Do any of you ever feel rushed when your writing? I think i have a problem, because when i write i feel like if i don't reveal something big people will get bored or I'll forget it. Any tips on how to make my stories longer without revealing too much at one time. Help! Please!!!

Let it come out in a flow, gently and calmly or all at once when it is necessary. Look at the books you read, and see how it is done there. It really depends what kinds of things you're letting out. If you're at the beginning, character background is important but not always necessary, and things will come as they should, but towards the conclusion there will be a lot more.

Sorry my response is vague. ^^, perhaps you could be a bit more specific? What do you mean, "something big"? Are you talking about revealing background information, plot points, plot twists? Because background information would be a narration issue, where as plot points/twists would be a plot issue, which are two completely different topics.

When i said "big things" i meant like plot twists. like things happening to the main character. i have a habit of going straight to the twist and not giving background info. if you read Angels from Ashes and the reviews it has i think it will help explain what i am talking about. Thanx!

Use dialogue, thought processes or foreshadowing. But keep it drawn out, otherwise the reader will toss it aside.

What deaf-writer meant was, try and resist the urge of info-dumping. ;)
The sadness drains through me rather than skating over my skin. It travels through every cell to reach the ground. I filter it yet strangely enough, I keep what was pure and it is the dirt that leaves.

Perhaps if you showed us an excerpt from your story? Then maybe we'll have a clearer understanding where you can improve.

A way not to give very much out at one time is foreshadowing. This is just a hint to whats coming up next and it will keep your reader interested. Also give a few hints in different places. Trying making it so the read will want to try and figure out what going to happen. They will read on to see if they are right and if it is something they totally didn't expect they will still want to read more.
