Inappropriate Storybooks

A recent storybook, Eternals (now deleted), devolved into pornography. THIS IS NOT OK. The participating members have been banned for at least two weeks, and I am considering life-long bans in some cases.

Future storybooks that devolve in such a manner will similarly be deleted, and participating members banned for life. Storybooks are not an area where you can write pornography; it is open to everyone and as such, any depiction of sex should be minimal and not the entire story.

Ew.

I feel uneasy that it came to this. I would really hate for YWS to become a porno site. I'm happy you were here to take care of it, though. Thanks for staying on top of things.

omg how can people do this. This is a YOUNG writers site. Its also for kids aswell as teenagers. Kids or teenagers shouldn't have to worry about porn on a site like this, its horrible.

Well, that's what the rating system is for. Although something like that is going overboard even with the appropriate rating. I just hope none of my friends were involved in that storybook.

I think I know who was on the storybook, though I woun't tell for privacy reasons.

The Eternals?! Turned into a pornography storybook?! From what I remember, this was a fantasy story book with a good plot. Maybe I'm remembering a different storybook. That's too bad that got that far.

No you are right. Flyawaythoughts baled on this thing soon after it started going in the kissy kissy direction. It did sound like a good plot. I feel sorry for the shame it was put to.

Nate, where is the line? I mean how far should a storybook go before turning inappropriate? So everyone can know what not to write.

The line is when you begin to graphically describe the acts of intercourse. Saying "Hey, these two had sex," is okay. Writing about the actual act of love-making is not.

You can tell when the story crosses the line because the posts go from advancing the story to just describing sex.

The Eternals was a fairly developed storybook and it has been removed and it's authors banned for certain durations. Storybook authors should take care not to let their storybooks deteriorate to that of the Eternals.
