Recommended Romance books?

I've read that " A good writer is a good reader, and a good reader is a good writer"
And as a Romance writer, I'm looking for good Romance books to study, I can't really recommend anything but Twilight because that's the only Romance book that I read) Oh! And I read all of them already!

So... What do you guys recommend?

Hm, I'd recommend the Drake Sisters novels. They're very good. I especially like Oceans of Fire.

"Jane Eyre" by Charlote Bronte - A soft romance mixed with childhood living of the MC.

um..There is the Gemma Doyle triogly by Libba Bray.

Anything by Amanda Quick, Nora Roberts, PC Cast, and Meg Cabot is good research.

Lots of things by Sarah Dessen (especially The Truth About Forever, which is probably my favorite), Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt (Which is from both the male and femal perspective), Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr, Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin, Peeps by Scott Westerfeld, Hard Love by Wittlinger, and Looking for Alaska by John Green. That last one isn't really that much a romance, but there are love interests and stuff. It's really good, I would suggest it anyway. If you can't tell, I love romance books. Haha.

Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

...in fact, you really can't go wrong with her, as far as romance novels go! That's just my favorite. I am slightly in love with Mr. Darcy, who is the leading man in that book. In fact! Most YWSers rate Mr. Darcy more romantic than Edward Cullen! So definitely check that out.

Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell

Oh my... yeah. There are some great romances in here, but you may want to strangle a couple of characters because they're SO STUPID. Gah. Set in the Civil War down south.

The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Daisy... hmmm... yeah, it doesn't focus entirely on romance, but it's main focus is on a romance, so yay? It's really good. Set in the 1920s. Beautiful description, lovely scenes, but there are a lot of lost souls. Still, worth reading, if only for Nick and Gatsby.

No More Dead Dogs, by Gordon Korman

Well... it's not a real romance, I suppose, since it also deals with high school drama and all that, but! There is some coupling going on. It's hilarious and it definitely has quirky romance. With a fast pace and scenes that can make you cry because you'll laugh so hard, you can't go wrong with this one! You should check it out.

Arms and the Man, by George Bernard Shaw

Oh my... I love this book. It's a play, so it took me a while to get into it, but the characters are definitely screwy. You have the Chocolate Cream soldier and Raina. After getting beaten by the opposing army, a soldier sneaks into a house and finds himself in the bedchambers of the leading general's daughter. Hilarity ensues.

I'll give you more when I get back to my bookshelves back home... and I like quirky literature that doesn't necessarily focus on romance, but definitely has romantic elements. So it's not "I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU TOO!" romance, but that doesn't make it bad.

umm can't really think of anyhtign else fof the top of my head...

I recommend JANE AUSTEN. In my opinion, her best books are Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion.

I also recommend Jane Eyre. If you like Tragedy, I recommend Tess of D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy.

However if you're not a classics person, I recommend Meg Cabot, Sophie Kinsella and Nora Roberts.

Oh and this one's pretty good: Sam's Letters for Jennifer by James Patterson.

Nicholas Sparks has good story plots as well though the way he writes isn't that great. The plots are lovely though, I guess that's why they make such good movies. He wrote A Walk to Remember.

Read Love Is Hell. It's a group of short stories that feature a bunch of authors. This way you will get to read five great stories and discover five new authors. Hahaha it's like a coupon. Buy five get five free! lol.

The Girlfriend Project by Robin Friedman
It's written from a guy's point of view and it's one of the better romance novels I've read.
Not too sappy and not too... not-sappy.
It's very good.
