Travien slept. Deeply. Undisturded. Completely. He slept well into midday, recovering his strength from the day and night before. It had drained him, he had known, but to that extent? Damn.

He opened his eyes finally to find Aurora no where in sight. Where was she? He sniffed the air; she was around. She was outside, with Ronar and Sori, no doubt. Travien yawned and stretched, groaning when a few joints popped. Helena was right; he was sore. Probably would be for another day or so.

It took him a moment to get to his feet, and he went to the cave's opening. There, he leaned against the wall and stared at the scene before him. Aurora had befriended Ronar to the point of letting her climb all over him. Travien smiled at that.

Oh! You're awake! Ronar, Aurora! He's awake! Sori suddenly chirped, attention finally snared by the appearance of her best friend.

Aurora squealed and jumped off Ronar.

"Easy Aurora." Hellena warned.

Aurora sighed and strode towards Travien, looking at him shyly. "Are you okay? Need anything bandaged? sleep well?" She asked rapidly, just glad to see him up.

Even though Ronar and sori were great company, they couldn't even compare to her love. She sighed and brushed a piece of fiery red bouncing curls off her face. She had given up trying to even fix her hair because it was untamable.

She cupped his face gently, not knowing how much she could do without hurting him.

He let his face rest in her hand, closing his eyes as he did so. He loved her touch...

"I'm fine," he spoke gently, softly. He was still sore, and probably would be for several more days. "I slept well, but I'm still a little weak."

Ronar snorted. You probably will be for a while. That was one hell of a fight.

Travien nodded. "I'm just glad its over."

Aurora whimpered. "But you said your society is based on fighting. when is the next time you'll get hurt?!" she didn't know why she was so upset...she just was. She felt tears fall from her face. She instictively pulled away from Travien. she wanted to run and hide.

she ddnzt know why she was so upset. she just was. Hellena came out and glared at travien.

"Aurora, come with me. You need to eat. Please."

I shook my head. "I'm not hungry."

"You havenzt eaten all day. Please."

"No!" she sobbed. she turned and started running, fleeing.

Travien groaned. Again. She was crying again, and about what?

About losing him. She didn't want to lose him.

He saw Helena begin to follow the girl into the forest. He pushed off the wall, away from the cave, and began to walk toward the path his mate had taken.

"Let her go, Helena," he said bluntly. "I'll take care of her - "

"No, you are the main problem! You think you're helping her, but you're not!"

"That's why it's my responsibility! She is my mate, she is upset because of me, it's my job to correct it!"

"God damn it, Travien! Don't go out there!"

He ignored her. He took off, following his mate into the woods. It hurt to run, but he had to. He had to catch her, to console her, to let her know it was okay.

This will not happen again. I will not fall again like I did. I will get stronger, faster, better, so that I may protect her and this land without trouble. I will not get hurt again. I promise. And he meant it. He would keep that little promise in mind for when the next time came.

**It may just be me, but her crying so much? Sounds like a symptom of pregnancy. **

**Lol. That's what I was thinking...idk why she cries so much...you'd have to ask her. =p donzt you hate it when characters get away from you? XD**

Aurora stopped and caught her breath. Her hair was tangled with leaves and other debri. she heard footsteps behind her and stiffened. she felt arms pull her close. Soft lips kissed her head, stroking her cheek gently.

"What's wrong, my love?"

"I don't know!" she sobbed.

Travien held her close, letting all her weight fall against him. He kissed her on the top of her head, again, using his fingertips to brush the hair out of her face.

"Love, it's okay," he whispered, voice honest. "I'm fine. I will be fine. I will not let this happen again; at least, not to this extent." He hugged her tighter, showing emphasis in his words. "Never again will I be so weak and easy to injure; from now on, I will get stronger so that I can protect you like I need to. Understand?"

**Aurora being pregnant would add a little unexpected twist to the story... But considering twists, we still need to come up with a way to introduce his brother. And do not think Gorton is gone for good...yet. lol **

**Lol. Yeah...we can wait for her being pregnant. can't his bro just show up? There's a lot of dragons around lately. Lol. She can be pregnant...but no one knows except the writers. =p Hellena can have a suspicion or someone can...but not until after his brother do they realize that she's pregnant.**

aurora cried on his shoulder. "It doesnzt matter! I hate you fighting! I hate you getting hurt! What if something happens?! It's not over! You said so yourself!" She continued to sob. she just couldn't stop! Why was she so stinkin' emotional?! She whimpered. She was so sad....so depressed...For no good reason. She sighed.

"Sorry...I donzt mean to freak out. I'm...I'm glad youzd even pick me at all...I'm just a stupid human...it doesn't matter much..." She cried harder. She just couldn't lose him!

Travien held her face in his hands, locking his gaze with hers. He stared at her firmly. "Aurora, you are not just a stupid human. You saved my life. You Impressed me. You are my mate! I chose you because I was supposed to. Fate wanted me to be with you. Okay? I. Love. You."

He pulled her in for a quick kiss. It was mostly chaste but still held all his love for her. He held her against his body again, hushing her softly and rubbing her back tenderly. In the meantime, he brushed minds with Helena.

Something's wrong with her. She's not usually this upset about things.

He felt the nymph nod. I noticed it, too, but you have to consider the drama of the past few days. First, you two go off and have sex, then Sori gets hurt, then you get hurt, and so on and so forth. Maybe it's just the shock of it all. She'll be fine later.

He waited, mulling through her words. One specific one stood out: sex. What if...? He - mentally - shook his head. Just wishful thinking. He finally responded to the nymph. You're right. I guess I'm just being paranoid.

He heard the nymph chuckle, and he withdrew from her mind. Aurora was beginning to calm down.

Aurora laughed at herself as she whipped her eyes. "Sorry...I love you. with all my heart. But...can we have a human ceremony?"

She blushed. "You donzt have to..we don'tt have to. we belong to you in your culture..."

It was a silly thought. she just..wanted it to make it official. she wanted a ring...anda dress. she wanted to marry him...but it was just a stupid human ceremony.

she blushed. "Never mind."

Travien thought about all she had said. A wedding? With a ring and a white dress? He only knew vague things about weddings, and that was that it bound people together spiritually and by last names, unlike mating.

I'll have to talk to someone, to get a better idea about this "wedding" issue.

He kissed her on the forehead, but, again, all good things must come to an end. Sori stepped up, tense and anxious. Travien?

He turned to her. "What is it? Is something wrong?"

She dipped her head in a nod. Um...A dragon's here to see you. He looks a lot like you...

Now, that was odd. "Okay...I'll be there in a moment."

Aurora looked at him curiously. "What's wrong love?"

"Another dragon is here that looks like me."

"Oh! Let's go meet him!" She giggled and pulled him towards where the other dragon was. She stopped short. He looked identical to Travien.

She looked at travien curiously. "Who's this?"

Travien didn't hear her question. He was already getting into a deep conversation with the new dragon, also bright red but with brown and black dapplings. His eyes were deep brown instead of amber.

Who are you? Travien asked.

Androl, and who are you? Tell me, are you the same Travien that wounded my father?

Your father?

Yes. Gorton.

Travien froze. Gorton was this dragon's father? Then...that meant...

Brother? Travien couldn't keep the surprise out of his tone.

What? It gawked at him. What did you call me?

Gorton is also my father. You're my brother!

A moment passed. Then two. Both of them just stared at each other, eyes wide in shock and unease. Brothers? Travien had a brother?

"My God..." Travien finally breathed. Aurora bent closer, but he didn't hear her words. "This dragon...Androl...is my brother..."
