Camp Puissance

No one said anything.
"Okay then." said Brad.
"We all can't go cause that'll slow us down, how bout we get 3 people to come with me, and the rest stay here. We'll come back with the car." he said.
"Ok i'm one person." I said.
"Ok anymore?" asked Brad.
"Me." said Paul.
"Okay one more." said Brad.
"Me?" asked Lily.
"Ok." said Brad smiling, we'll go early next morning.

BRAD

The rest of the day was uneventful, a group lead by Lily went to forge for food again, there was a some fresh treatment after that night fell. All of them ate in silence and then they heard him.
"hey guys whats for dinner, oh berries my favorite can someone pass me a leaf."
There sitting down between Brad and Anette was Ballow, Brad could tell Anette was carded cause he and the others were to. Brad spoke first, "Ballow i thought you left"
"yeah but that was just to go for a hike, this terrain is amazing you know tons of delicious birds to, did you know that blue jay tastes just like a burger." Ballow said with a smile way to big.
"you ate a bird" lily said horrified
"yeah, well i was hungry and it was that or nothing"
"Ballow, can we speak in private for a moment"
"sure old buddy, but can i just eat first"
"no i need to talk now"
"fine"
Ballow got up following Brad into the woods.
"man we need to talk about you being here"
"yeah i know, Annette really needs to calm down"
"man, Annette's not the problem, you are you almost killed her twice"
'yeah but i saved here to"
"yeah but you did more damage then good"
"well maybe she should be thankful that she is alive thanks to me"
"no you should apologize to her, i mean how would you feel if someone took you when you were hurt and then just beat you up and then after all you do is ask them to leave you alone and then do it again"
"i don't see your point"
"you know what never mind, if you want to be in this group you can't do anything like that again and if you can't do that then just leave cause we don't want someone like that here" And with that Brad walked away leaving Ballow alone in the woods.

My fear cam true. Ballow came back. He didn't really leave. When Brad got back I looked at him scared, I tried to see over him, looking for Ballow.
Brad looked at me.
"W-wh." I tried to say, but I was just way to scared.

Ballow


Ballow had no diea what everyone was talking about, he would've been grateful to anyone who saved him. But now he was a changed person and so walking towards Annette with a smile on his face he fell to his knees and bowed, "I apologise for being so rude. I had no idea, that I was being rude."

She leaned away from him, still scared and he pouted at her, "I was joking when I said I ate that bird. I only ate an abandoned egg, which was half cracked. I fried it on a sun-heated rock. I'm not as bad as you think I am, you know?"

He got up dusted his pants and turned away from her, he said so quietly that she could've imagined it, but she knew she hadn't, "I'm just different."

Then he trudged away. Annette closed her eyes for a second. And when she opened them he was gone, he had activated his slow-time. In the distance after a second or so she saw him sitting by himself on a rock. There was a frown on his face.

Then he disappeared again.

"Ballow?" I called out.
"Ballow?" I said again.
I couldn't see him, but I knew he was somewhere around here.
"Look. I-I'm sorry. Maybe we can be friends." I said in a shaky voice.

Anette

"Ballow?" I asked again.
"Did you hear me?" I said.
"Maybe we can still be friends." I said.
"Just as long as you don't act weird." I said laughing.
"And Ballow?" I said in a soft voice.
"It's ok to be different."

Ballow


Ballow appeared again with a semi-smile, semi-sad look, "Thanks, that means a lot to me."

Annette smiled, "Yeah, well just don't go attacking me again. That hurt."

Ballow looked at the ground his face eerily pained, "I'm sorry. I - I have no sense of right or wrong. It's that . . . that's the way I am."

Annette wasn't sure to react. How do you react to someone like that? Instead she just smiled, "Well, me and the rest of us will have to rememedy that for you, huh?"

He smiled sadly, "I'd liked to see you try. My parents did, when they realised what I was like. Look where I am now. Being hunted with hurt people."

Annette frowned, "Well, I'll admit its not all peaches here, but at least try to help. OKay?"

Ballow smiled getting at least half of his usual cheer into his grin, "Okay."

Annette wondered if that half smile was the only thing he coudl muster now.

"So..." I asked.
"Are you hurt right now?" I asked.
"You did get attacked by quiet a few of us." I said laughing.

Ballow

Ballow smiled. "I got a few pretty scars, like the one Brad gave me. It's actually very artistic."

Annette couldn't help, but giggle and Ballow's grin widned a small bit. He glanced at her, "Are you okay?"

"Ahh, yeah well, you did rough me up a bit." she reminded him with a sharp tongue.

Ballow's smile fell again, "Yeah, well . . . You know I didn't see anything wrong with it, so I couldn't have known you would think it was wrong."

Annette instantly felt bad for say what she had, "I know. You did it because, what? You were testing my mettle?"

His smile lit up again, "Exactly. I was trying to see if you would survive being my friend. You see not many do . . ." His smile faded away with that last sentence.

Annette was shocked, [i]He's killed them all?[/i[, instead she replied, "Oh, so they didn't survive?"

Ballow shook his head sadly, "Mum and Dad always got rid of them so I wouldn't hurt them. It was kind of like a safety policy."

Annette was horrified, what kind of a sad life had Ballow led?

"Ballow...i'll help you become a better person, if your willing to cooperate." I said.
