Angel

I stared at a girl, I knew what she was, she had it tattooed all over her, I didn't glare but I did't smile. I looked directly at her, not smiling, not glaring. Then I got up and started to leave....

Kyle-

"How many times do I have to tell you, just Kyle." I really hate being called Izzekiel. It wasn't even my real name from when I was human anyways, not that I could remember my real name, even if I wanted to.

I ignored his question and turned knowing he would follow. The poor guy didn't really know exactly what to do. Not many demons trusted Ballow. He was too easily persuaded. I had more power than most of the demons in that pub combined. They were mostly newbies anyways.

"You didn't answer my question," Ballow said following me out onto the New York street. It was early morning.

"I know." I answered not turning to look at him. I walked the familiar path to my studio in the center of the city. It was an easy way to keep watch. I lead a very normal human life. I have a job as a bartender in one of the richest and most high class night clubs in the city, a studio which serves as a house, human friends who have no idea what I am, and a dog. The dog doesn't hang around much at the studio when I'm around. But whenever I get back the food from his dish is always gone.

I don't have a problem with humans, I find them intriguing, and considering I used to be one sways my vote a little. Most demons despise them but they seem alright enough. Plus it is much easier to do my job if I can mingle well with the living. I am the keeper of the city, the watcher. I make sure that all the laws or our underworld are obeyed. I also take care of any messes that may be made and keep the peace. It was only natural that Ballow was sent to me. By who or what I don't know though.

He followed me home and plopped down on the couch while I headed to the kitchen. I wasn't hungry but a drink sounded good.
All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you something great will come of it.

*October Girl -- I'm guessing that's a reply to mine, right?*

Maeve broke the spell, it didn't really matter that the humans stared at her now, she didn't care. She walked over to the only other non-human. "Hey angel," she said, not friendly, not hostile.

She studied the angel's face and noticed all the piercings. "It looks like someone attacked your face with a hole punch." This was said without any voice inflection, like she could have been commenting about the cloudy weather.

I was still walking down the same street just a few blocks on when I noticed my old friend Cypher perched on the roof of a building across the street from me. And by "old friend" I meant endurable comarde and by "building" I meant a two storey dump of a chinese take-away. I headed over to see him regardless - any other-worldly company was good company during this time of boredom.

Cypher

"Hey Darius" i called over as i saw him approach " Seen any angels lately? I'm getting bored and you know what happens when i get bored. People die. Lots of people."

Darius scaled the dump of a chinese i had chose to perch. After eating the owners daughter the least i could was sit and listen to him suffer.

"hey you like the music?" i asked
"What is it?" Darius asked
"Lonely old chinese man who's only daughter got mysteriously eaten"

I sighed and shook my head.
"God, I thought blowing up cars was the most fun you could have here. You've really out-done yourself" I chuckled.
I suddenly gave out an ear-piercing scream which broke every piece of glass in the restaurant, but only the glass in the restaurant. I was mildly pleased with that as a starting move, but was more amazed by what happened next. Obviously now convinced his little restaurant was haunted or cursed the poor Chinese man ran screaming out the front door and into the street. Where he was run over.

Well not exactly run over, but later today the owner of that Ford would refuse to tip the poor boy who worked in the garage which removed the dent from the front of his car and this would result in the owner being grossly over-charged for the procedure. I may have been only mildly impressed by the window shatter, but if I knew just how much misery that one small action would cause I'm sure I would have been a lot prouder of myself.

"Thanks, ruin my fun why don't you" Cypher sulked at me before spreading his black wings and soaring up to the top of the much higher neighbouring building.
"For fu....Come back here Cypher!" I called after him as I soared after him.

I twirled in my school uniform as I walked down the street humming "Black Birds" to myself. It was all part of my facade, and I preferred it this way. Being young was wonderful, but in reality I was 178 years old. NYC was full of places where I could help and my experience really helped. I was lonely sometimes, but most of the time I was busy with someone else. I couldn't be held back by others.

I looked up in the sky and frowned at what I saw. Demons. They shouldn't even exist, but of course I didn't really believe I should either. 'I could fly after them...' I thought. But then I would get caught. I looked up even higher and figured no-one could see them past the skyscrapers. I continued on my way trying to think of happy thoughts instead of the menace that filled the skies.

Angel

I turned to glare at her and then proceeded walking. "What do you want Maeve?" I asked.

"You came to me." She said following.

"That's because your kind of exposing us all." I growled. It's not like me and her were friends, but it's not like we hated each other.

Daniel

I stood and looked down at the cars passing by as I stood on the building.

*You mean like push him off the building? I can, but knowing my character she would dive right after him. Plus, she's on the ground, but I can if you want.*

Maeve (Sorry it's so short, I didn't want to speak for Angel.)

She kept up the pace, not letting Angel slip ahead.

**Oh, lol. Now I feel stupid. :D**

"Are you thinking about jumping?", I asked from behind him. A smile pulled at the corner of my lips, but I had to remind myself that this was serious.

"Uh-uh no.", the man whirled around and backed away from the ledge. I couldn't help myself when I burst out laughing. His face was just so amusing.

"What's your name?"

"My name is Daniel."

"My name is Gemma.", I stepped toward him and looked over the ledge. There were many cars passing beneath us, but they looked so small. Taxis filled the streets and zoomed by other cars while the sound of car horns blaire throughout the city.

"You didn't happen to see anything, did you? Over the ledge, or perhaps in the sky?", I looked around, but saw nothing. I looked over to the man.

Ah it felt so good to soar over these foolish humans. It gave me a breif break to remember how good it felt to look down on all of creation. As i soared higher i spotted a man stood on the edge of a building and darius chasing close behind. "Hey" i shouted back to him "That might be worth watching" i laughed and pointed at the man stood at the edge. before swooping a few more storeys to perch statuesque on a skyscraper and turned to watch the man.

Steven McFarland

He looked up for a moment to see a man soaring high above him, black wings propelling him upwards to perch on a skyscraper, nearly out of Steven's sight. A second followed him up to the skyscraper, and they looked to Steven as though they were watching something far below them.

Damn...and here I was thinking this place wasn't being bothered by demons at the moment. Not for the first time, he wished he hadn't failed so catastrophically. Wings would have been very useful to him, with the demons otherwise unreachable.

Instead, he was forced to simply shove his hands into his pockets and start walking towards the skyscraper, hoping the demons were just watching this time.

Chase Marsh

Stepping tentatively around a workman's ladder, Chase continued on his way down the street. He felt that it was probably best that he didn't draw any kind of unwanted attention to himself.

Angel **It's ok, you can go ahead and talk for her.**

"Funny." I rolled my eyes, "you should have a been a comiden. Perhaps in another life." I said patting her head.

She growled. Then she looked me up and down with her eyes.

"Yeah, I like my clothes too." I said glaring at her.

"You might as well have worn plastic wrap." She said.

"And YOU might as well draw that frown on to save your face the trouble." I smiled and sat at a near by booth, after all, it kind of felt like a bar.

Daniel

I looked at Gemma ((please tell me I spelled that right))

"I don't remember what just happened to me." I said. "How did I end up on this rooftop? I don't remember what happened last night. And I would remember if I had met a beautiful girl like you." I said looking around.
