Travien held her face in his hands, making her look directly into his eyes.

"Aurora, calm down," he told her, voice steady. "It may be how our society is, but you will not lose me. Understand? I won't let anyone take you away from me. Period."

She began to cry, and he pulled her into his arms, holding her. He was stiff and it hurt, but it wouldn't stop him. She needed him.

"Just because I say it doesn't mean it will happen. Okay? Just because our society is based on fighting and winning does not mean[/i[ I will lose a battle for you. You are [i]mine. Forever more. Okay?"

Aurora cried hard against him. it hurt bad. "I can't lose you! Travien...I can't! I can't go back to what my life was like!" she card harder, her tears falling on his clothes. she held onto him tightly, forgetting that he was hurt.

Hellena saw him winxe. "Aurora...sweety, I know your upset...but he's still sore from fighting. He needs to rest, darling."

Aurora whimpered, tears still falling from her eyes.

Travien pushed Helena's hand away when the nymph tried to pull Aurora away.

"Don't worry about it," he assured her. "I can handle her first."

"Are you sure? Gorton nearly killed you."

"I'm stronger than I look. Just ask Ronar."

The dragon snorted, dipping his head in a nod. And thick-skulled as hell. I know from experience what a pain in the ass it is to bring you down.

Travien snickered at that.

Helena glared at Travien, but saw how upset Aurora was. She was so scared and frightened...

Helena sighed and nodded. "Alright. Just be careful, aurora."

Aurora nodded and clutched Travien tighter, tears still falling from her eyes. "Dragons can take your mate?" she asked shakily.

"Nice going ass." Helena said in Travien's mind. "You should've let her get over you almost getting killed first...and then sprung the whole 'it's a possibility another dragon could take you' thing."

Travien returned the glare. Shut up.

He focused on Aurora, stroking her back. "Under normal circumstances, yes. With us, no. No other dragon, as far as I know, would want a human for a mate. But even if one did, they would never beat me. Never."

Aurora sighed in relief. "Good. I guess it's a good thing I'm a human then." I smiled and leaned into him. "Why is it Sori and Ronar like me so much? I thought most dragons hated humans...not saying there isn't bad ones...but...I thought you said Ronar didn't like humans..." She looked at him questioningly. It seemed as if she was enchanting every dragon she met...

**She's got too good of a personality not to like her. =p**

**You're right about that. lol Sorry if I'm not doing my best on posting...I'm preoccupied by the pain of a badly sprained ankle...**

Travien watched as Ronar and Sori contemplated the question. He was even interested in their answers.

You're a lot like me, Sori finally crooned, nudging Aurora tenderly. You're like a sister I never had.

Ronar didn't answer. Maybe he didn't even know the answer yet.

Aurora giggled and hugged her neck. "Izm happy to be your little sister any day." She flashed a grin at sori. "I think your amazing yourself."

Then she looked at Ronar seriously. "And you? Why do you enjoy or trust being around me? I can't really even protect myself...but yet..you let me heal you...you trusted me. Why?" She waited for his answer curiously. Then she would ask travien why he loved her...

***I was playing volleyball, and I guess I turned wrong or something. Anyway, and then I was stupid enough to march with band twice within that same day! Ugh!! XD **

Ronar hesitated. Why did he trust her? It wasn't normal...wasn't...thinkable.

He finally gave in. Your presence...confuses me. I had always considered humans to be dangerous and evil, but...you're not. You actually make me feel...safe, for some reason.

The look she gave him confirmed that: compassion. But it was brief, for then she turned on Travien. "And you. Why do you love me?"

"What kind of question is that - "

"Please? Just answer it."

He nodded and took her hand in his. "Because of who you are. You are a beautiful, intelligent, wonderful, and compassionate girl, with a bright mind and outstanding disposition. I also owe you my life. On many occassions." He smiled. "I see the angel in you, and seeing it has bound me to you forever."

Aurora blushed at Travien's comments. He was so sweet. she sighed and leaned her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes. "You all are wonderful." She opened her eyes and smiled at sori, then ronar. "Thank, sir, for trusting me. It means a lot...and I know it means a lot to travien that you fought by his side to defend us..."

She blushed again. Then she smiled at travien. "And you are TOO perfect." She kissed his cheek then looked at everyon worridly. "Is everyone okay?! How are the wounds? Still healing? do I need to put on fresh herbs?"

** Guess what happened today!! I kinda expected it, with him behaving as he was (holding my hand, putting his arm around me, and tickling my knees), but STILL!!!! My boyfriend kissed me after church today!! He walked me to my car, hugged me, and then KISSED me!!! **

Travien scoffed humoredly, shaking his head at her. Sometimes she was too nice and caring.

"No, dear," he answered her simply. "What we need is to rest. But thank you anyway."

He gingerly stood and began making his way toward the cave.

Aurora whimpered when he left her. She followed him, wondering if she was allowed to lay in his arms.

when she got to the cave, he was already laying down. She shuffled her feet pethetically, until she finally dropped to the floor and just looked at him.

**Did you like it? =p**

** XD Of course. XD lol **

Travien watched her for a moment, waiting for further response from her. Was she afraid? Was she uncertain? Or was she waiting for permission?

He finally opened his arms, gesturing for her to join him. "You won't hurt me."

Aurora went to him, overjoyed. she laid beside him, cuddling up in his wonderful arms. "Thanks love...I...you are amazing. I'm still not sure how I got so lucky. But I love you with all my heart...and I don't know what I'd do without you! You are my other half...and I love you." Then she was sleeping, wonderful dreams floating in her head...
