Ryder rolled her eyes and smiled.

"I guess so. So how have you been?" she said, leaning up against a tree.

"Fine I suppose. I'm still alive aren't I?"

"Yeah, otherwise I would still be up in the sky."

"You know it's dangerous to be out in the forest alone, especially a girl your age."

"Gosh, what are you, my father? I wasn't even technically in the forest...just above it."

"No, I'm a concerned friend. I wouldn't want to have to raise a troublemaker like you anyways." Lethero smirked and Ryder stuck her tongue out at him.

"Besides bothering me, ya old man, what's up?" Ryder giggled as he uttered a small growl at her.
"After it happened I thought that I'd just try to live as normally as possible and bury it, but things like that don't stay buried. I didn't think it would, but it taints your whole life."

Moonie walked through the forest, alone as always. She had just finished eating a meal of toadstools, and she felt abit sleepy.

It was so hot out, and it was so much worse for Moonie with her fluffy black fur. Her ears twitched as she heard something, she grabbed her long bow and got an arrow ready to shoot.

She sniffed the air, "A Werewolf and an Alan?". Moonie's curiousity was getting to her again, she walked towards the sounds. She peeked over a near bye bush, and saw a white haired human boy and a female Alan talking to each other.

"That has gotta be the Werewolf", Moonie whispered to herself. "Uh oh...!", she sneezed and she fell over the bush, the two creatures didn't even jump they just starred at her.

Ryder blinked at the small creature.

"what are you?" She asked, confused.

"It's a young brownie, Ryder, I thought you've learned your creatures by now."

"eh I know most of them, that's all that matters." Ryder looked at the brownie and smiled. "Awwww It's so cute!" Lethero rolled his eyes.

"You can act like such a girl sometimes you know that?" He said.

"Hush, Lethero. So what's your name, brownie?" Ryder asked, smiling at it. "I'm Ryder."
"After it happened I thought that I'd just try to live as normally as possible and bury it, but things like that don't stay buried. I didn't think it would, but it taints your whole life."

Moonie sat up, seeing that the creatures were no threat.

"I don't appreciate the cute comment", she said brushing herself off and picking her long bow up. "Why should I tell you my name? How do you know that I might not be some evil creature that could tare you limb from limb...", she sighed, "My name is Moonie".

Moonie walked towards them, "Your a Werewolf, I could smell you a mile away, and your an Alan, I could hear your wings all the way from the last town".

"You hear that, Lethero," Ryder said, "she can smell you a mile a away. You better start bathing." Moonie giggled and Lethero glared at Ryder. "Come on, Lethero, can't you take a joke?"

Lethero ignored her and crouched in front of Moonie. "So, Moonie, why are you alone? Where are your parents?" Moonie looked away sadly and said nothing. "Come on, you can tell us?"

"My parents are dead," Moonie simply said.

Ra'enya

I stepped out of the brush and looked at the other elf. She was afraid; why?

"Who are you?" she asked, still clinging to her bow.

"Enya. Put down your weapon." That was all I was going to say. Perhaps she would get the hint...I entered her mind and showed her an olive branch, whispering words of peace directly into her mind. If if wasn't helpful, it would only scare her into submission.

Ryder frowned and gave Moonie a sympathetic look.

"I'm so sorry, I know what that's like." Ryder said softly.

"Actually, I'm pretty sure you don't..." Moonie said quietly. Everyone was quiet and then Lethero spoke up.

"Would you mind telling us what happened to them?" Lethero asked.
"After it happened I thought that I'd just try to live as normally as possible and bury it, but things like that don't stay buried. I didn't think it would, but it taints your whole life."

Moonie uttered a sigh, "Well I was really young when it happend. I remember being asleep in my bed with my big sister, then my mother came running into get us out... She was screaming that 'something' is here, we needed to get out. She made my sister take me out through the tunnels into the forest, we waited for along time. My sister finaly left me to find our parents, she never came back".

Ryder and Lethero looked at each other, as if they knew what had attacked Moonie's village.

Moonie looked up at them, senseing their uneasiness she asked in a small vioce "Can I help fight? I have a good reason to". She starred at them both, her amber eyes reflecting the sun's raise.

Alesha:

I glared, but put my bow away. "I don't like people messing with my mind." I tried to get her out. I hated my personal bubble invaded. I liked my privacy. "Name's Alesha." I said harshly. I sighed. "sorry. I don't mean to be rude...it's just you can never trust people...or elfs these days." I smiled sadly. "So...are you hungry?" I asked, leaning down and bringing forth fruit.

"Fight?" Lethero asked. "But this is an age of peace, there hasn't been major conflicts since my father stopped the hostilities between humans and Magical Creatures."

"But I thought the humans were our enemies?" Moonie asked looking confused.

"Your village must be isolated from the rest of the world then," Lethero said. "The fighting ended fifty years ago."

"What's with the sword on your back then?" Moonie asked pointing to Moonblade. "Why are you carrying weapons if there's peace."

"Oh, this thing," Lethero said drawing Moonblade. "This is more symbolic now than practical. It was my father's blade." He looked at the small Brownie in front of him.

"Oh," she said sadly. "But I want revenge, for my parents and my sister."

"Well, we'll just have to help you get it then," Ryder said. "You're with the Guard, aren't you, Lethero? You could summon people to help find the people responsible for this."

"Sure."

Azrayel-

Ray paced along the road, his cloak pulled up so that humans wouldn't realise what he was. He hated walking, preferring to fly, but he couldn't this close to a village. The wars between races may have ended before he was born, but Ray was still biased. Thanks to his parents, he didn't trust the humans as far as he could throw them.

He paused, tilting his head to catcch some of the talk ahead of him, all he caught was "Guard" and "Vengeance".

Ryder stood up straight and smiled softly.

"Good, we will help you out, Moonie. Maybe we should head back to the village? I kinda left my sythe at home and I would feel more comfortable with it in my hands."

"Ok, sure, I need to talk to a few people anyways." Lethero said. They started to walk back in the direction of the village and Ryder walked slow so she was behind the two. She thought about her siblings, they never treated her right, except Tack. At least, that's what she called her one brother who was the same as her. She wondered if whatever killed Moonie's family had killed her siblings as well...maybe they could hit two birds with one stone...of course that's not likely, but she hoped it was.

Ryder heard a small noise and turned around to see a dark figure some area far back.

"Lethero, I think someone's out there."

Aren:

I walked steadily through the day. I hated day. It was too hot. I growled and decided if I ran, it would feel good. I raced, turning into my other form. I pulled up short when I saw human kids. I cursed and changed back quickly. I heard a noise behind me and growled. It sounded like another warewolf. I spun around and glared at the young lady in front of me. "What the hell do you think your doing?" I hissed. "Making so much noise with humans around!" My eyes sparked dangerously as I waited for an answer.

Ra'enya

I watched her, then stepped forward. It was a kind - if not self-forced - gesture, something not to be ignored. I knelt on the other side of her camp, cautiously taking a small share of the food. I preferred meat and nuts to fruit and roots, but it would suffice.

"You are right," I noted. "There's no way of knowing who to trust anymore, but I assure you: I am no enemy of yours."
