Naw, I'm more like a one-person wave.

So some of you know me.

I joined as myself. I shall not type like bubblehead14, even though ... the temptation is so great ...

Right. I don't know how serious I am about staying here, but people keep saying things about YWS (bad things), and you know -- it's all your fault. You tempted me, bastards.

Is "bastards" allowed? I always though it was a mediocrish curse word, but then my friend said her mom would freak out over the title of the Gentleman Bastard series (which is awesome, by the way,) so now I'm not so sure.

Some things about me:

I write fantasy, I'm a moderator on TW, and an overlady on YWO. I will never bring SBS here.

Aaand ... I'm supposed to critique before posting my own story. Gods, maybe I'll never post my own story. Or I'll postpone posting it until I'm done with the second revision.

Which is what I should be doing now -- why the hell did I join this site? -thunk-

Someone delete my account before my publishing dreams soar out the -- oh, it's too late.

I guess I'll stay.

Hah, wow...that was the most strange and fitting welcome-post I've ever seen. Welcome to the site, my bubble-headed friend.

Please, "bastards" is fine. Certainly not worth an 'R' rating. More people will read this post if you change it to pg or pg-13 at the worst. You should read the rules, but and "R" rating is the only required rating, and you only use it if you say the f-word, s-word or have explicit sexual content. So yeah.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing your stuff around here, if I get as much a kick out of it as I did your welcome post. And don't worry about the revision thing...just post a bit of your story at a time and the people HERE will help you edit! That's what we're here for.

Feel free to pm me with questions or just want to talk to someone. If there's anyone completley obsessed with YWS - C'est moi. I'm always looking for new friends. *acts bubbleheaded for a moment.* :P Anyway, hope to see you around.

Au revoir,

Well, I'm not actually bubble-headed. (Or perhaps I am, but I don't know it.) I kept saying I would join YWS and pretend to be stupid, but then I thought -- what's the point? If joining YWS is going to be a waste of my time, I might as well try not to make it a waste of my time.

That made no sense whatsoever.

Well, I removed the rating. It was more of a joke, now that I think back on it, but since people actually pay attention to them ...

Ahem.

As for helping with editing, what I really need is a squadron of people that will sign on to MSN/AIM and frequently bombard me with threats when I procrastinate from editing. I only have one person that does that, and ... she has gone overseas to meet her boyfriend, whaddaya know. Hey, she just signed on and now is talking to me! I shall delicately circumvent the topic. Ahem.

Aand -- you speak French! I'm only learning it, but I love the language. I'm one person that's not going to forget it over the summer, because I keep learning French lyrics -- and not understanding them.

Ah, tu parles le Français? C'est un bon chose. ^^

Er, welcome, in any case. I'm not entirely sure if you're wanting to be here or not - hah, you perplex me. But, in any case, if you need help with something or have a question, feel free to PM me.

I'm a friend of Ed's, so. ^_~

Je suis la classe, mais je ne parle pas le français. Donc, je sais pas ... qu'est-ce que je dis?

Gah. Quoi que je dis?

I still need to do my French summer homework.

Ed is actually one of my no-longer-used-on-the-Internet nicknames, so you can perplex me as much as I perplex you. Or perhaps less, because I know Ed is Stabs/Pseudowench.

You'll know I'm going to be a permanent fixture when I wander out of this thread and into one that someone else started. Having said that, I'll be sure to never post anywhere else now, just to forever perplex you.

The history of TW members joining YWS isn't a good one. All that I ask while you're here is that you please obey our rules while you're on this site.

Ah, well. I've tried to be squeaky clean, but I guess I've failed.

May I know where I crossed the line? Perhaps I should've pretended that I found this site on Google. xP Because I was originally going to do that. I never find sites on Google.

TW: teenagewriters.com

Rules/moderators/styles are very different. I'm going to see if I can find a niche for myself on both.

All we ask is that you follow the rules of YWS here, which are different form those TW. Those rules include no profanity outside the literary forums because we have a much younger audience than many forums.

So! Please read through the rules, and check out anything under the "help and support" tab at the top right of the page, they're very helpful! If you have any questions, ask me! We'd much rather not argue if we can help it!

Oh, thank you for the link. I had not read the rules, although somewhere I had learned that profanity was unacceptable, there was a 2:1 critique ratio, and that people ought to be nice to other people.

But is "bastard" profanity? I mean, I guess it is, but does that mean I should rate my intro thread PG-13?

Seeing as how Disney has it in some animated movies, PG would be fine. It's more about the context in which the language is used, rather than the language itself (with the exception of a few choice words).

Anyhow, welcome to YWS! Sorry for the not so friendly reception, but we've really had bad experience with many TW members from Imelda (who tried to badmouth us on our wikipedia entry) to Hypocrit on down. So yes, it probably would've been better if you said you found the site on Google ;)

The two sites just have such different cultures that they don't necessarily mesh well, and many TW members get a kick out of testing how much they can do before they get banned. But as long as you respect the rules we've set up here, it's all cool.

But if I'm not here to cause trouble, what am I here for?

My soul ... forever wandering ... purposeless ...

Thank you for the endorsement. I am also having trouble navigating YWS, but I'm better at it than I was two hours ago, and I think I'll have it down pat in a few days.

I would poke you, Meldi, but you oughtn't be here.
