Eriphyle laughed, "I'm sure you're not. I mean, you're a bird." It was the Drow's turn to be surprised. "You know the whole, I'm not fully elf thing? I'm part bird-demon."

You're sure talkitive today Karo noted, swooping a bit lower.

Get out of my head or I'm going to make you crash. Eriphyle said. "Though...er...whatever your name is, some birds are really bitter and annoying and..."

Karo let out a shreik, knowing he probably couldn't tear her apart with so many people around

"See what I mean?" She looked at the Nightraptor, "But I like you, Sin."

**we're taking over the storybook....oh well**
Sin preened his dark feathers, and hopped onto Eriphyle's shoulder. I knew I liked this one for a reason.
Tyra sighed. Traitor.
Tyra felt Sin's amusement, and rolled her eyes, falling into step beside Eriphyle. "What's it like, being an elf? Being Drow gets.... tiring, sometimes. I always wondered what it would be like, to be one of our brothers of light." Tyra smiled slightly, pointing to her dusky grey skin, and Eriphyle's lighter shade. "For I could never go into their lands."
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

**I don't know whether to feel bad or giggle maniacally**

"Uuh..." Eriphyle started, reaching up to stroke Sin's feather but realizing that it might be insulting.

The most intelligent thing you've ever said. Karo smirked.

"Umm, I guess it's like, well...er..." She sighed, knowing it was useless. She'd only lived with the elves for eight years.

"Sounds like you're an expert." The Drow said, throughly amused.

"I'm not the best person to ask. I didn't live with my people...or at least that half of me, for very long. But I guess its really structured. For some reason elves want to maintain that image of being serene. Kind of sucks."

**I'm doing both. Hehehe.**
Sin poked his head in the half elf's face. You can touch, if you like. Just ask first.
"Uh, okay?" Eriphyle reached up to touch Sin's head gently, then exclaimed. "He's so soft!"
Tyra laughed. "Lucky you. If he didn't like you, your hand would be burning." Seeing Eriphyle's confusion, she gently took Sin's wing and spread the feathers, showing the green markings. "That's caused by the acid his kind naturally possess."
"Oh." Eruphyle looked a little shocked, then smiled. "Thanks, Sin. For not burning me, that is."
No problem.
"So the elfen philosophies grate on you too, huh? I can see we'll be better friends then I thought. The name is Tyra, by the way." She added, in case the elf had missed her earlier introduction.

**Tee hee...that sounds like a good idea**

"I fell kinda guilty for saying that though." Eriphyle said, then looked up. Karo was circling above them lazily. "I should introduce you to my bestest friend. That," She pointed up, "is Karo. He's been giving me a lot of commentary."

Hello, Tyra, correct. It is wonderful to finally speak to someone with some intelligence.

"Thanks, Karo. My self-esteem has just reached the moon." Eriphyle said dryly, using both her mouth and mind. "So, Tyra, annoying giant eagle's aside, what's being a Drow like? Are the two races actually that different?"

Orin surveyed the new recruits with hope and sadness. Most of them seemed too green, but more men were always welcome. As second in command he had a lot of responsibilities and one of those was keeping the new men alive. He noticed a group talking and nudged Addy, "What do you make of that. I notice elf blood in all of them, at least in some way."

She looked over and laughed, "Yeah, you thinking what I'm thinking?"

He paused a moment and nodded, "Lets train them personally. They should have loads of potential and elf blood can only help."

Addy laughed one more time as they made there way over to the group. Orin took point while Addy calmed down. Once He reached the group he looked them over carefully. "What do we have here. A Half-Elf, a Drow, and," he paused a moment, "Elf Bird-Demon cross. Most interesting."

The Drow looked at him and frowned, "Who are you?"

"My name is Orin Elsan, 2nd in command of Chandra, nice to meet you." The Drow seemed surprised and stepped back, but kept her look. Orin smiled, "I see great promise in you three. If you're willing I," but Addy gave a cough behind him. Looking back he saw her give him a smile. He sighed before continuing, "We will train you personally." He crossed his arms and waited for an answer.
I will always fight back, no matter what.

Eriphyle frowned and crossed her arms over her chest. This was either a reallly good thing or a really bad thing. She blinked.

Don't say anything stupid, Eri. Karo warned.

"How the heck did you know about my heritage?" She demanded, decided that if he was going to train her, he had to get used to her. That could take a while, but still.

Why do you NEVER listen to me? Karo demanded.

Tyra sized the newcomer up. She felt a wieght on her shoulder as Sin transferred back to his ally. What do you think, Sin?
What do we have to lose?
The man, who Tyra assumed to be one of the trainers, looked at Eriphyle in slight shock. "I... can tell these things."
Eriphyle frowned, obviously not impressed. Tyra broke in before things could get ugly. "Who are you? And why are you singling us out? And why would we want to train with you?"
Tell Eri that I will explain what we drow are about later.
Sin relayed the information, and Tyra saw Eriphyle nod slightly in response.

"What she said." Eriphyle said, staring him down. Not really caring that he was 2nd in command of anything. She was a bird demon, just like her dad, and rank didn't matter in the world of birds. Only strength and flight and territory really mattered. Except for the really smart ones, like Sin.

The birds around her notices her agitation and flew off, thought the birds of prey circled with Karo, telling her that they trust her to lead them. That they would put aside her differences and fight together. Scavengers started to come. Hungry.

I'm not fighting today...but...thanks. She told the birds, and they flew off in different directions. They're so territorial.

"Sorry about that, now answer the smart Drow's question." I hope she doesn't get mad about that.

That's why you THINK before you speak. Not the other way around.

"Come on Mr Wink it's not far now" i called back to the hulking troll dragging my trailer up the hill.
"How you know?" he asked before breaking wind killing a bird in mid-flight.
"I know because they stink"
"What they no wash?"
"No" i smirked " all the different blood races down their smell so strong to me"
"Oh" Mr Wink replied "I hears screechy bird women" he said dropping the trailer and hefting his spiked mace. "Oh not harpies again" i muttered before drawing my sword. A few momentsa later three of them swooped from the sky. One of them headed straight for Mr Wink and he promptly smashed her from the sky with one blow. "Where's our pet?" one of them murmered.
"I told you i refuse to make such an abomination."
"The Empress won't like that"
"Well the Empress can bite my cold dead ..." was all i got out before the third harpie grabeed me and hoisted me into the air. "Oh for good ness sake" I twisted and drove my sword into her ribs. Oh dear, was all i thought before i dropped to the ground to be caught by Mr Wink. And then their was one, i thought watching the last harpie wing away into the distance. "Come on Wink time to run" i said and with that we took off heading for the stench of hundreds of multi racial warriors.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

"What was that?" Tyra asked, having the same wince Eriphyle had on her face. She racked her brain for information on that sound and when she found it she grabbed her bow.

"Harpies. Stupid bird-imitators." Eriphyle said, serching the area for the things. Everyone had tensed. We heard things (who knew if they were actually people or not) coming towards us.

Two figures stepped into view.

"I suggest to stop right there." The 2nd in command said, not really suggesting anything but ordering it..

Tyra narrowed her eyes, slowly drawing her daggers; tiny droplets of acid dripping to the ground with a hiss.
The newcomers stopped, staring at the group. A bloody troll thought Tyra, wrinkling her nose.
The second in command stepped forward. "Who are you, why are you here?"
The smaller, non-troll one replied. "We were attacked by harpies. We came to the nearest people we could find."
What do you think, Sin?
Be wary. These have no oath to our cause, not yet.
But I took no oath, either...
Then the others should be wary of you, but that's their lookout.
Maybe. Tyra glanced at Eriphyle. But she's not bad, for an elf. I doubt much harm will come to her.

Eriphyle lowered her bow a small bit, showing she wasn't actually going to shoot him...for now. She stayed ready.

Eri, don't say a word. You need diplomacy right now. Karo warned. She could feel the tensity in him.

Whatever Eriphyle sighed outloud. She looked at the troll and felt a little sick. They had to be the opposite of birds; even fish were more bird-like then them.
