thinking hard. Raesa glanced behind her to stare at the building as well.

"Really?" she asked, not particularly interested. Lazona gave a sharp nod. She blinked, shook herself sharply, then glanced again at Raesa. Raesa turned back to her.

"I'll be going then..." said Lazona briskly.

"Where?" demanded Raesa, panicking. Raesa did not want another wild escape attempt. Lazona shook out her dress sleeves.

"Never you mind... I'll be back before long..."

Raesa stared at her as she strode away across the lawn.

Lazona

Lazona entered the old building cautiously. She wasn't sure what kind of security there was here, and as it was the dead of night...

Lazona looked around the old entrance hall for a door that looked as if it would lead to the cellars. Potions rooms were traditionally placed underground, for the cool and dry environment most produced created a perfect brewing environment.

After a moment's hunting, Lazona discovered the door. She quickly made her way down the steps and into the cellar. Small fire pits littered the ground where hundreds of students had brewed their potions. A large supply cabinet stood on one side of the room. Lazona wasn't interested in that. She knew that only the most basic supplies would be kept in there.

Lazona spotted a door in the corner of the room. She crossed the room swiftly and opened the door. The room was a private brewing room, obviously reserved for the professor. The center of the room was dominated by a large iron cauldron. A wooden table stood against one wall, equipped with chopping boards and knives. Three supply cabinets were crammed into the room as well. One of the cabinets had a large, obnoxious lock on the door.

Lazona smiled. That was the one she wanted.

She crossed the room, pulling a vial of acid out of her. As as she went. Lazona always carried the bag; it contained a collapsible cauldron, basic ingredients, a small chopping knife, three metal containers, paper, quill and ink, and a few vials of specialty potions. Lazona dripped a few drops of the acid on the lock. The lock withered away.

Normal acid would not do this; Lazona had her own special brew. One weakness in spells was that they could only defend against general things. Potions, on the other hand, could always have another specialty added to the list it was supposed to protect against. One of the main reasons Lazona concentrated on potions rather than spells.

Lazona jerked the cabinet door open quickly and scanned its contents. She grabbed pinchfuls of every herb she could find, quickly wrapped them up in paper, and shoved them in the metal containers. She snatched a few talons, a vial of what looked like some sort of blood, and grabbed three vials of a deep orange hair. Lazona guessed it was chimera.

Lazona shoved her contraband into her bag and quickly slipped out of the room, smiling to herself. Urchin Academy's rare potion supply was notorious. Faced with the chance to get her hands on the stuff, Lazona couldn't resist. Urchin had ingredients dating back years, which would explain the animal parts she found. Lazona could create extremely powerful potions with just a scrap of what she now had. Lazona was charged with excitement at the prospect.

By the time Lazona made her way out of the Academy, dawn was beginning to break. She spotted Raesa curled up under the oak tree, fast asleep. Feeling agreeable for once, Lazona settled herself down beside her. She glanced around for signs of the Lycanthropes. The stood at the edge of the forest, conversing tersely. Lazona smirked. For once, she had something over all of them. Every one.

And no one would ever know.

*So Firestalker, did you want Sael to sit at your table?*

Sael
Sael caught sight of Zander, who had a finger in the air, waving them over. Sael grabbed her bag and carried herself over to their table, lunchless. Sael was a fairly gray-looking fairy. She had the beautiful features like most fairies, sort of wispy, yet cute and mischievous. But her wings were dragon's wings, her hair black waves, and her personality sour. She'd had a nice conversation with Zander, which was surprising. He was fun to pick on.

She grinned as she came up to the table. "What is it, Zander?" she asked. Alarinna saw the table look towards the two fairies. She instinctively jumped behind Sael's wings, which were unfurled. Sael had a sly and curved grin on her face. At Urchin, this pair were slight 'Geeks'. Everyone found them off because their appearances were so different.

Sael didn't sit. She kept her hand-- which had been slammed down-- on the table, her eyebrow raised, waiting for a reply. "C'mon. I didn't expect you to take more than five seconds to answer! If you don't want our company, don't bother us." Then Sael grabbed her bag and turned on her heel, and began walking to find the exit. They'd sit in the trees this lunch. Alarinna turned and hid behind her again, he face hung low.

*umm, no actually i wanted them to notice that two completely different people who had never been in the academy suddenly appear in the middle of it. :P :? *

*And yes you did portray my characters right Vyper, i can call you that right?*

*What are the wanderers by the way?*

Zire

I tried to say yes but Zander cut in as usual.

"Sure we can leave, but after we find more... companions to go with us" said Zander.

"I agree" said the water nymph who had protested about leaving now.

"We stood up. There's a forest near here. Its been rumored to have people who want to fight against the Deamon, they may help us" I said scratching my head and reverting to my normal personality "Or they might rip us apart, but its a good chance"

"Idiot, no ones going to rip us apart" hissed Zander, rolling his eyes.

Shaiel

It was some time before he and the two Sirens, as he now knew them to be, reached the Urchin Academy. He probably could've got there faster if he'd flown, but he didn't know the way. Rason had been surprisingly silent since Shaiel had promised him an eventual kill.

Under all its vines, the Academy itself was almost as elaborate as the now ruined castle at August Hill. Why Daemon had left it standing was beyond Shaiel, and why there seemed to still be students attending it transcended his knowledge even further. He knew he would have left August Hill if Daemon had targeted here first.

But then, August Hill was more of a threat, given the Academy was just a school, whereas the castle had held the greatest of the non-humans, those who had prevented racists like Daemon committing genocide before now.

As they neared the lawn, a slight movement caught Shaiel's eye. A wolf - a lycan, Shaiel guessed - lay huddled at the base of a tree. He guessed she was a lycan because someone who could only be her alter ego was standing over her. Beside him stood a witch. But where's her alter ego? Rason's voice murmured.

He stopped just a few steps behind Ringo - if the psychopath tried anything with them, he wouldn't be able to fight Rason at the same time. He wouldn't even see him coming from here. But he didn't want that confrontation happening for as long as possible.

He held up a hand, alerting the wolf and her companions even as he greeted them, "Hello there!"

*Okay, here's the modified post*

Sael~

Sael grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. And did a double take. "Holy man! There's two water nymphs in here!" Sael nudged Alarinna's arm. Alarinna jumped. It was just like her to be totally spacing out when she was around this people. "C'mon! We need to go meet these people!"

Sael didn't take time to walk through everyone. She grabbed Alarinna's arm and yanked her into the air. Sael darted forward and crash-landed into a seat at Zire and Zander's table. "Howdy there!" Sael said. Alarinna's eyes were wide. She hated people looking at her. "We were just in the neighbourhood and you know... just saw the water nymphs and..." They weren't buying a single word she was saying. "Okay," Sael leaned in closer, "what I really wanna know if why you're here. It's not too often you get two strange water nymphs at a school outside the water without wondering a few things. We normally stay out of others' business, but this is too hard to ignore. So why are you here?"

Alarinna nudged her arm. "They can be here if they want!" she whispered. Sael waved a hand in her face. "Let them answer," Sael snapped. Alarinna shrunk back into her seat and waited patiently for the water nymphs to answer. Sael, however, was tapping her hand on the desk, impatient, unlike her opposite.

Vashhan

Vashhan automatically heard the deliberate shout and turned his attention away from his distraught partner. There standing just a little while off where another group of three, seemingly mismatched as much as his own group following. It seemed apparent from the distance that they all indeed were male, but it was questionable with the one who had hair that seemed to be made of brilliant silver itself. He seemed to be amost an angel, but Vashhan would not believe it. For what sensible angel would take the shape as a human by choice? And another unsettling piece was that man didn't seem to have an alter-ego. That one was the one who was raising his hand in greeting.

"I believe they wish to speak to you," Vashhan sneered to Nadira who looked up automatically. Vashhan had followed the angel-like ones gaze to Nadira. He felt a sense of fore-boding and protectiveness occur inside him.

"Just let them be." Nadira said, straightening up. "They will learn soon enough that we have no wish to talk them." She said, examining the three carefully. Vashhan was at an unease though. He sensed incredible power from these beings. They seemed to have even more magical capability than the witches themselves. He was not used to being intimidated like this. He turned away from them and looked at Raesa asleep lying there not even noticing the strong presence near them. She would know their true abilities.

And then it sunk in. Lazona was there, but she was not asleep like her partner. She was still breathing quickly and had a vile smirk on her face. He then smelt the foreign scents coming from her bag. Tools for Black Magic. He ignored it for now, because the ever sense of alarm kept making the hair on the back of his neck prickle. He wished to transform into his wolf form and run away with his tail between his legs but he would not.

"Calm down." Nadira said leaning against the tree with her arms crossed. "They seem friendly enough."

"Appearances can be deceiving." Vashhan said in nearly a growl.

"Think for a second. They can probably see you becoming ever more flustered. If they were to attack, they would know that you were scared and use that against you. I can understand why you cannot trust them, but you can trust me." Nadira straightened up and gripped his shoulder tightly.

"You proved that wrong a little while ago." Vashhan snarled.

Raesa

Raesa woke with a jolt. He head throbbed. She was no longer propped up by the tree; she was on the ground. She picked herself up carefully and spotted Lazona next to her, smirking. She wiped her hands on her dress and smiled maliciously at Raesa. Raesa scowled.

"Did you have to shove me?" she snapped. Lazona shrugged.

"The Lycanthrope wants you..."

Raesa turned to look at where Vashun stood. He was glaring at a pack of students. Raesa rubbed her head where she had fallen, attempted to straighten the mess of hair on her head, and approached them. Raesa heard Lazona pick herself up and follow Raesa, chuckling. Raesa frowned. What put Lazona in such a good mood this morning?

Raesa walked up to Vashun.

"Lazona said you - "

"Do you see those students over there?" interrupted Vashun. Raesa glanced at them.

"Yes..."

"The one with the blonde hair and wings?"

"Yes," said Raesa patiently. "What is it?"

"What are they?"

"How would I know that?!"

"You can tell how powerful they are, can't you?" snapped Vashun impatiently. "What are they?!"

Raesa's eye widened at being snapped at, then she turned to the students and stared hard at them. Raesa swallowed. She's thought the day had been humid. That was power she was feeling.

"Oh my..." she muttered, fascinated. She rubbed her arms. Now that it was identified, the feeling was becoming oppressing...

"What?" demanded Vashun.

"He's..." Raesa blinked and shook her head. "He's very powerful," she said mildly.

"I know that, but who is he?!"

"Er - Angel? Demon? I can't - I can't tell..."

"What do you mean, 'you can't tell'?!"

Raesa pursed her lips for a moment, she turned to Vashun, composed. "I can sense power, yes. All magical beings have that ability. The ones who practice magic have more sensitivity to power than others who are born with talents and expand them no further. I cannot, however, sense what something is without asking them. By a power estimate, I can guess what he might be... But that man is confusing. I don't know. I just - "

Raesa was cut short as the very subject of their conversation approached them.

Shaiel

As he approached, snippets of conversation reached him. One phrase blocked out all the others, and sent a chill straight through his body. Angel? Demon? I can't...I can't tell...

They know...they know! Rason whined. For all his apparent desire to take control of their body and wreak destruction on the world, he seemed to be taking great pains not to be associated with Shaiel. After all, a goody-two-shoes like him would completely undermine his image, and for a demon, image was as important as the reality.

In a lot of ways, it was the same for Shaiel. He had to make it clear to them now that he was on their side, that he had no intention to hurt them. For a moment, he gave the witch a look that said I know you know what I am. He didn’t realise that she didn’t know the full truth of him, he had to assume that she’d fully developed her powers and could tell what someone was just by looking at them.

He smiled even as he dropped his voice to a whisper, "The two behind me? Watch out for the one who calls himself Ringo. Ballow may seem like the more unpleasant one, but Ringo...well, let's just say that appearances can be deceiving at leave it at that." He knew that they'd apply his own words to him almost immediately, since they'd sounded as though they were trying to decide just what he was. But warning them about Ringo was more necessary, and they'd just have to realise that Shaiel meant them no harm, even if his less visible alter ego meant them plenty of it.

Vashhan

Vashhan let out a muted growl through his lips. He could feel his limbs tightening, almost begging to morph into his wolf form, but he would not. He would act civilized because he knew that if he transformed, there was a chance that he would lose control and he could end up attacking the three starting an unwanted battle. The witches would not be prepared to fight with Sirens and what ever this man was.

Nadira stepped forward to the three eyeing them caustiously. She usually did not like visiters but it was apparent that Vashhan would not engage in conversation this time.

"Thanks for the warning." Nadira said louder than she expected.

Vashhan felt a sickening churn to his stomach. Be off with them, quick. I hate being at this unease. Vashhan flashed the thought over toward her.

Now you know how I always feel when you are so reckless. Nadira sneered back.

"Who might you people be?" Vashhan said, his voice stronger than what his emotions felt. He prayed that he would not start shaking. He smelt death from the man with no Alter-Ego, yet he seemed to be of the nicest manner. Did he have another personality?

Stop thinking such ludicrious thoughts. Nadira hissed at Vashhan, at the same time sending him a breif glance. He had gone pale. "I am Nadira, this is my partner Vashhan. We are accompanied by those two witches." She gestured over at the witches disdainfully. She had nearly snarled at the words 'accompanied' and 'witches'.

Just thought to let you know Phantom of the Potter, that Vashhan is spelt with two h's not just one. I was thinking you might catch on after a while. It doesn't really matter, I just thought to tell you.

**Ah - shoot - I'm sorry - That would have really bugged me if it were one of my characters - Thanks for being patient...

Raesa

Raesa glanced at Nadira as she introduced Raesa and Lazona to the - being. Obviously Nadira still was less than pleased about the witches joining the Lycanthropes.

... And that man... What was with the look he gave her? Raesa was left with the distinct impression that he thought Raesa knew something she didn't.

"Er - Sorry... Maybe you've said already, but I don't remember catching you name..."

The man looked startled. "Shaiel..." he said slowly, looking carefully at Raesa. Raesa smiled nervously.

"Nice to meet you, Shaiel..."

Lazona jumped into the conversation.

"You've only answered half of our questions. What are you?"

Raesa blushed furiously as she elbowed Lazona. Lazona sidestepped Raesa's elbow and continued to stare hard at Shaiel.

Shaiel blinked. "Half-Angel," he said carefully.

"Half?" snapped Lazona. "Don't lie; whatever ou are, you aren't 'half' anything..."

"Lazona!" cried Raesa, horrified. "I really don't think - "

"If you are going by power, you may be sensing my other half..." said Shaiel quickly. "I can assure you, I am Half-Angel. My other half," he grimaced. "Half-Demon."

"And where might he be?" Lazona pressed on.

"We are one and the same."

"I'm sure you are. I've already said, do not l - "

"Lazona!" cried Raesa indignantly. She turned back to Shaiel. "You'll really have to excuse her. She - She can be very rude when she wants to be..." Raesa shot Lazona and irritated glance. Lazona shrugged irritably. So much for Lazona's good mood, thought Raesa.
