~Devi~

"Devi. Devi is my name. WHy would you want to know anyway? Your just going to entertain me, nothing more," she said giggling while she finished the sentence. Zander had an un-easiness about him after she had said that, but was also afraid of backing out. Devi came to the end of a hallway at a secured room. She made Zander turn around and placed her fingernail into the lock making the door creak open. Devi yanked Zander into the room and pulled him to her kissing his lips, her hands on his chest.

Ankou:

He turned to Louis. "Ah, let the two love birds be. Altrusck won't be back anytime soon. Although he wants what is behind the gate." The ankou smiled warmly, "And as for your question my spirit friend. No, you lead the dead to the afterlife. I keep the dead in the afterlife, or guard their graves."

Louis looked at him "Isn't that a tad bit boring?"

"Yes, very."
Louis nodded.

"Apollo. I think I need to cure you," The ankou jumped off his steed.

He walked to Apollo, and lifted one of his dead hands. There was a flash, and a crack. "There, all good."

Apollo was cured.

Altstruck:

He was flying where Ballow was. He landed close to a tavern. He changed form. He was now in human form.

He walked to the tavern. He saw Ballow whit Yamari. He walked to them.

He nodded at the guardian's answer, Well, I suppose he's right. But I would say he's still similar to some Ghede. Namely, the Barons.

A cracking noise reached his ears, a flash lighting up the clearing for a brief instant as the Ankou healed Apollo. He raised an eyebrow - this spirit was indeed close to the Barons, maybe even as powerful as Samedi. A good ally to have.

"That gate you mentioned," Louis said casually, "What lies beyond it that Alstruck wants? The afterlife? A wellspring of souls?" He needed to know, because if it was the afterlife Altrusck wanted to access, Louis would need to warn his relatives. After all, whether the Guardian knew it or not, whether the demon knew it or not, there were other ways than that 'gate' of accessing the afterlife. Louis would need to stay on his guard, he probably wouldn't be able to defeat the demon without some significant help, and if Altrusk found out what he was, he would be in serious trouble.

Jacob Lambert

His eyes went a little wide at the guardian's almost flippant healing of Apollo. This, and the show of force he'd seen earlier in his brief confrontation with Altrusk, was incredibly alarming. How could so much power exist in one forest?

He looked away from the two spirits, one arm still around Apollo's shoulders. She still seemed shaken from the sudden healing, he assumed such a rapid change in health would do that to a person. "You're sure you're okay?"

Ankou:

"The gate." He said. "The gate is not the gateway to the afterlife..."

"What then?" Louis asked.

"It is the gateway to the hidden powers that have been long gone from the face of the world. The balance, divine power, dark power. The afterlife is similar. There are many powers that are similar. They all have differences non the less."

"What is the difference between this and afterlife?"

"The one who controls afterlife, controls death. The one who controls the rainbow tree controls the elements. The one who controls the staff of ideology rules over mind, and so on. But the one who controls the power behind the gate controls the power of the balance. Balance between dark and light, and everything in between."

Apollo

"yeah, I feel great actually" She smiled as she held him tighter and buried her head into his chest.

He held her closer and played with her hair. Jacob could feel the power of the healing on his chest. It was warm.

She let go of him and sat on the green grass and started making daisy chains. She looked like an angel with her yellow glow. Some my have mistaken it for an halo but you couldn't be silly anough to think that.

Jacob sat down beside her and watched her at work, she was very fast and the flowers seemed to glow.

~Lucky~

Lucky fell from the trees leaping with every step. He laughed at every little sound. To Lucky, he had no need to fear anything. He was to meet Rue at the edge of the woods. Lucky routine for his walk was run, leap, laugh, hop, giggle, flip, jog, walk, run, leap, laugh, etc.. He became faster with every step. I don't know why because he would have to wait another two days to see Rue from fifteen miles away and she would probably stop again for rest. He assumed three days. And so he waited.

~Lyric~
Lyric swam carefully as she entered the dark waters. She watched for other mermaids and water nymphs. In the Dark Fountane waters the other water creatures are very dangerous. They can kill you with one look. Lyri knew not to look any of them in the eyes. It was very dangerous. She swam faster until she reached the shore. Lyric clawed herself onto the sandy beach. She layed herself down as she looked out to the black pool of water. It was closed off by many dead trees. No sun ever shined in Dark Fountane. Lyric fantasized about what the Dark Kingdom could of been like. She wondered if a sun ever shined in it. Lyric's eyes eased shut as she daydreamed about what happend one- hundred years ago.

~Passion~
Passion's training was over.

"Henry, have you ever seen the Forbidden Forest Protector?" she questioned. Henry shook his head side-to-side.

"Will you go with me to see if we can find her?" Passion asked.

"I dunno...Gloran said that she was pretty hardcore," Henry replied. Passion went quiet.

"But I can. It would be interesting. I have heard that she is absolutely beautiful. It wouldn't kill me to see a beautiful girl," he said smiling.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Passion yelled. They both laughed as they headed into the cover of the trees, the dark part of the forest.

~Rue~

Rue walked faster. She tried to keep her walking at her normal pace. She kept her glance straight soaring through the little village. She was determined to reach Lucky as soon as possible. That meant no pit stops. Rue took a quick glance at the sun which was melting into the sky. It's colors sketched through the world's atmosphere. Rue smiled slightly at this it was beautiful.

I walked out of the room, dizzy. The outside seemed darker, my heart seemed darker. Devi exited the room, dressed exactly as when she had entered it, as if she had done nothing.

"Come" She beckoned, pulling me from my hand and walking gracefully almost as if floating.

I followed as before, though i felt something was wrong, something was dark around me.

She lead me into a chamber, a large chamber dark without lights. It was as if she could see in it, but i could not. To the end i saw small light, small but bright, she touched the light and it started to glow brighter until it eliminated the whole room.

"Now i have something for you" she said sitting on a thrown like chair.

(Good?)

Ballow

Ballow watched as Alstruck walked towards them with a smile. Ballow put a hand up for a hi-five and Alstruck hi-fived him. Ballow smiled - they had been good acquaintances for a while now.

He glanced at Alstruck, "I hear you need some help?"

Alstruck nodded, "Got this huge, old Guardian on my back."

Ballow grinned, but Alstruck wasn't effected because he was also a demon, however Yamari was frozen and rolling his eyes Ballow stopped smiling.

He turned to Alstruck, "So where is this Guardian that's giving you a hard time?"

Alstruck put a hand on Ballow shoulder and relayed it through a mind picture. Ballow closed his eyes for a second then let out a reaprouchful sigh, "Ahh, I see that Guardian, eh?"

Yamari glanced at them, they seemed liked they'd known each other for a while and she felt sortof out of the loop.

Ballow proffered a hand to her shocking her out of her thoughts; she stared at it with a raised eyebrow.

Ballow looked to Alstruck, "Okies, well, teleportation is fastest with a mortal right?"

Alstruck nodded and grinned which Yamari winced away from. Drawing a dagger in the blink of an eye he placed it next to Yamari's arm and gently nicked her arm before she could respond.

He took the blade away and held it above his head. Tilting his face upwards he let a drop of her blood slip into his open mouth. With a relishing look on his face and eh swallowed it down much to Yamari's disgust.

She gently touched the nick in her arm and asked threateningly, "What was that for?"

Ballow sighed and grabbed her arm, "Demon law, I'm afraid, forbids me from telling you everything, however, I will tell you this: To work demon magic upon a human a piece of bodily material must be used. Also known as your blood for this particular spell."

Alstruck took a step towards him and said, "Mind if I join your rift?"

Ballow grinned and Yamari stiffened in his hands, "By all means."

Yamari tried to step away, but the strength of the spell was too strong and she found herself being pulled closer to Ballow.

Looking up at him she asked something as if it just hit her, "Couldn't you have used my hair then?"

He looked down on her, a smile still on his face, "Didn't want to ruin your hair."

Still frozen by his smile Yamari managed to say, "That all?"

Ballow's smile deepened and his eyes closed for a second, "Also, I really didn't want to eat hair, it really isn't one of my favourite things to eat."

His eyes flashed open and they turned a glowing blood red which hypnotized Yamari. Alstruck stood next to them replaying the place they needed to transport to Ballow's mind.

Alstruck caught the teleportation rift just as a blinding light surrounded them.

When the light dimmed down they were already at the gates where the Guardian was guarding.

Jacob Lambert

He watched her working silently, fascinated by the speed the daisy chain was growing at. He seemed a little bemused. Only minutes ago, after all, she'd been attacked by a demon, and now she was sitting next to him, making daisy chains. How could she just forget her troubles so easily?

"What are you doing?" He asked.

She shot him a grin, "What does it look like?"

He shrugged, "I meant why are you doing it?"

Louis Carrefour

The guardian's words were worrying, to say the least. Something that controlled the balance of power in the world? That was a dangerous thing to have in existence, perhaps it merited destruction...

"They have total control over the balance of power in the world, then."

"Yes." The guardian replied, as if it were really that simple.

Not for the first time in his life, Louis was glad that death didn't take sides. Although if the demon was going to try to use control of the balance of power to gain access to the afterlife, this guardian, and no doubt Louis' entire family, would have something to say about it.

He put his hat back on and slung his shovel over his shoulder, raising an eyebrow at the Ankou, "Shouldn't you be guarding your gate, then? Keeping an eye out for Altrusk and all that?"

Ankou:

"Well actually... No." He kept a slight pause "I can multiply my body. Although I have to share the power between them. Right now My other body is keeping watch and this body is up here speaking to you."

"Oh. So this isn't you in your full force?"

"Maybe about 65 percent."

"I see."

The ankou turned at the love birds "I hate to admit it but our spirit friend is partly right. The demons are here. They are under us."

All of the people there turned at im "What!"

"It seems that they teleported below us."

"Shouldn't you go down there.

"Yes but not before they launch their attack."

*ashleylee? Where is she? She hasn't been on in ages and I've been dangling her around with me! I don't even know if I have her in character! Geh, oh well. I think I'll try to keep her in the story for as long as I can . . .*

Ballow

Ballow turned to Alstruck, then to the guard a smile on his face, "You sure know how to pick 'em don't you?"

Yamari was still latched onto Ballow's arm and he eyes were squeezed shut. Ballow smiled at her and tugged at his arm slightly, "You can let go now."

Ballow was actually shocked at the gentleness in which he had said that and so took one step back physically wrenching his arm away from her. She looked at him shocked for a second but her attention went to the more important matter at hand. The Guardian.

She looked to Alstruck seemingly regaining her composure and asked, "How strong?"

He pondered the answer for a second, "As strong as half of me maybe more."

She cast him a suspiscious look, "Then why do you need our help?"

He turned away for a second then turned back, "Okay, I was lying. He is giving me a hard time."

Ballow smiled at Alstruck and his antics - Alstruck was always goign on about his powers, he didn't want to be put down about all the ones he had collected and to Ballow it was a very nice collection.

Ballow sighed and asked, "Yam - do you have any idea if this one has any weaknesses?"

She snapped at him, "Don't call me YAM! Anyway, he's a skeletal guardian isn't he? What works against skeletons? Acid."

Ballow smiled, "Its great to have you on our side for once, huh Alstruck?"

Alstruck nodded absently, thinking of a demonic spell or possibly dragon magic which involved acid.

Yamari pulled something out of her coat, it looked like a bottle, "Will this do?"

The label on the front stated - Stomach acid - Troll demon. Ballow smiled as he lifted it to his nose and took a whiff of it, "Poor old Greg never had a chance around Yam here."

A smile drifted over his face and Yamari found herself freezing again. He continued, "But all in all he did breach the only Demon Law. So I guess he was lucky to be used by you, Yam."

She growled everytime Ballow called her "Yam", but as she was frozen form his smile she couldn't do anything.

He raised it above his head and winced, "This is always the part I hate. Alstruck you'll need to do this too."

Alstruck nodded as Ballow tipped the acid into his mouth and swallowed with a sour face, "GYA! Gross . . ."

He muttered some demonic words and suddenly acid flaming balls appeared floating above his hands. He looked at them amazed, "Wow, this random spell is awesome!"

Yamari looked at him like he was crazy, "You mean that wasn't meant to happen?"

Ballow smiled and she winced away, "Of course not! By all means this could've made my mouth spit out acid saliva . . . thank the King of Hell that I can actually picture what I want."

Suddenly Alstruck spoke up as a thought got him, "One of my dragon forms can use acid fire balls."

Ballow walked over and put a acid fire ball on his head, "Well, hurry up then!"

Alstruck wiped it off and began to change.

Yamari's eyes widened, "Actually you better hurry, they're waiting for us to attack."

Alstruck smiled in his dragon form and turned his large head to Ballow who had acid fire balls floating over his hands. Ballow stated, "Well, best not keep the guest waiting, huh?"

Alstruck growled, "You do have manners after all."

Ballow looked at him slightly offended and threw a sad looking small fire acid ball at him which hit and slid off his scales, "That offended my demonic honour Alstruck! But I'll accept that apologetic look in your eyes as an apology."

With that he walked off in front and Yamari followed clutching the bottle of demon troll stomach acid close to her.

Alstruck followed slowly an amused glint in his eyes, Ballow is definitely one of the rare ones.

Ballow turned his head sharply and smiled at him as if he knew Alstruck was thinking about him . . . and maybe he did.

"It's Candra ." I turned around to come face-to-face with Noel. I'd never seen her, but I have heard of her in Glowingtown. I was leaving my house after an intrusion and I needed some fresh air. I then heard shouting from behind us. Someone was running after us...

"Come on!" Noel grabbed my hand and started running.

I was flummoxed by fractious Franny's decision to abrogate analgesics for the moribund victims of the recent conflagration. Of course, to display histrionics was discretionary, but I did so anyways, implicating a friend in my drama to make the effect cumulative. I think a misanthrope would have a prosaic appellation, perhaps one related to autonomy and the rejection of anthropocentrism. I think they wouldn't think much of the prominence of watching the coagulation of tea to prognosticate future malevolent events, not even if those events were related to jurisprudence.
