Edward-

We were all surrounding Maisy.

“You like them better than me,” Audi pouted. Maisy twitched, trying to fight Audi’s powers.

“J-just d-don’t hurt the others. They didn’t d-do anything.”

“Whatever, you’re coming with us,” I growled.

………..

Very short because I don’t know what Kitty wants to do with Maisy.

Maisy

Maisy nodded her assent timidly and took a nervous step toward Audi, Edward and Larella, the latter two of which had just come downstairs. She shuffled further forwards, keeping her eyes at level with Audi's, attempting to give her no reason to lash out.

"That's it, little lamb. Come home where you belong," Audi chided playfully with a smug grin.

"Wait," Jason said. "What if we're willing to fight you?" Maisy looked back in surprise just as Leal kicked his shin and hissed that he should stay quiet.

"There's more of us," Jason continued. "And if Maisy wants to join us, you shouldn't get in her way." Audi put her hands on her hips and threw her head back in laughter.

"She'd not be of any use to you, she'd be too frightened to hurt us, wouldn't you, dear?" Audi fluttered her lashes at Maisy who made no response, standing between the two groups. Antonius pushed his way past the throng of good guys and grabbed Maisy by the arm on his way to join the others. She allowed herself to be pulled meekly.

Don't you dare come back before the job is done, her father had told her. Even if it means going against Nathaniel. Maisy pulled away and skittered back.

"Fine. If it's a fight you want, you've got it," Edward decided. On the good side, Azrael, Sylvia and Drake were pushed back towards the hole in the wall and Jason, Marissa, Kyle and Leal lined themselves up, one opposite each of the bad guys. Maisy stood uncertainly slightly in front of them.

"Who are they in the back? Extra?" I smiled malichiously, eyes darting to the huddled group. "Oh, what fools you mortals be,"

Maisy stood slightly off to the side, but still, she was practically in the middle. Ther best idea was to grab her and take off, but what fun would that be? The room tension wasn't as tight as I planned, leaving space for other things such as... panic?

"Don't blink," I whispered, jumping to the right, hands on Maisy.

Edward had disappeared behind me before I sprang and he was just above the group in the corner. That's when it all really started. My hand flew over Maisy's mouth, the fear pumping though the air. They're making this too easy!

"Hurry up, guys!" I called behind me, first thowing Maisy out of the hole in the wall and then me next. The ground looked much farther down than I had planned. "Better think fast unless you want us to go splat, Maisy!"

Jason:

He laughed, catching Audi's words. "Don't blink?" He asked, a hysterical edge to his voice betrayin the fear Audi was forcing on him. Unfortunately for her, fear was something that triggered a defensiveness in Jason.

“Don’t blink?” He repeated, “Not exactly the best advice, Audi!” He threw himself through the hole in the wall after Audi and Maisy, for a moment paralysed by the fear, and then he managed to gain enough control himself to use his power.

Not enough self-discipline to use it in a controlled manner, though, and a burning white flare of light pulsed out from him as he fell, unable of doing any physical damage, but bright enough to blind anyone around them. Including, if they hadn’t shut their eyes fast enough, his own teammates.

Maisy

For a fleeting moment, Maisy thought of not doing anything at all and letting the both of them go splat into the ground but then she quickly decided against it. However, in that slight moment of hesitation, Jason came pouring out of the window behind them and Maisy found herself blind and panicky.

How far's the ground, how long until we hit? Oh gosh, what's soft enough, what's the best option? Thoughts reeled in Maisy's head and frantically she mustered all of her strength and materialised a large, inflatable pool filled with water. Startled upon hitting the syrface, Audi let go of Maisy and she swam upwards quickly, bumping into someone as she broke into the air.

"Come on!" Jason said, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards the side. "You should have closed your eyes." Maisy nodded meekly, not quite sure how she should have known to close her eyes but used to be punished for her failure to do the impossible.

"What about the others?" she asked cautiously.

"They'll be fine," Jason said. "It's three against three so let's just worry about Audi and hoped she drowned in that... pool. Nice idea by the way."

"Uh... thanks," Maisy mumbled.

Well, isn't that nice? I thought, glancing down at my soggy clothes as I sprang out of the pool and started again.

Of course I was slowed down by the wetness, and of course there was nothing I could do about that, but about them... I looked ahead and caught Maisy and another one of those goodies running--well, stumbling--as fast as they could away.

"Now that's no fair!" I giggled, speeding up.

Jason didn't turn to look back. Instead, it was Maisy who would dare a glance. That was my chance. With what I could muster I pumped my legs even more and as best as I could, locked our gazes.

"I'm sorry..."

Obviously, this was a lie, but it slowed her down. It looked as if shocked was playing against her soft, fragile face. My smirk almost disappeared, watching the lighting filled bolt of remose strike her down, swarm around her body, and sink in.

A stumble may preven a fall, but she didn't do either. She stoppped.

I'm around sort of. Just a little busy. Why don't you go ahead and make a post, Jaden? I'll follow on from there.

Edward-

I saw that Audi, Maisy, and Jason were all gone. Dang it, I was hoping to face my twin. Awe well, that leaves enough goody goodies for me and Antonius.

A fireball flew past the side of my head and singed a little hair. Close, but no cigar. I smirked at Leal before shutting down all the lights. It was easier for me to see in the dark and I sent punches towards her. This was too easy.

**I'm forcing myself into this...*

Jessa-

"That wasn't very nice..." I said, throwing lave in Mr. Not-playing-nice's face. He dodged and looked at me like I was insane. Why must everyone look at me like that.

"Who're--"

"How unoriginal. Why must people always ask that of people who are throwing fire at them. If you must know, I'm the girl who's gonna kick your butt. Its not very gentlemanlike to attack girls in the dark."

Maisy

"Come on, what are you stopping for?" Jason demanded, a low growl emitting from his throat. Maisy recognised that as a warning, as an 'I'm going to leave you to kill yourself if you don't come now,' sort of thing but she couldn't help it. There was something in Audi's voice, just a flicker of emotion that suggested... What? Truth? Coming from her? Pull yourself together, girl!

"You're sorry?" Maisy murmured. Audi had slowed to a walk and approached them a step at a time, her arms up in release, coaxing, crooning.

"None of us meant to harm you, dear. We were just ever so worried when you ran out on us like that." She laughed in an easy but nervous sort of way. Maisy felt... something. Something she couldn't define. It perplexed her. What emotion was this, what had she not felt before? Hope? Love? One of the other fairytale things those literary heroes spoke of?

And then Jason was pulling her away and the trance was broken and all thoughts were pushed aside for later examination as they ran and ran with Audi gaining on them.

"Don't you get it, Maisy? She's playing with you! Seriously, I didn't think you were this naive but for God's sake, keep running because I'm not risking my neck for you." Maisy looked up at him and tried to gauge what he was thinking. But she couldn't. And she couldn't help thinking, But you already did. And that's more than anyone else has ever done for me.

Edward-

I glared at the stranger. At first I thought it was Leal who shot the fire at me, but this was different.

"And who the heck are you? Some Lava Girl?"

"LAVA GIRL?!!!!!!"

I smirked as she then threw more fire and lava at me, me dodging every shot until...

I found myself flat on the ground, my nose aching from being punched by Kyle. That was stupid.

~Jessa~

"Hey!" I yelled, "You with the face." Everyone looked at me. "The guy who just punched the other guy!"

The guy looked surprised, "I was trying to fry that guy!"

"I was just..." He started as my face reddened.

"I need to kill him, now MOVE!"

"Who are you to--"

"Will you shut up if I tell you?" I asked, very loudly, though my eyes didn't leave the other (the one who I needed to kill's) face.

"Mabye."

"I'm Jessa, a Guardian." I finally said, and they looked surprised. That was when to-be-dead-guy made his move. "NO YOU DON'T" I screamed, "NO ONE CALLS ME LAVA-GIRL AND LIVES TO TELL ABOUT IT!" I had a wall of lava stop his exit.

"For a Guardian, you sure like to destroy things."

"SHUDDUP!" I screamed (again). Darn it! He's right! Noah's going to KILL ME

"Is that a cardboard stand up of Jessa?" Noah suddenly asked, cocking his head.

Kathy-

I frowned and tipped the cardboard Jessa over.

"I'm going to kill her," I mumbled before leaving.

I took the plane with Noah and Charcoal and we flew off, Noah somehow knowing where Jessa was, to New York.

We saw the damage and the lava leaking out. Now what was she doing?

Edward-

Huh, this is a step back. The guardian was coming in closer, murder in her eyes. I knew that look for I had seen it in my own reflection many times. This was the first time I had felt scared.

She was almost at me when the wall crashed in and three more people stepped in, one I recognized as Noah the head Guardian.

"Jessa! What are you doing!" yelled one of the girls. Jessa's concentration was broke and the wall of lava fell down.

"Antonius! Laretta! Let's go!" I shouted and we soon dissapeared and were at the jet.

"What about Audi?" Laretta asked.

"What about her?"

"Shouldn't we wait?"

"You want the guardians on our tail? The sooner we leave the better. Audi can take care of herself."

That was one of the rules: Leave anyone behind who falls behind and save your own skin. That was how it worked, no questioning that. If Nathaniel gets angry at me for losing his pet... so be it.

~Jessa~

(Insert line of profanity here)

"Hi there, Noah, Charcoal, Kathy. What's up?" I asked, full of angel-like innocence.

"Don't give us that crap, Jessa! Look at this damage!" Kathy said, and I looked around.

"Oops..." I said, shrugging. I MAY have nearly destroyed a few builings...

"OOPS! OOPS! All you can say is OOPS!! You idiot!" That would be Charcoal. I think Noah was trying to look serious, but it wasn't working out too well. So I started laughing.

"HOW CAN YOU LAUGH AT A TIME LIKE THIS!" Kathy screamed, "WE'RE going to have to fix THIS."

"Umm...guys..." This punch-aholic said, "Maybe you should calm down."

"If it weren't for your little rivalry, we wouldn't have to be restraining Lava-girl over there!"
Kathy said. She's dead.

"WHAT. DID. YOU. JUST. CALL. ME?"
