"Paradise," I muttered. "There's no such thing." Still, my fingers hovered over the "install" button.
It's just another game. Don't sweat it... But what about the rumors?

Almost of its own will, my hand clicked "install." A standard welcome message appeared. I pushed back my chair, wondering what I'd gotten myself into. Maybe I should just yank the disk...

A bright light flashed onscreen. I closed my eyes against it, wincing. They weren't allowed to do that!

By the way, are computers the same basic setup as today's?

*Since everyone's gone for the moment I better get my first post up then...* Wasn't here when It truly started...*

Haithing:
She had been about this game that past few nights but rumours had spread. She didn't care and still though this game the best. She hit the play button and a flash came. That had never happened before... She opened her eyes and looked around.

She was her dark elfed-self and she was in the middle of a freakin desert area. She hadn't been here when she logged off the last time. She looked around and slouched against a bolder.

Darn! She was so far into the cave area she had specifically saved it there and logged off. Now she had to do it over again. Dareing must have messed with it. She pulled out a virtual pad and hit the history button. No history of the cave. What the heck? Had some one been hacking? Probable. She pushed herself up and started towards the cave area, once again.

Dareing:
He tuned to his sister to check her. She looked fine as far as he could tell. He hit play and a flash came.

When he opened his eyes he did not see his sister anywhere. Crud! He was going to kick her but. He had managed to save his game in the cave but when he managed to get back now she was missing. Did she ditch him? Why? His face hardened. He looked around and found more creatures in the dark.

"Da**! Go away!" He said to them. They disappeared quickly. He was pissy now. He had to get out of this cave. -Oh no! His other side was taking over already. He shifted to his wolf form with a bit of pain as the other Dareing came out. Why did this character have to be given to him. His sister had given it to him. She had created his whole account and he couldn't erase it.

"Hello, Dareing," His other side growled.
Why do you have to come out? He though rudely to the beast from inside.
"That hurt," The wolf said as his voice changed to the angelic echo. "You know me don't you?" He asked.
Yes I do and that's what sucks, he hissed to the wolf again.
"Your sister created me to help her out when both of you were in major danger. I'll come in handy eventually," Wolfboy said to him. They always talked like this. The wolf would speak out loud and the original Dareing would have to think to him. As that though passed though both the Dareing's mind the Wolf rushed into the darkness.
_____________
"Ah, we're out," The Wolfboy said and with that the originally Daring came back into form. He squinted at the sun.

"Nice day I guess," He commented and with that he let the rain come ina d fall. He wanted to send his sister a message. Hopefully she was close enough to get it and hopefully she caught it in the form it was in.

Haithing
She looked up as she made it to the forest. She was not to long from the cave but it had taken a bit to get there. A rain cloud was setting up to rain upon her. There was only one. Hum... She held out hr her hand as the first rain drop fell into her hand. She pulled out the virtual pad again and dropped the rain onto it. "Haith. It's me Dare. We were separated. What happened to you? I managed to get into the cave where we were originally. Did you ditch me or did the Paradise act up again?
-Dare."

She listened to the message as it animated in front of her. That was his voice. Where was he?

Hey everyone, I'm ba-ack. Did you miss me? =)

Tom

The group decided that they would reach more people and have a better chance of finding Ray's sister if they all split up and asked questions around the town on their own. Tom thought it was a reasonable idea and began to walk purposefully through the streets. He paused at a small stall and dug in his pockets, finding that he currently owned a total of three copper coins. That was going to have to change. He took one out and bought an apple, biting into it thoughtfully as he leaned against the stall.

"Would you like anything else?" the sulky, ill dressed stall owner asked. No player liked to stand about minding stalls for long but how else could they make money to buy armour and weapons?

"What do you have?" Tom asked casually.

"I've got a pretty good dagger that I killed a goblin for," she replied. Tom shook his head and was preparing to go when he turned with what seemed to be a sudden realisation and said:

"Hey, I was wondering if you'd heard about all the trouble with this game?" Tom took another bite from the apple, finding he was actually very hungry. That was going to have to be fixed too.

"Pshhh, you don't believe those silly rumours do you?" the girl demanded. "The game works fine!" She obviously hadn't been affected by the virus and, disappointed, and with reassurances that no he didn't believe the rumours, Tom moved on towards a man selling jewelery.

*Yes! people are posting again! Kyte, to answer your question about computers, if you look in my first post when Ray logs in, it mentions that the VR equipment is like a high-tech headset. So everyone knows not all the 'players' are adventurers some live out their perfect fantasy life, or do things they'd be unable to in the 'real world'.*

Azrayel-

Ray surveyed the market square with a slight smile. There were stalls and open air shops all around, a group of kids were playing in the basin of a fountain. There was a fairly good crowd, both players and NPCs wandering around. "What's the easiest way to get information?" Ray thought, his eyes dancing with mischief. "Draw a crowd. Better yet, I can make some cash too."

He sat down on a brightly colored rug and set out a variety of items, a deck of cards, a dart board, a few cups and a pebble. Ray pitched his voice so that people could hear him. "Come one, come all. Try your luck at my games of chance, and if you won't pay in coin I'll except some information."

A bunch of players came over and Ray, knowing how to work a crowd kept them coming. Not many of them knew much about the virus, just rumors blown out of proportion. Or that bad things were happening to players, most of the non-adventurer players had stopped logging in already. Ray got a few interesting facts though, someone was apparently running around the the town of Hawk Nest a couple weeks walk southwest, shouting "The rumors are true. The rumors are true." He even managed to turn a nice profit and now had a pocket full of silver.

Haithing:

She turned on her heal and knew he was going to head to that town. She shook her black puoch. Ten coins. She ran top speed, towards the town. She needed to find anyone she could.

Dareing:

He strod into their meeting town and looked around. A crowd was thinning as he walked into it. He pushed his way through and by the fountain. He needed to wait here. Hopefully no one noticed him.
