Okay...

For those of you who don't know, Griffin and I are twins and we are homeschooled. Anyway, when we were fourteen our mom promised to give us a nice graduation on our eighteenth birthday. Me, being the absolute ditz, and my brother, being the ultimate procrastinator, forgot about this immediately. However, we both are nearly eighteen and now we're trying to figure out what we're going to do for our graduation.

I've been to homeschool celebrations before. One of them was at the guy's home and we had this barbecue and... it was like an Eagle celebration. Really cool. Other times, the homeschoolers rent out ball rooms and go dancing. (This sounds thrilling to me as I love dancing.)

Anyway, the possibilities are endless. So the question is, what should we do for our eighteenth birthday? Note that money is not a problem.

And yes, I know we just turned 17, but we have to reserve space in advance if it's going to be fancy smancy.

A dance is probably fun for you.
Now let's see the cons
1: The people you want to come might not like dancing
2: It might be hard to organise
3: The people that you want to come might like dancing, but can't dance.
That's all i'm gonna say for now.

Have a fancy dress party and dress up as a pineapple!! That would be ace.

A forked mountain, or blue promontory,
With trees upon't that nod unto the world,And mock our eyes with air.."

Muse, in North America we call them costume parties. I wonder if anyone has costume parties not on Halloween or Purim.

However, if you love dancing, giving yourself a prom is a fabo idea. I had mine two years ago, and danced pretty much the entire time. The only problem being that I have scoliosis, so my spine had melted by the end of the night. Amazingly, I managed to get up the next day and go to my writer-in-residence appointment.

You can only do dancing if all your friends (or at least those you really care about) like dancing.

Dance parties are horrible for people who don't dance (because they are smart enough to know they can't). Trust me, I know. I NEVER dance (because I can't and I refuse to humiliate myself).

Oh and if you do organise a dance party, don't force not-dancers to dance. That is really annoying. (In my case my friends can pull at me as much as they want to, they can drag me to the dance floor but I'm not going to dance... )

I'd say go for the dance party. And have some fun games, too! And invite me! *laughs*

Hehe!

Yes, that does sound fun but Griffin... well...

This is what he looks like when he dances:

That was to jazz music too. So we might want to have something else. Still, there's gotta be some dancing.

Any other ideas?

Cute picture.

If you lived in Ontario I'd suggest going to Ontario Place or Canada's Wonderland. But you don't, so if you can manage the funds to send a bunch of people to any nearby amusement/theme park, that could be really fun.

Prom's always a good idea, but its been said, so i guess you know about those, fancy dress, or costume, whatever you call them, or even themed parties, like, "Scarlet Ball" like a prom but every one you invite has to wear red, or you can even go silly with an idea like "Star Wars Party" where everyone comes dressed up as star wars characters. Or, you can rent out a large but cosy room with a bar (seeing how your legal and all) and a stage and ask a local band along to play, invite a load of people and just party like you would at a normal gig, just that you organised it. If you hold a gig, make it invite only, or you'll end up with any old folk who will get drunk and try pushing drugs.

If i have any interesting ideas i'll put them up, but thats all i can think of for now

..What if her attic's too small??? Lol!

Turn the LIVING room into a cheap 70's disco. OR have a dance outside! That'd be fun.
