To Save the World

Bella and I have been thinking about this idea for a while and decided to see how it would do here on YWS.

Setting: Venice (Italy), New York (New York) and North Africa

Plot: There are twenty people in the world who officially don’t exist. Each one of these people have discovered they have extraordinary abilities. These people have the power over one ‘element’ each, and have split into three easily definable groups: The Good, The Bad, and the Guardians. Each ‘elemental’ has a twin, usually with the opposite element (example: Fire’s twin would be Water). Sometimes the twins aren’t opposite, but no two ‘elementals’ have the same ability.

The Bad are out to spread chaos across the world and use their powers for selfish reasons. The Good are out to stop the bad from accomplishing their goals. The Guardians are there to protect the innocent from both of the other sides, as neither are concerned with how many people they hurt in the process of accomplishing what they set out to do. Each ‘team’ or ‘group’ has a designated leader. The Good reside in New York. The Bad are in Venice. And the Guardians are in Africa.

Rules:

-No God-Modding
-Keep other characters in character.
-Keep it PG-13. No sexual scenes or large amounts of swearing or violence.
-No killing other characters without the creator’s permission.
-No more than three characters per person.
-Each post must be at least one decent-sized paragraph, but preferably more.
-Try to keep the ‘teams/groups’ even. If there are already 7 people in one group, pick another one. There are only allowed to be 7 characters per group.
-Feel free to play as someone who doesn’t have any power.
-If you have more than one character, they cannot be on the same side. I.E. You can't control two baddies, etc.

Element: Fire

Ability: Fire has the ability to manipulate and control fire and heat. They can make fire with the snap of their fingers, or put out a burning inferno with a thought.

Appearance: Her

Personality: She has a really bad temper. She can be very mean, but nice too. Depends on her mood. She is still on the side of good though.

History:
She was an orphan so she took off on her own taking care of herself and working her way up in the world. She didn't notice her powers until she was fifteen. After that she did everything she could keep from hurting herself or anyone else.


Name: Colt Rose

Element: Electricity

Ability: Metal has the ability to manipulate and control electricity. He can make electricity with the snap of his fingers, or destroy a current with a thought.

Side: Bad

Appearance: Him

Personality: He is calm and collective, he is very dangerous when he is mad becaues he is calm and collective and can always think while he does stuff.

History:

Name:Larella J. Martinez (you may make a nickname up for her if you'd like ;])

Ability: She can come in contact with spirits of the underworld or the heavens, When she talks to spirits her eyes turn black. She can learn history of places she's in from spirits and they can give her information nobody knows. Also she has the power to raise the dead (only on a full moon) with a certain ritual.
Side: bad (because twin decided to be good. I can work with it :])

Appearance:

Personality: She is very bi polar, one minute she can be happy the next she can be angry. It all depends on what spirits shes talked to, She keeps to herself most of the time. She hates being bad knowing it's a terrible example for Raye, She wishes she could stop. But the evil spirits take over her body and thoughts. Larella is super nice to Raye and tells him to never be like her though he always says he won't.
History: In her past she struggled with countless evil spirits who tried to force her on their side. She ended up becoming very bad. Her parents died in a huge car crash on the freeway, the only relative she has is her younger brother; Raye.

Personality:very outgoing and loves playing with Larella. He's gotten used to her talking to spirits and likes to watch. He is home schooled by Larella and normally has a smile on.
History: Raye misses his mom and dad but he is getting used to the way things are. He and Larella are really close and are always together anywhere she goes he folllows.

Ability: She has the power to control water, to both materialize and vanish and to manipulate it's movement.

Personality: Charly is very focused on protecting the innocent, and especially when it comes to children. She has a determined personality, but can be quite a bit of fun with the right people.

History: Charly was born and raised in Northern Africa, both her parents guardians. However, she hadn't originally planned to take over in the business when her parents died and had married young and had a baby. A couple months ago, Charly's husband and daughter were killed by the forces of good or evil--of which, Charly was not sure. Since then she has been very gung-ho about protecting the innocent. She isn't often found talking about her family, but it's always in her thoughts.

Name: Yentaro Tegusha
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Element: Body
Ability: He can increase his strength by influencing the muscles, allowing him to become stronger and faster then normal humans. He also is able to manipulate his bone structure, hardening or softening the density of his bones. He also has a strong regenerative ability, allowing him to heal fast, and even grow his bones back quickly. He will often pull out his bones, shaping them to be like swords/knives and use them as weapons. Kimiaro’s body also possesses what is known as muscle memory. This ability allows him to mimic whatever he see a person do with his body.
Side: Bad
Twin: Emotion

Weapons: His body is a natural weapon, but he also carries around a Katana, and two pistols.
Personality: He is a genuine guy, with a calm composure who is friendly and kind to most people he meets. He is on the side of bad because he does desire power, money, woman, all that good stuff.
History: Born to two wealthy parents, Yentaro was given all the best in the world, and he took advantage of it. When he discovered his powers at the age of 17, he used to them to give himself a head start in the world. He ended up killing his parents and taking over there billion dollar business. He now leads a double life, in one he is Yentaro Tegusha, respected business man and owner of Tegusha Enterprises. In the other life he is one of the top members of a group who seeks to control the world… talk about a double life.
Tegusha Enterprises: One of the largest companies in Africa, Tegusha has its hands in nearly everything imaginable. Its main to areas are Gas/Oil, Real-estate, and Biotechnology. It is a very well known company in Africa with wide spread influence and power.

Element: Emotion
Ability: (What they can do with their element. Example: Fire has the ability to manipulate and control fire and heat. They can make fire with the snap of their fingers, or put out a burning inferno with a thought. (Things like that)) Has the ability to Draw power from his own emotions as in anger is a burst of power that goes around him or that he points the anger at a spot. every emotion has it's own atribute, wich you will get to know when the story starts. He can also read other peoples emotions and use them to draw power, not as effective but useful when he himself wears out of power.

Name: Carson

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Element: Metal

Ability: He can make his entire body, or any part of it, metal. He is not restricted to any one metal, but can change to anything from mercury to titanium. Additionally, he can alter the shape and liquidity of any metal object with a thought.

Side: Guardians

Twin: Electricity

Appearance: Human, Metal

Personality: Carson is almost always calm. He can't even remember the last time he lost his temper with someone. His relaxed nature allows him to think on his feet and react logically to any situation in which he is faced with conflict with either the good or the evil forces.

History: Carson was the oldest child of a large family, having three younger sisters and two younger brothers, the eldest of which was eight years younger than him. His parents worked as United Nations peacekeepers, and raised him to consider the innocent before himself, and to always look out for those less fortunate than him. When they were killed in a firefight between Libyan insurgents, spurred on by agents of the Evil, and soldiers of the Good. Seeing that neither side seemed to care about the losses they sustained and caused in attaining their goals, Carson chose the side of the Guardians in order to better protect others against the fighting, in particular to protect his younger siblings.

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Element: Light

Ability: He can manipulate light and the light waves around him, and usually uses them in creating illusions. He can reflect more light away from himself and thereby become invisible, or change its position in such a way that he creates a double image. He can also create many other, more minor illusions, most of which are only good for party tricks. When it comes to a fight, the most Jason can normally bring himself to do is blind his enemies - temporarily or permanently. Though he can focus the light into a laser powerful enough to cut through almost anything, he abhors violence, and the focus and energy required to use light as a weapon is incredibly draining on him.

Twin: Darkness

Appearance: The one with the messy hair. He has brown hair and green eyes.

Personality: Jason's personality fluctuates a lot. He can be a fairly easy-going guy most of the time, happy just to hang out with his friends and forget that there's anything really serious going on in the world. But when placed under pressure, that's where his true colours show. He's fiercely loyal to those he loves, and will never back down or give up. He's incredibly hot-headed, and is likely to be the first to step up to the plate if it looks like there's trouble brewing.

History: Jason and his little sister Hallie are orphans, having lived on the streets of New York City since Jason was eight and Hallie was four. While life was never easy for them from that time, Jason's ability managed to keep drug dealers and pimps from getting to them, and it also provided a way for them to have enough money to eat. Several close encounters with the underworld has led to Jason's strong hatred for anything evil, and his dedication to the cause of good. However, he puts his sister and those few friends he has before the cause of good, and unlike many of those he has worked with, he would not give them up if it meant furthering his side's goals.

Element: Nature

Ability: Can control nature, mostly plants, and trees, and animals. Would weather be considered part of nature?

Side: Good

Twin: o_O? I have a twin?...erm...Larissa (evil) can control body (suduces)

Personality: shy, gentle, fierce and loyal to those she holds close.

History: abused and neglected, so she turned to the outdoors. Thats where she discovered her gift.

Hey guys! Hope you don't mind that I updated your initial post, Maybe but I thought it would be good to make it clearer what powers are left and electricity has been claimed twice... by Lord Anzius first by the looks of it (I take it TN edited her second character in on her latest update) so Colt probably needs a new power? But I'll leave that with Maybe and stop over-stepping on her power now, sorry dear!

Oh and why are blood, weather, mind and dark crossed out? Are those the ones claimed by Bella and you?

And in other news, here's my first and currently only character:

Name: Maisy
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Element: Matter
Ability: Maisy can materialise objects or she can de-materialise them. This ability, in theory, stretches to life but has not been tested in such a capacity as of yet.
Side: Bad... sort of
Twin: Mind
Appearance: Maisy is petite with honey blond hair and soft, brown eyes. Her skin is soft and of an almost creamy complexion and she dresses in jeans and pastel, cotton tops. Her hair is about shoulder length.
Personality: Soft spoken, quiet, sweet and very timid. Maisy rarely starts conversations and she's highly observative and reasonably intelligent but shy and very frightened. Inside her head, she feels like she's falling apart, like she's barely able to hold herself together. She often cries but never gives a reason and will stop very suddenly, wiping at her eyes furiously.
History: Maisy rarely talks about her past. She grew up in an orphanage, wearing hand-me-down clothes and receiving little of an education. She was in and out of various foster homes, never managing to find a permanent residence for various reasons. And then suddenly at the age of thirteen, someone adopted her. He was a shady figure and his home was cold, large and empty except for the two of them. He kept the doors locked but she could explore anywhere inside and at first rather liked it. Weeks past and she settled in and her new 'father' hinted at her 'specialness' but Maisy didn't understand. Her new father grew impatient eventually when the power he knew she had failed to manifest itself. Then the beatings began. Maisy could hide in the attic or the cellar but he'd find her eventually. She tried to escape but the doors were locked and the windows barred. The beatings did not stop for six years but then, not far from her twentieth birthday, she de-materialised the lock on the door. Maisy was terrified and sought help from the only man who had ever shown her kindness and given her a home. He was delighted. He had no power for himself but had long been aiding the bad side and had been informed of Maisy and her location. Since then Maisy has been under his care but he has finished training her now. She has recently been sent to New York to infiltrate the good people and prevent them from stopping the bad side's destruction. But Maisy is observant and reasonably intelligent. She is torn between her conscience and her genuine affection for her father. She feels she owes him a debt.
