Camp Winnataska

Camp Wintaska has offered a wide variety of quality programs for boys and girls for over 90 years. Each camp session will provide campers the opportunity to experience aspects of outdoor life such as swimming, canoeing, arts, crafts, nature study, sports, archery, ropes course, hiking, camping, and horseback riding! Camp Winnataska is an eight week summer camp that's open to anyone between the ages of fifteen and seventeen! Camp Winnataska has over 1,400 acres of fun-filled outdoor adventure. Beautiful Kelly Creek meanders through the camp property and spills into 24-acre Grace Lake. This unique outdoor setting provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for boys and girls. Come experience the wealth of activities that make resident camping at Camp Winnataska so special!

Or at least, that's what the letter for your mom and dad said in the mail the month before school ended. Now your parents are sending you to Camp Winnataska! This summer can be absolutely amazing or a complete disaster! It's your dicision to make!

-We are all family, so treat each other as family

Personallity: Likes to be alone so she can write, draw, etc. She's extremely sarcastic and can be a bitch when it comes to fights. She's a huge tomboy when it comes to getting outdoors. (As long as she's away from her brother)

She's got a few 'self-inflicted' cuts on her wrist, arms, and legs from when she was in middle school. She loves nature and horses, but keeps those passions a secret. She was always the tomboy on the block, until her brother started being a jerk in middle school. Her brother's always being a jerk to her and sometimes she has to kick him with her combat boots. She's still a huge tomboy but still has that 'emo' look to her from seventh, eigth, and ninth grade.

History: Was a happy kid until everyone started to dislike her for someone odd reason. She started to get depressed and her mother became a duggie and her dad became a drunkie ever since her older brother died. She stays in the basement of the house where it is her own home. She tries to take care of them. She recently started thinking about cutting herself.

Likes: Martial arts, music (guitar and low flute especially), nature in genral, time to herself. She likes athletic activities (but her PASSION is music)

Dislikes: people who think they're better than everyone, being pressured into things, any girly things at all, people messing with her friends

Personality:

she isn't shy but she is usually really caught up in what she's doing so it seems like she shys away from people. She actually has a temper when talking about certain subjects but is normally calm and collected. Ayanna likes to be around people and doesn't like judging people right away. She can seem...distant...at some times, but it's just because she likes to think a lot.

History:

Ayanna grew up with martial arts. Her mother and father own a martial arts dojo and she started learning herself when she was about 7. She met her best friend, who's been like a brother to her since she was 8, there and they learned together (Griffin).

As expected, she learned quickly and is now a fifth degree black belt.

Her parents are expecting her, her only child, to inherit the dojo but she doesnt' want to teach judo. Her real passion is in music, singing and playing, but she doesn't want to let her parents down so she's just going with the flow. Griffin encouraged her to tell her parents, but it didn't work out too well and they had a fight. Ayanna decided to come to camp to cool off and think a bit.

History:

He met Ayanna in the dojo (see above) because his parents forced him into a hobby. His dad died a two years later and he and his mom were left alone. She married a man later and he ended up being a deadbeat and he hit him and his mother. Griffin didn't defend himself because he knew it would only get worse.

After a few years of this, (when he was 13), he finally told Ayanna and she went to his house and ended up nearly beating the crap out of his step father. Griffin's mom divorced him after getting a lecture from Ayanna and her mother. The man didn't like this and is now stalking his mother. (scary)

While he's at camp, his mother is at her brother's house.

Why they're at camp Winnataska:Because her parents wanted to get rid of her so that they could go to Hawaii together.

Likes:Horses and anything to do with them, lattes, chocolate (dark), music (she plays the oboe and has loyally brought it with her), her ipod, sports, her brother, and the outdoors. (She's said she can't bring her swiss army knife

Dislikes: Snakes, pickles, eggs, and currently Hawaii.

Personality:Very energetic. She possesses about as much energy as the Energizer Bunny himself. And that's without a latte. She runs cross-country and plays field hockey. So naturally she has really good endurance skills. She talks a lot too, but what she says has meaning. She can be very frank about things. Like if you ask her if she thinks your dress makes you look fat, she'll give you the honest answer. (not what she thinks you want to hear.)

History: She has always been independent and had drifted away a bit from her parents and her twin brother and other brother who is 18. She was also very upset when her family won a sweepstakes to hawaii and it was only for those 18 and up. Now she's being sent to this random camp her parents found. She is happy that there are horses. She lives on a ranch with her family and so she's been riding since she was very little. School in summer camp?

He hasn't had the heart to tell his parents, knowing it would disappoint them, but they allow him his indulgences, such as this camp.

"Mom! If this is a music camp why is Shaant going and why do I need my bathing suit and outdoor clothes?!" Cassidy asked her mother as her parents hurried her and her older brother inside the airport. Her mother's dark blue gaze turned on her sweetly.

"Your brother's sports camp is right up the road and... um... you're not going to be huddled up inside all day! The camp director said you are all going to go hiking and swimming and all that stuff," Cassidy turned her face into one of disgust. Her brother's camp? Right up the road?!

"Great... I get to spend all eight weeks knowing that my sister is right up the road. Yay." Shannt rolled his eyes sarcastically. Cassidy smacked him in the back of the head, her ring letting off a satisfying thump against his skull. She dodged his headlock and ran around to her father, who glared at Shaant, grabbing the back of his neck in a steel grip.

They had lied. Cassidy's parents had lied! Nothing about Camp Winnataska had to do with music. Cassidy gaped, her twin black suitcased in her hands. Shaant let out a loud laugh, holding his stomach. Angered slightly, Cassidy slammed her hand into the back of his head, stomping off to the man that seemed to be calling out names. "Cassidy and Shaant Hunter?"

"Here," they both said, only to glare at each other soon after.

"Ah, okay. Here are your schedule that your parents set up. Cassidy you're in Cabin three, Shaant you're in Cabin fourteen," the man walked off, calling out more names.

"What's your six programs?" Shaant cocked a questioning eyebrow.

"In order they're horseback riding, hiking, nature study, crafts, canoes, and swimming. You?" Shaant's face seemed to pale. "What?!"

"I-I have the same thing..." he sighed. Cassidy gaped at him, widened eyes soon flashing with anger.

"Could this day get any worse?!"
