Layton smiled lightly and thought for a moment. "It'd either have to not saying goodbye to my granfather, or ever meeting my ex." Layton's thoat constricted tightly and she took a deep breath, calming down ever so slightly. "So, what's your question?"

Shaun noticed the pain and anger flick through her as she said 'ex'. He must've done something to her that wasn't good.

"Why did you move here?" He asked. "I know I won't be able to answer that cause I never moved away, but why did you move here in the first place?"

"To find my grandfather's property. He left it to me. My family is supposed to come move into the house with me later. I was hoping that when I found his land I would be able to move on it so I can still live on my own. My parents weren't to happy about me coming out here, so they decided to come too." She shrugged.

"Family should stay close to each other." He smiled. "Long as you get along with them. But I would suggest moving on the reservation. Your turn."

Layton laughed and thought for a moment. "Hmm... Where in the world would you most like to visit?" She smiled lightly.

**A sad excuse for a one liner but i'm sort of braindead right now*

"No where. I've been everywhere." HE smiled. "I got mad at everyone and took off with Mirry for a year." He laughed at the memory.

"What?"

"Ranger was going to kill me when I got back." He grinned. "My parents understood, but Ranger, boy did he throw a fit! IT was great to watch. Especially when he didn't dare get to close to me knowing I'd shift and kill him." He grinned. "How about you?"

"Probably Germany. I want to see all the old castles there. That'd be so cool!" Layton just sighed, feeling stupid. "I just realized that I could easily get to Germany without spending craploads of money on a flight. I could totally whale it across the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean and run the rest of the way there. But, it'd be a long travel."

Chevy laughed and just shook his head, looking as though he was in thought. "Oh! What is one thing you would love to learn more about?" He smiled widely.

Layton blushed lightly, rubbing her feet together. "Uhm... it'd have to be between shifting and you," she'd said the last part extremely softly, hoping his hadn't heard her. "W-what about you?"

"What do you want to know about me?" He asked looking at her. "Same for shifting, what do you want to know?"

"What's imprinting?" She asked. He blinked and then shrugged.

"Didn't lLeal tell you about that?" He asked.

"You were listening?" She demande.d

"No you told me she talked to youa bout it all." He replid iwth a laugh.

"Ok, can you imprint on someone you can't remember, like all you know about them is you dream about them?" She asked.

"I guess. I dont' know to much about imprinting. Just that that person takes over your entire life." He smiled. "What do you want to know about me?"

"Have you ever imprinted?" She asked. He chuckled.

"You only imprint once." He replied.

"Have you?" She asked.

"Ya. Your turn to ask a question." He smiled.

"Who did you imprint on?" She asked looking at him with a serious expression.

"A girl I barely knew." He replied with a smile.

Layton's small smile faltered slightly. So he'd already imprinted, and to make matters worse on a girl he hardly knew. She could slightly hear Naji laughing mentally and she sent him an angry thought. Layton didn't feel like talking about imprinting anymore but she still had to answer her half of the question. "Eh, I don't know who I really imprinted on truthfully." Everything on Layton's face was trying to tell him she wanted to stop talking about it.

"Um... okay. When the last time you were really, really angry?" Layton smiled thankfully and thought for a moment.

"When I was fifteen." Layton frowned slightly. "And you?"

"Back at your grandfather's place." He smiled.

"Why?" She asked a confused look on her face

"I didn't want him hurting you." He replied smiling at her. "I had to make sure you were ok."

"It's your turn.:" HE smiled.

Layton cocked her head to the side quizically. "I know I won't be able to answer it but why did you have to protect me? And don't just say I'm your friend or that you don't like seeing people get hurt either! I mean, you do live on the reservation. Wouldn't you choose your people over some girl who just moved in?" Layton glanced up at the sky, looking directly at the moon. Judging by how high it was in the sky it was probably eight or nine. Ugh... Naji would be bothering her in an hour to make him something to eat. She looked at Chevy quickly as he started to talk.

Chevy took a deep breath and tried to think of something. "I don't know. For some reason I didn't have a choice." He shrugged. "It's like my shifter wants to protect you. or somthing."

"But why, shouldn't you?" She asked.

"Maybe it likes you." He smiled. "I don't know, it's getting late though and you should probably get home."He shifted to a mountian lion and sat down.

Let's get going. He said in her head.

Layton felt slightly disappointed but changed into a mountain lion anyway, purring lightly and grabbing Chevy's shirt in her jaws. She nodded once at Chevy before taking off towards her apartments, Naji laughing at her the entire way home.

Leal had let them in with a loud laugh, trying to stiffle it but failing horribly. Layton handed her Chevy's shirt and stuck her tongue out at the girl before padding into her room and shifting. She pulled on a pair of red, grey, and white plaid pajama pants and a grey tank top, slipping into a pair of wool socks and grabbing a pair of her brothers pants. She threw them at Leal, who gave them to Chevy, who, in turn, walked into the bathroom.

Chevy got dressed and then came back out. The pants were kinda tight on him, but he wasn't going to complain.

"So, did you two have fun?" Leal asked.

"Nothing much happened. Ranger got mad, but other then that, not much happened." HE smiled.

"Ranger? Where were y'all?" She asked.

"At her Granddad's place. The old Cabin."

"THat's her grandpa's cabin?" Leal asked surprised. He nodded. "That's awesome."

"You'll be here when?!" Layton yelled into her black house phone, eyes wide. It had been a week since her first day in this small town. Things between Ranger, Leal and Chevy seemed to have cleared up a bit because Leal and Chevy where always over, kind of like it was this day.

"We're flying in on Sunday on your step-fathers jet! All our stuff is coming Sunday night. Didn't I tell you that?" Layton's mother giggled like the old woman she was.

"But Mom! Tomorrow's Sunday and... I haven't even moved into Grandfather's cabin yet..." Layton said the last part softly, hoping her mother would hardly catch her words.

"Layton Paige Charlene Riley!" Layton winced at her full name, knowing her mom never used it unless she was angry. "You'd better set up an appointment with the reservation leader do I can talk to him and ask him if we can move in!" With that said Mrs. Riley hung up the phone, leaving Layton to sigh and slip the phone onto the receiver. She plopped down on the couch in between Leal and Chevy, burrying her head into her hands and letting a loud groan escape her lips.

Chevy pulled Layton close and laughed. "I hope she reliezes she can't move onto the reservation. Only you can."

"You heard her?" Layton asked. He nodded.

"She was yelling." He laughed.

"So why can't they, but I can?" She asked.

"Your parents can't shift. The land was left to you. We only accept others onto the reservation if they are Navajo, can shift, or are adopted into the Navajo nation like Leal." He replied.

Layton frowned and stuck her tongue out in disgust. "They'll move in here and send my brother to live with me. I ha- no... I dislike my brother greatly. I can't really say I hate him 'cause he's always there for me." Layton turned her entire body about to where her torso was hanging half-way off the couch and her feet were on the back of the couch. "Agh... and to make matters worse Tanner's coming with them." Layton groaned, her hands finding their place on her face once again.

"Tanner?" Chevy and Leal both cocked their heads to the side.

"Eh, he's a friend from New York. He's a shifter like us and a pretty cool guy, other than the fact that he can be sort of a perve with a slight cocky attitude." Layton laughed.

"Ugh... I hate guys like that." Leal rolled her eyes, distaste showing on her face.

"He's only like that sometimes. All the other times he's an awesome guy."
