Inappropriate Storybooks

I have to say something In Flyaway's defense.
He abandoned the storybook a long time ago when it was turned into this. So don't punish him for a storybook that he really wanted to make.
In fact, I PMed him once and he said that he hated these kind's of storybooks.

You just supported Aed's point, actually. Sex within limits doesn't take up the entire story and is EXTREMELY minimal in its descriptions.

To me, this seems a little harsh.

I don't recall there ever being any clear-cut rule at the top of the Storybook forum saying that any sexual stuff has to be extremely limited. I understand that it's common sense to not write pornography, but to suspend/ban members and delete entirely such a vast Storybook without warning seems, in my view, a little over the top.

Unless they were given a warning to stop beforehand, in which I case I have no sympathy.

Just my dos centavos.

Some of the storybook writers in question have been warned about not rp-ing graphic pornography before on YWS because they were rping graphic pornography in other avenues of YWS. So they do know. Bans, even temporary ones, are not given out lightly.

And SIC... I've been watching you, lol. In fact, most of the mod squad has been watching that storybook, just to make sure it didn't go out of hand. Seeing as you haven't yet started graphically talking about what exactly the characters are doing in a 69 position, you're okay... for the moment. But don't go crazy.

Heh, I think there are some misunderstandings here regarding where the line is drawn.

Writing about sexual situations in a storybook is not per se bad as long as it's rated appropriately. However, don't cross the line into pornography, and I'm pretty sure everyone here can tell the difference. In most cases, all you'll get is a warning and a "friendly" PM from me. But in the case of "Eternals," the storybook really did become absolutely nothing but pornography, and that is not okay.

The original author is not being blamed whatsoever for this. A couple of the people responsible have routinely tried to take storybooks into this direction. If they wish to do so, their posts are far more suitable for an adult erotica site.

Now, if Eternals were still up and available for reading, I am absolutely sure that everyone would agree that wherever we draw the line, it was most definitely crossed. In fact, no matter where you drew it, the line would be at least 10,000 miles behind them. What was going on was so incredibly inappropriate that I doubt it will happen ever again. This topic was also made to ensure that it does not happen again.

Finally, I really wouldn't worry if I was you. I'd just continue posting as I always have been since, chances are, you're not doing anything wrong. Moderation is being tightened around storybooks now, so if you do begin to cross that line, you will get a PM. A good rule to follow here is to ask yourself: has this storybook become nothing but erotica? If the answer to that is 'yes,' then stop participating immediately and notify a moderator.

But, once again, I highly doubt this will happen again, and everyone should feel comfortable with posting as they have always been. Trust me, it takes A LOT to get banned.

God, porn is just so... not what I wanted on a site like this.
